My families from Asian is planning moving to Canada because i wanted my kids getting new experiencs of their study in Canada and i heard of good health care system. I and my husband with a daughter and a son. Hearing all these concerns made me worried more of future living there as immigrants. Can you advise if i should move to Canada?

Here i will share with you a real and most resent experience i have encountered two weeks ago.\nThere was a well advertised job fair held at the Vancouver downtown campus of the community college. The job fair was organized by work BC\n Out of curiosity i went there. There was a massive line of students and immigrants ranging from the age of 20 + to 40 +\n\n I would think that most people in line were at the very least grads of VCC ( Vancouver Community College) which offers now diploma programs training and even 4 years bachelor and professional degrees. I spoke to several people while in line they were immigrants with Canadian MBA , some had engineering digress and yet were jobless. BY the time we made it to the job fair room ( it took us nearly 2 hours of waiting) and that is where shock started. There were literally 6-7 shitty unknown employers from tiny small businesses that were offering nearly minimum wage jobs. \nThere were no banking recruiters, no business companies, no engineering or social services, nor tech companies or health care reps ! This is clearly an ample proof of the politically constructed myth about a supposedly shortage of labour and high hiring needs of the companies !

I'm Canadian and I don't recommend coming here. I wish I stayed in Taiwan. Also, were you rejected by the US? Many people end up here if they don't get into the US. We don't have the housing, healthcare and education etc to support more immigrants. It can also be really hard in the US if you don't have a higher income and health insurance. If you have the latter, you're ok. I have retired American friends in MI with decent income and health insurance and their health care experience is good. But no health insurance in the US isn't good. Canada's public health care has long been dying. I don't know why we're taking more people in when our systems can't deal with it to begin with.

This is the price to be paid. Canada needs desperately imigration, otherwise it will disappear as a nation in 2 or 3 generations.\nBirth rates is too low. Nobody wants kids because life in freezing countries is too expensive due winter gears, hitting, cars, insulation in every building, store or house, gas, salt on streets,  shovelling, mandatory insurance for everything, health care is a joke, and so on. It is endeless. \nCanada is definitely an uninhabitable place. 92% of canadians live very close the US border due the miserable freezing endeless drepressing 9 months cold weather. Nobody wants go north. Freezing weather makes life unbearable and extremely expensive. If we had a free US-Canada border, Canada would  be empty..\n\n.

They are invading everywhere. Living 25 to a basement. They have large numbers and gang up on any other person or race that opposes them. They steal, commit fraud and bribes daily, drain our food banks dry and never donate a penny. They are destroying our health care system. Just recently 5 men from Brampton were arrested when an Indian dealer and his friends decided to try to scam the Great Canadian Casino Resort and got caught. They will do ANYTHING to get ahead and that means stepping on their own kind. They keep entering through School Mills and LMIA fraud and it won't get shut down, The government doesn't care and loves the money coming in. We need a leader that puts Canadians first but the future looks like a third world. English and French will soon be second and third languages.

Nobody talks about how the way they con their way into becoming permanent residents is a complete fraud and scam. Fake marriage visa's that get divorced the week after they land, pretending to be students at colleges just so they can fast track visas, sponsoring relatives to be stay at home nurses when there was a shortage of health care professionals during covid.... ALL THEY DO IS SCAM... the fact the government hasn't realized that everything they do to get into the country is a complete fraud and that there are networks of companies in india that are making millions by flooding canada is insane.

Sounds like most places in Canada. The house next door was just purchased by south asians. They put in a ‘suite’ and judging by the number of people it looks like 2, maybe 3 families. Send them all back. They’ve got homes in India and come here to take advantage of health care, etc.

Why do people always shit on canada…are we exoected to be as big as the states?? My god give it a rest from what Ive heard the states isnt all its cut out to be either…school shootings every day…people living so poor there they can barely survive and make ends meet….the health care system sucks there…Id rather live here in alberta then anywhere else…air is clean people are friendly here and yeah it is expensive here but thats because of our F UP of prime minister…america wants to make it sound like they are the heros of the world which sounds pretty arrogant to me

You say why no one wants to live in Canada while the population in Canada continues to increase. Problems with housing started years before Trudeau was elected and continued to get worse and the Conservatives are just as culpable and are using it as a political tool. I guess you haven’t looked at how much it costs per month to cover a family for health care in the USA and that’s after spending thousands because of deductibles before you even get covered and only if you can afford a policy that covers 100%. Pie in the sky is for suckers.

