The President of the United States is trying to destroy America economically in my opinion. Don’t take it personal Canada. He’s fired over 20,000 people from their jobs with absolute disregard in disrespect. He left to get rid of which employed 7000 people! Trump led the charge to get rid of TikTok and then he left Office and it happened but he’s the one who started it all 7000 people lost their job jobs. He’s cutting Services to all American people with all these job losses and he doesn’t care!! He just cares about his wife, Elon, and making America white again! To start trade, wars is crazy when we’re just recovering economically from the pandemic, but he doesn’t care because being the president has made him rich because he breaks every law!! I’m so sorry Canada that we have so many idiots in this country that voted for this man because they’re racist and they wanna make America white again. It’s not about making America great it’s about making it white. Unless you do one of those so-called what he calls black jobs. Don’t really need to explain anymore than that. Either know some history or don’t. Hopefully this idiot will either change his mind when he realize what a catastrophe he’s caused or he’ll be gone soon!! From an American, who did not vote for Trump and never would vote for Trump with good reason!!

I am loyal to my country. I bleed United States no matter what.. I may not always like what has happened shot look at Biden but I’ll never side a with another country i pledge my allegiance to the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ??

Canada has politely let terrorists into the United States , Canada has politely been unfair to America in trade. Canada has politly accepted Billions in free money. Goodbye Canada. In closing perhaps Canada should become ''Unwoke'' and give your people ''Free Speech''

We’ll buy our own. Stop threatening. And your country will suffer also. Canada citizens. All these countries have been living off of the United States. Time to get off the tit.

I dont get it why the Americans think that we should even have to spend as much as they do on military...the whole world literally despises them and is actively trying to think of a way to attack them, but it is a much different story when it comes to Canada. Im pretty sure 911 was an attack on United States, an event that Canada did not have to involve itself with, but guess what? We did. We lost our own brave countrymen and women in order to come to the aid of the United States. Maybe the next time they want help they should look elsewhere. We were also there fighting in world war 2 way before the Americans decided to show up as well.

United States needs to stop military backing on Canada immediately and put a wall up?
|

Why would Trump do this? Well it’s kind of simple if you think about it. He’s trying to destroy the United States from the inside out. He is a Russian asset!!!!!

Canada’s Retaliation Against the Smoot-Hawley Tariff (1930)\nOne of the most immediate and severe retaliatory responses to the Smoot-Hawley Tariff came from Canada, which was heavily dependent on trade with the United States. Canada was the largest export market for U.S. goods at the time, and when the U.S. imposed high tariffs on Canadian imports, Canada responded with its own punitive tariffs on American products.\n\nBackground: U.S.-Canada Trade Before Smoot-Hawley\nIn 1929, about 75% of Canadian exports went to the U.S.\nCanada was also a major supplier of lumber, wheat, cattle, and minerals to American markets.\nThe two economies were deeply intertwined, and Canada had traditionally followed a low-tariff trade policy with the U.S.\nCanada’s Response: Retaliatory Tariffs (1930)\nPrime Minister R.B. Bennett responded to Smoot-Hawley by raising tariffs on American goods, specifically targeting products from the U.S. Midwest and industrial centers.\nCanada increased tariffs on over 16 U.S. goods, including:\nFarm machinery\nAutomobiles\nFruits and vegetables\nTextiles\nThese tariffs redirected Canadian trade away from the U.S. and toward Britain and other Commonwealth nations, under a new imperial preference system.\nEconomic Consequences\nFor the United States:\n❌ Sharp decline in U.S. exports to Canada\n\nU.S. exports to Canada dropped by 55% between 1929 and 1932.\nAmerican automobile and farm equipment industries suffered severe losses.\nMany Midwest farmers, who had relied on Canadian sales, went bankrupt.\n❌ Loss of a major trading partner\n\nCanada sought alternative suppliers in Britain, Australia, and other Commonwealth nations.\nThis permanently weakened U.S.-Canada economic ties, forcing the U.S. to reconsider its trade policies.\nFor Canada:\n✅ Diversification of Trade\n\nCanada strengthened trade ties with Britain and other Commonwealth countries.\nCanadian exports to Britain increased, helping Canada avoid complete economic collapse.\n❌ Short-term economic pain\n\nWhile Canada successfully retaliated, the tariffs raised prices for Canadian consumers.\nThe Canadian economy still suffered from the global depression, but it recovered faster than the U.S. by diversifying trade.\nLong-Term Impact\nPermanent Shift in Canadian Trade Policy\n\nCanada moved away from dependence on the U.S. and pursued closer economic ties with Britain.\nThis weakened U.S. economic influence in Canada for decades.\nRepeal of Smoot-Hawley and the Start of U.S. Trade Liberalization\n\nThe failure of Smoot-Hawley contributed to the Reciprocal Trade Agreements Act (1934) under Franklin D. Roosevelt, which lowered tariffs and encouraged bilateral trade deals.\nU.S.-Canada trade eventually recovered, but the economic damage lasted for years.\nConclusion\nThe U.S. intended to protect its industries, but Smoot-Hawley backfired by provoking Canada’s retaliation. This case study highlights how tariffs can damage relationships with key trading partners, disrupt industries, and reduce exports, ultimately harming the economy.

