Trump has made ruZZia's cruel dick-tator his closest friend, not ours, not our America's, which has not lost its love and appreciation for its neighbors, and especially Canada, its cousin! For some reason, we are now governed by a complete psycho moron and his cabal, whose sole interest is $money$, as they value nothing else in life. This is a republican coup. I sincerely apologize for the MAGA Republicans that appear to have lost their minds. Why so many people support a wannabe dictator, I do not know. Why so many people failed to vote, I do not know. I hope this does not last long. Frankly, it's already gone too far. I live in Minnesota. We as a State we deeply appreciate Canada, our neighbors to the North.

I hope Canada and the EU can get closer, and set up trade of most of our natural resources with them BEFORE Trump get yelled at to change things so theyre extra screwed. Presumably the whole point of tariffs on Canada is to raise revenues to cover the tax cuts for the oligarchs that he hopes will keep his or his family permanently in power. From that point of view it makes sense to put the tariffs on the biggest trade partners. The tax breaks the oligarchs get will allow them to buy up and control the media on his behalf. Nothing to do with fentanyl. That's just a lie that US citizens are stupid enough to swallow.

I hope we see more Canadian products over here in Europe...will be on the look out to buy them.

Since we here in the USA created this mess and can't seem to deal with the orange buffoon and his narcissistic nonsense, I think it is up to Canada and Mexico and Europe to try reigning him in somehow. I don't think they can succeed, but we can hope. We're barely 6 weeks into this. It's going to be a long 4 years.

welcome to European life pay tax for everything, in EU we pay 20-30% of VAT and up 50% of our salary go to gov.. so yeah we poor in EU as we pay up to 70%-80% in taxes (depends on EU country) but basically yeah happy life.. basically we pay for healtcare and universities , so that 3rd world people could get free education .. I hope someone like trump will take wheel of EU.. there is no place for liberalism in future..

Under normal circumstances I would be the last person to support our Liberal party; especially Trudeau. His past record speaks for itself. However, his talk today to the American people and Trump actually made me feel proud to be a Canadian. It was the harshest language I have heard him use towards Trump especially after enduring weeks of degrading talk from Trump in relation to calling Trudeau a governor. I hope that the Liberals follow through with protecting Canadians.

Donald Trump and his administration have been captured by Russia. Every single thing he does that seems not to make sense, which seems to hurt America, are directives from Vladimir Putin. He wants to weaken America and destabilize the West. And he found individuals willing to commit treason in order to do his bidding. Can Trump be removed NOW from power and have a referendum and re-do of the election? There should be some sort of return policy just as in business. As an American, i hope that the world does react to the United States as Canada has. And even worse. I hope that things for us get as bad as it gets because anything less will be ignored or brushed off as anyone elses fault. I'm European and I really can't understand how you can make an economic trade war with an ally like Canada, a close and so friendly neighbor.... A dumb decision not only for the W Post... As an American, I hope that our allies can recognize that we are prisoners in Trump's corruption.