Canada's population increased by 1 million people in 2023. Hardly an indicator that life is substandard there. Also, Canada consistently ranks in the top 10 countries in every aspect, from quality of life to personal freedom to education to health-care etc. \nThose who don't succeed as newcomers here should have stayed home in the first place...

Blaming immigrants is a bit odd and clearly not addressing the real issues of the housing crisis which is insufficient supply and financial investment (essentially you can make the most money out of any investment in it with incentives governments have had in place for years - a classic bubble). For health care, clearly a lack of sufficient funds for an aging society and with worse and worse lifestyles (food, exercise) for our increased longevity. If we don't want immigrants we should consider increasing wages for certain work with clear shortages such as long term care for the elderly - which for reasons stated before, will have a demand that grows exponentially.

Prime Minister Trudeau has some policies to limited temporary immigration... He has health system with $198.6 billion over the next 10 years and $46 billion new funding to improve health care for Canadians,

I am from europe, lived half my life in canada came as teenager. want out desperately anywhere sounds good as long as I get some employment and health care.

It's way too late now. He needs to deport at least 75% of these people. We can't handle them in housing or health care or any other of our shitty government services. A million would be almost okay, but it's been over 5 million in less than the 8 years he's been ruining our country.

I am an immigrant, close to become a Canadian citizen. I chose Canada to live with my family and I love this country. \nThat said, I could not agree more with what was said. Things are completely out of control. We can't bring that many people and have no infrastructure to support them. Housing, health care, everything is in a crisis because of Trudeau. If I get my citizenship before the next elections, I will help voting him out!

If you compare job growth to immigration it's obvious that Canada's immigration is ideologically driven. There aren't anywhere near enough jobs, let alone housing, health care, etc. Canada's ruling class is deliberately engineering a future descent of Canada into overt feudalism and lawlessness.

Health care is practically free its the medicine thats expensive

If you are a skilled and talented immigrant, do not come to Canada! Your foreign credentials will be severely downgraded and you will be stuck working a menial job. As well, there is a shortage of housing, long waits for health care and everything is very, very expensive from food to fuel and many other things. Its probably the easiest (Western) country to immigrate to but not worth it in the end.

I have had relatives and acquaintances who moved to the USA. They had a visas to work in Maine in the sixties and seventies. They got drafted during the Vietnam era. One did not go back and they other did two years in the US army during the Vietnam war. They moved back to Canada, after he finished his 2 years, he moved back to Canada. The one who did not report for service to the army, moved to,Ontario, and the guy who served two years moved back for Canada, and his wife needs health care that they couldn't afford in the USA..

health care is so bad at the beginning of March I tried to book a Dr Appointment and was told July! was the first available appointment! $ month wait?! and there's no other drs available or accepting patients

The flood of new people has totally overwhelmed our services: housing, health care, affordabiity.

I moved here 16 years a go (6 years in Calagary + 10 years in Toronto). I've witnessed the high and low of Canada, about 6 years ago, I already started seeing the dwindling quality of life. Limited job opportunities/security, deteriorating health care and public safety, skyrocketing rent/cost of living, and people are becoming less tolerant/welcoming. Of course the pandemic made it worse, and it exposed the social ills in the country. Still better than a developing country, but definitely not Canada I used to know and experience.

Canada is going downhill for the past 20 years. The list of problems faced by Canada are many, this includes unaffordable housing, a dysfunctional health care system with never ending wait times, over taxation with little or benefits in return, an exploding homeless population, and an economy dominated by monopolies which leads exorbitant high prices. Trudeau believes the solution to all of Canada ills is to increase immigration to a recklessly high number and double the size of the federal government, this recklessly high number of immigration is exacerbating Canada’s problems and not improving it. Thanks to Trudeau Canada is headed for third world status.