Donald Trump is a Russian spy. He has already sold Putin top military documents that he stole from the White House. He’s a traitor. He’s disgusting to the United States of America and he’s not fit for office of any kind.????????????????

For decades, the United States has fought communism. It was one of the worst things there was and you could be accused of being.
\nNow, the United States has turned its back on its allies in this struggle and instead followed the cause of the Communists. It is sad to witness.

I gotta say that I'm not a liberal nor have I been a particular fan of Justin Trudeau... but today (and for the last few weeks) I've been quite impressed by my Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. This Canadian supports a vast and vicious trade war against the United States. I do not have any hatred for the American people but I do have nothing but contempt for Trump and his band of traitorous scum! I wouldn't have dreamed that our closest friend and ally could be siding with an enemy proclaimed (Russia) against democratic nations. Trump represents an existential threat to democracy everywhere and must be put down by the American people like a rabid dog!

Trump doesn't care about US jobs. He and the people who surround him are independently wealthy. They have already, in a few weeks, eliminated hundreds of thousands of jobs which support the running of the United States. Vital services, including VA hospitals, have been reduced. \nI support Canada, as a US citizen, against this US illogical behavior.

The United States relationship with the rest of the free world is at its lowest point in its history - fear not, we're closer than ever to Putin and Russia. No doubt he'll soon be visiting North Korea, Hungary and Belarus.

United States will take parody with Canada as far as tariffs are concerned. We just want fair trade. The deals signed by United States were bad deals. We just want fair and even trade. We will be back to normal soon as we make tariffs equal on both sides. We love Canadians, we just want even tariffs. Peace out

I'm sorry, Canada. On behalf of the apparent minority here in the United States I want to apologize. We aren't all basement dwellers who disrespect our place in the world. We do wish you the best and hope that sense can somehow prevail here.

Why is the United States of America helping Russia break our union with our allies?

I would VOTE for him as the President of the United States. That address to his fellow Canadian was what people need to hear in America. Not this BS the White House resident is saying!

He can posture and act tough all he wants but Canada will suffer much more than the United States. If you want fairness then make it an equal playing ground between countries. The majority of Americans, not like most of the liberals commenting here support Donald Trump

Boycott tyranny! Boycott the United States!

This is exactly what Trump wants to destroy America!!!! to bring on techtocracy or maybe just to make his allies in Russia happy.. It's either that or he is the dumbest president in American history... I've never understood why anybody thought that he gave a damn about anybody but himself or was capable of doing anything that would benefit the American people. But here we are.. there was voter suppression at the very least. It's hard to know what to believe about all that. But I do know many people regardless voted for him. 30% did not vote. Which I do understand. As there is a genocide happening.. but at this point, I have to believe that even amongst the majority of his supporters he is not supported by the majority, major majority of the United States. The republican Congress has shown their true colors of being anti-constitutional . But they are redeemable. Do the right thing if you are in government if you have any power at all, stand up. And for the rest of us, Americans including the ones that voted for Trump let your voices be heard. Before we become something similar to Russia. And I go to prison for this comment.

