It s original but most of it, it s your opened mind that makes me sometimes smile, some other times think with my canadian mind. Meaning, to most of us , excepting the most left leaning socially progressive pockets and contexts , which even then wouldn’t be viewed that way to us just acceptable lol ?\n\nOur baseline/political middle in Canada is A LOT more left leaning than the baseline normal/political middle in the states. So while people tend to equate your democrats to our liberals or our NDP , and equate your republicans to our conservatives. It’s just not accurate. If you throw our span of parties and American span of parties on the SAME spectrum /polarity line. You might be surprised to realize how shifted left our systems range politically is from the American one. \n\nThis hugely impacts the average normal expectation , what we clutch our pearls at hearing coming out of the mouths of the general public , and our range of what we expect to not hear or see ranted about unless they’re to our view , extremely right leaning politically /social values. \n\nFor us this means that actually genuinely , a lot of America does get experiences by us as bat shit crazy racist homophobic immigrant intolerant culturally and religiously ignorant , and somewhat backwards in larger or smaller amounts ? I know that’s not fun to hear but. Being the most diverse country based so much on immigration means. What is normal and known /familiar and normal so we aren’t ignorant to , is completely different. \n\nFor us we have our pockets usually in more rural less populated areas further away from larger cities where there is more diversity but that’s the same often in many countries that you will find some of the louder racist homophobic intolerant voices typically in places that truly are unfamiliar and ignorant to the experience of growing up with and around much of any diversity of varying kinds. So it’s not to say we don’t have racism and intolerance of course like anywhere we do. It’s just contained and the range and frequency and intensity is MUCH different. We distinguish nuances of diff cultures and religions more easily and in larger numbers we’re more familiar with diff ways of life , language , food, dress , holidays , values and used to a much less segregated way of existing even when we are differnt from each other as the NORM. My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. Like I don’t think our most intolerant Pockets can hold a flame to even ur closet to middle a bit intolerant places and contexts in America. Quite honestly. \n\nI think the absolute undying favourable passionate upholding and support of nationalistic, capitalist, hyper individualistic mentality about society as a whole (from my Canadian born and bred perspective lol) makes the differences even more glaring blaring and hard to swallow for us lol. I think more Canadians would feel exactly how that comment stated , that you felt was not fair for us to experience America as. O_o Well this is a weird situation. I didn't expect a Mexican American immigrant to support Trump. She explained that she was technically legal. However I really doubt this. Trump is extremely racist. He would still deport this woman anyway. Maybe it is not just a racism thing. Trump is a felon. Felons are the last people that would consider the law. It is nice that this woman went the extra mile to be legit, but I think she is still shooting herself in the foot.

I’m an American citizen who was born in the United States (Hawaii). Everyone has the right to support or not support President Trump’s plans for mass deportation. The interviewer asked this Mexican American woman her opinion and she’s entitled to her opinion. There are a lot of Hispanic people who agree with Trump. I don’t think she’s turning her back on her family by saying “it’s okay” if they get deported. I think she’s respecting and supporting the rules of Immigration laws to have legal documentation to live in the United States. Rather than disrespecting and ignoring Immigration laws the way her family did. I think in a way she’s saying “it’s okay” her family gets deported because they deserve to be penalized for breaking Immigration laws for entering and staying in America for 20 or 30 years illegally which is valid and understandable. It comes down to the phrase “You commit the crime you do the time” whether it’s family or not. I believe she has a leg to stand on because she followed Immigration laws, received her Green Card and is living in the United States legally. If a family member of mine committed a crime and were put in jail or deported back to their country I would say “it’s okay” too. You reap what you sow.

He couldn't get the last President of Mexico to pay for his so called wall, then embezzled funds raised by US citizens to build it, then had a completion ceremony, which was a lie. What was built was about 10 miles of fencing that was being climbed by sun down the same day. His idea was to shoot all those who crossed in the legs or dig a moat and fill it full of alligators. I think the President has very limited power to affect prices most Americans are concerned about. The Justice Dept can prosecute price fixing, Commerce can go after monopolies but President cannot snap his fingers and lower the price of eggs or your rent. He has no power over interest rates. Unfortunately the President can raise inflation with dumb policies.

I don't think anyone that voted for Trump knows basic math. Mexico has been imposing tariffs on Americans, and Mexican’s, for taking their cars over there for a long time. \n\nYou have to pay for a permit, along with a hefty deposit (depending on the vehicle year), to cross your vehicle into Mexico. You can cross into the border towns, but if you want to drive further in, you have to pay. \n\nThis is done to eliminate competition, instead of letting the market dictate the pricing. And if you don’t return your permit, you don’t get your deposit back and lose the ability to cross any vehicles for life. No, how is that fair?!\n\nAnd you STILL see Mexican nationals buying vehicles here, and just paying the hefty tariffs, just to legalize their American vehicles in Mexico. \n\nWe can just start there, and do the same thing to them. This is interesting! If you take Economics 101 you will find that tariffs are not paid by another country but are passed down to the consumer(s). Is Trump's thinking that if products cost more from Mexico that Americans will buy products from someone else? And in this case most products come in from elsewhere so the U.S. consumer will be paying hire prices on what we purchase. America does not manufacture a lot of our products anymore. Trump has 1950's economic views.

TBH - I think it’s a shame for any company to have its product made in China. I am liberal AF, but have always been disappoint with how globalization has been the downfall of American dominance in manufacturing.

Ok for those who don’t understand how tariffs work thats tax for American companies to import goods here ok and the other countries sale their products at the whatever cost they set, once Americans pay the tax tariffs then Americans companies increase their cost to recover ad make up their loss costing Americans higher prices.