Don’t listen to this alt-right propaganda. Canada is a great place to live. Like most nations we are struggling with our post COVID economic recovery. Health care and education are threatened and housing is growing more expensive. We are still struggling with something if a class war, woth boomers and the wealthy class mostly hoarding wealth and working very hard to avoid paying taxes. Meanwhile lower wage earners struggle with affordability. We have big issues work on, mainly by changing our policies from those that favour the rich to those that work for working class people. Don’t buy the right wing propaganda.

To anyone who thinks of coming and immigrate to Canada. My advice to them is not to come. Canada is not what you think. Lack of opportunities, non existent health care, terrible services, and very poor quality of life. Non-stop stress from the moment you land here, not to mention the inhumane depressing cold weather.

The problem is not with immigrants, it is with the government's poor planning. The housing crisis began well before the recent uptick in immigration, and both major political parties are responsible for it. They under-invested in social housing and did not give enough tax incentives for developers to build new housing. They did this on purpose because the housing market was seen as the place where homeowners could build massive equity, and they did. For many years, Canadians were very pleased with this state of affairs. About a decade ago stories were running everywhere that the Canadian middle class was larger and wealthier than the American middle class. This was almost entirely due to the equity established in housing. But the prices just kept going up and up, there was not enough new housing built (on purpose, to maintain the value of Canadian real estate), and the economy needed new immigrants to fill thousands of jobs and to keep funding the health care system and other social benefits. So now we have a housing crunch, where even Canadians who own homes cannot sell them because they have nowhere to move to (everything around them is just as expensive), immigrants can't find housing, and the health care system is overloaded. It's a proper mess, but it's not as simple as saying the problem is with too many immigrants.

It now seems lonelier in Toronto. \n\nCanada used to be different because anyone with a good job could afford at least a condo, but life became unaffordable not just for immigrants, but for everyone unless you are in your 50s-60s and own a home. \n\nI have friends working double jobs supporting family back home in other countries, but for some of them the family back home sound like they are doing better than them and own a home. Telephone companies are the one place where people must bargain and even ask for better deals as a must.\n\nThe people you see living in big houses, will have kids that can’t afford the same. This is because prices keep rising. The system protects the very rich, but will also drain the middle class often within 1-2 generations. Do not link your business to your personal finance, or creditors can take your home. Some not knowing this lose everything and rich people know better. \n\nPeople live until they are very old, so inheritance is pretty much meaningless to rely on, so no matter what your parents have you must hustle in life. \n\nI do think Canada can become what we want over time. Citizens need to fight the trend of great community spaces, restaurants and bars going out of business and dumb corporations move in with bad boring restaurants. Like a McDonald’s where maybe a popular cultural hang out was. \n\nPart of the problem is a lack of mixed income housing areas, so it’s hard to stay living where you grew up. Yet how is this possible in a city that is always pushing out lower income people when wealthier people desire the area. \n\nIn Toronto, every time you move you have to take what is available and that might mean moving an hour away from everyone you know. This weakens communities. Plus, if you live too far from your work you will have no time to socialize for most the week due to travel time. \n\nI think those who grew up in Toronto do have a certain culture of acceptance with others from many cultures, because your friends at school were from all over. But with new migrants sometimes it isn’t until the second generation that their social circles get diverse. This can be isolating and it’s even isolating as those from Toronto eventually leave dreaming of staying in one spot and not forced to move constantly when a landlord investor sells every house you move into. \n\n\nToronto really needs to protect affordability of housing for at least some housing in every section so that people can save money if they live in the city, and not have to leave their communities and be far from their friends and family. \n\notherwise eventually people get sick of the hustle and it’s too tiring to travel 1+ hrs each way to visit someone during Monday to Friday. \n\n20 years ago any professional could at least buy a condo. Not today. There is too much competition now and investors are allowed to buy up all the most affordable housing that once was a pathway to owning a home. \n\nRich policy makers got greedy and destroyed canada and hopefully diversity in leadership will help make Canada better. But they perhaps people knew to Canada can reject this lonely structure and help us rebuild Toronto into an amazing place. \n\nWe need to make sure everyone can afford housing with 30% of their income. I clicked on this expecting some right-wing Trudeau-bashing, and I was pleased to see it’s actually a fairly objective, non-partisan discussion. \n\nOne thing it doesn’t mention, though, is that conservative provincial governments in Canada are sitting on $70 billion in health care funding supplied by the federal government. They are deliberately allowing their health care systems to deteriorate. They have done the same with federal housing funding, to the point where the federal government is now making deals directly with cities to supply new housing. \n\nAnd, those rising housing prices, for better or worse, have made a lot of Canadian homeowners and landlords very wealthy. THEY certainly don’t want to see housing get more affordable.