I am a United States citizen from birth. I agree with Prime Minister Trudeau's speech. The cause of the problems are Trump and his sycophants. Trump seems hell-bent on destroying all decency. He's a lawless liar and cheat.

America first. If we let our Allies take advantage of us, we have no chance against our enemies. We look weak and divided to other countries. This show of strength shows we mean business. If we were a United Country Canada would gladly join us as the 51st State

Why doesn't someone just come out and say it. What does Putin have on Trump to get him to do all these things. All of these things don't benefit Canada or the United States they benefit Putin.\n Donald I for one am completely willing to forgive you whatever you've done whatever Putin has on you I will completely forgive you and I would imagine to put an end to all this craziness the rest of the country will forgive you too will give you a pass on whatever Behavior Putin recorded

Good luck with that\nTrudeau’s going to be begging for forgiveness just like Zelinskyy shortly \nCanada sends almost 80% of their exports to the United States and we send about 12% of ours to them.\nTrudeau is a an economic idiot

Trump is an ENEMY to the well being of the United States and the world. He is NOTHING but a Putin puppet, and he's going to destroy America's economy. WHY are we allowing it?

Great, unambiguous words by the Canadian president! But one of his remarks stood out: he said that the tyrants want to divide us. He is correct, of course. But the implications are profound! This means that Trudeau himself is measuring his words and deliberately using diplomatic language. He even says that Trump is “intelligent”, which only plays into the imbecile’s unfortunate NPD psychology! The unwillingness to stand strong against American tyranny is harming democracy worldwide! Force Trump to declare a side! And make him choose Putin or democracy NOW!! If you fail to do that, you are taking the path of accommodation, and if Trump is really a tyrant (which he surely is, because of MANY evidences!!), democratic countries weaken their position by not standing strong NOW. If Europe and Canada and Mexico ban Tesla imports and place 50% tariffs on tens of billions of dollars of American products, what would happen? Are these countries AFRAID of the United States? This is not the time for fear! This is the time for courage! Boycott!!!

Trudeau - Trump is a traitor to the United States of America. He's under PUTIN'S thumb. Trump is PUTIN'S puppet. Real Americans will never bow down to RUSSIA. \n\nWe can't count on Trump for Nothing!! He's letting a South African Billionaire wreak havoc on American people and lives!!!\n\nThis is TOTAL BULLSHIT!!

what bullshit from ignorant uninformed anti-American sources. We aren't unaware of our generous history as apparently Trudeau (who historically has not been a friend of the United States) is (as well as the anti-American critics posting comments) and so we don't feel guilty of anything but trying to level the playing field.

What happened to United States government being by the people, for the people? PM Trudeau's speech is in plain real language, unlike the dumbed-down unintelligible words coming from our administration here in The US. Thank you, PM Trudeau for speaking so reasonably and maturely about this unpleasant trade development??

I called the Canadian embassy in Washington DC this morning. I told them as an American citizen. It saddens me and breaks my heart that we are treating our allies with such disrespect. I do not stand with the United States government and their treatment of our allies. I also called the Mexican embassy and told them the same thing. I didn’t announce Trump in his cabinet and what they’re doing to our economy that we have worked so hard to resurrect again after he was president last time. I, urge every person who does not agree with what is going on to call the Canadian and the Mexican embassies and just let them know that we stand in solidarity with them and against our government here!

So are you going to be a tough guy against Donald Trump the United States been protecting your country for its conception maybe you need to go visit him in the Oval Office and get school on what a pansy you are go ahead and talk to Donald might just close your border to America you don't you don't have the cards you don't have the balls be tough guy he'll slap a 50% tear upon you and then maybe he'll say take a hike a jerk Trudeau come on wake up
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
justin you are a petty man and it shows with the way you disrespect the President of the United States by calling him donald instead of the respect the position deserves. The fact is Canada needs the US trade more than the US needs Canada. The US should completely close the border and we should be making all the products we get from Canada here in the US as we need the jobs more than the trade from Canada. And as an added bonus the US can save all the money we spend defending Canada with our military, let Canada foot the bill for their own defense. So ESBFGGC