This country has never been good lived here for 38 years in small towns and the small towns are exsesivly criminal cult like and act like independent countries seperate from Canada I have had many family members die from lack of health care and I myself spent 6 years being sick with no diagnosis and malked and patronized the entire time took 5 years to find out I had a leasion in my stomach and almost 7 to find out I had a hiadious hurnea I was a happy home owner and was forced out of my house by fraud which I have proof of so one of the cool kids could have a house police in this country and you can just google the amount of times people have reported to police and nothing was done the biggest criminal organization is the police and just like they did to the Mofia made Reco laws they need to bring out new laws for charging corrupt criminal lazy incompatant police because there are millions of them out court systems are a joke I tried a civil prosecution against people who have committed crimes against me and was denied to go infront of a judge because I was part native and had proof of white crime I'm a 20 licensed mechanic and have to live in my car because I can't afford rent or a house have a 100 grand invested in tools and a tool box and have the choice to starve to death or live in my car and eat I hate living and working in this country as Canada has no work place standards and the labour board is corrupt and takes bribes instead of charging business owners example east way blew up killing six people in Ottawa nation's capital I had friends who worked for that companies and reported it it has hundreds of complaints to the labour board and nothing was done and six people died I have worked for two employers who have had death in the work place and almost died three times in the work place with proof one time I was struck in the head by a sledge hammer almost killing me another reason I hate working in this country is the monopoly it is employers pay and do the bare minimum example I produce 40 to 60 thousand dollars of work every two weeks out of Wich 20 to 30 thousand is profit for the owner I make not even two percent of that profit and all services in Canada are fake useless and a run by under educated lazy incompatant people go canada

There is 1 answer to all of this. We in Canada have the worst government of any nation in the western world. Our nation is being destroyed by leftwing extreemist idiology. Crime is out of control, massive drug abuse and failing health care. Our government is failing everyone in Canada while being knee deep in scandals almost continually. They are corrupt and killing people.

I completely agree w this man. Ive worked my ass off for 30 yrs already & even w my private health insurance thru my FT job Its still gonna cost me between 12& 15 grand to get my teeth fixed. Its life threatening & caused by a bone disease that I have no control over but the Gov't wont help pay a damn cent. (Btw I drive 2hrs a day & sometimes sleep in my car overnight & shower at work cuz I cant afford the cost of gas to drive home every day.) \n@ 45 Ive been forced 2 deplete my retirement savings & move in w my Godparents cuz I can't afford rent anymore.\nI drive an 06 Honda Odyssey which is hangin by a thread & Im grateful AF for it.\nBoth my parents served in the military. Some provinces are better than others, Quebec is good, Nova Scotia is one of the worst.

I am a French Canadian born here, and I want to move out of this country. Everything about this country’s culture, education, health care, crime, agriculture, economy, literally everything is unrecognizable, and it’s happened all in like 8 years. Every single thing my grandfather fought for in WW2 is gone.

No future in Canada. Rulers don't care. A country will progress if they bring in lot of investment, bring in quality educated immigrants, they bring in refugees and below quality students waste the money just vote bank politics. No real forecasting leaders. Fun is fighting with two fast growing nation China and India. Not mature enough to do business. Health care gone down. The reason there are shortages in the health care system is because too many of the immigrants Canada keeps importing are overdue for medical attention. Too many of the people Canada is letting into their country are hard-core enemies of the West. They really DO NOT belong here!

Just to add to the health care side. It's honestly wasn't that bad pre covid-19. But when you fire about half of all medical staff for not being vaccinated; you lose a lot good workers. Plus we mow don't even have enough family Doctors. I'm lucky I had one pre covid-19.
