Indians are top in migration in the world at the moment for better life and opportunities.

Every place has its positives and negatives. Canada is beautiful, clean and green. The people are polite and friendly at a superficial level and the infrastructure is great. But for a new immigrant it's very difficult to make new social contacts or even to get a good job. The cost of living is high and housing costs are exhorbitant. The medical system is terrible with people having to wait weeks to meet a specialist \n\n Indian cities are mostly dirty, polluted and chaotic with poor infrastructure. There is rampant corruption and people can be rude and obnoxious especially while driving. But you can get help for everything and living costs are affordable. Plus the social contacts ..family and friends around are priceless. The medical system is way better provided you have some money.

I have been in US for 20 years and can understand the experience that you are sharing. Frankly, countries like US and Canada are not for people who can’t do some basic things on their own. \nPeople leave their families and comfort of their home and come to these countries either to earn money, eventually have a good quality life or to provide a good quality education for their kids. If you don’t have a reason good enough to make that move and keep the option of running back home on facing little hardship then there is no way you can live in these countries. Forget about going and living in other countries you can’t even go and live in another state within India. Do you think it’s easy for a North Indian to go and live in South (or vice versa) where they encounter language and culture barriers? \nYou were in much much better situation as you already had PR and didn’t have to go through stress of handling uncertainty on your visa situation based on job.\nTrust me it takes few years for you to get adjusted to new environment, culture, people, food etc. But, as you spend more and more time in these countries you get more accustomed to way of living here and then you become so comfortable with it that you don’t want to go back at all.\nDon’t want to judge anyone but I guess in your case at your age with family already settled in India you didn’t have a solid enough reason to get out of your comfort zone and give time to get used to such big transition in your life

Before moving please make sure what you would be doing in a new country for living? Will you be able to manage until you pickup your earnings. My family moved 22 years ago from Mumbai to Toronto…while the struggles said on your channel are real, there are also perks which I feel like you didn’t get to experience. If people have good jobs, stable family life then DON’T move…culture shock is huge that people moving from India don’t consider, just by wearing and eating western food doesn’t make you western! \nThere are sacrifices to be expected which you don’t realized as your great grandparents or grandparents might have made when they started out! \nMoving to another country is never easy, unless you’re loaded with $$$. People in India are lazy as they have people working for them and don’t realize how difficult it is living outside of that lifestyle (not everyone in India can afford housekeepers, cleaners). Being independent and doing things on your own has its own positive (just need to figure it out). \n\nI have worked in healthcare for 16 years and let me tell you…social system works better as everyone gets the health service without being judged about $$. Healthcare is based on priority around the world but people don’t understand this as they feel like their problem should be attended first no matter what! \nNot all drugs are legal in Canada, marijuana is legal though with acceptable limits…you probably were misinformed about drugs! Teach your kids about right /wrong when it comes to drugs, smoking, alcohol and that’s the best you can do! I know people who live in India and do all that which you mentioned you were worried about for your kids. \n\nWhat you experienced was a classic case of culture shock and your expectations didn’t match the reality! Moving away from family, changing lifestyle and being responsible adult (doing things on your own rather than relying on workers) is difficult but doesn’t make the country bad that have you an opportunity to settle! Don’t take things for granted even while you live in India…appreciate the effort that goes into everything- keeping roads clean, people working hard, etc. \n\nBest advice I can give to those considering moving to any foreign country is: Keep an open mind, be ready to work hard and visit the country you want to move to before you make the grave decision of uprooting everything! Things usually turn around and get better after 5 years mark- focus on upgrading your education if you have a basic degree from India (even you know how competitive things are in India, so how can western world not be!)\n\nBeing vegetarian- things are tough when it comes to food but living in Toronto has never been an issue. Even people living in India avoid outside food due to hygiene reason which is not a problem in Canada as food inspection is pretty strict (having worked with ministry of health). \nCities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, etc has variety of food options (including veg)…just have to be really open to trying other cultural food (Asian, Mediterranean, Italian,Mexican, etc). My parents are strict vegetarians and have never truly struggled when they are out. \n\nCost of living is definitely higher as the standard living is higher compared to India. Education (until grade 12) and healthcare are free (in reality, you pay tax for it), you get pension when you retire (based on your contributions and type of jobs you had)…you failed to navigate the system and I will say having family around is why you didn’t take opportunity to explore and learn on your own. \n\nPlease don’t come to Canada and make life difficult for other Indians who choose to willingly accept the culture and lifestyle here after going through this hardship- cost of living and housing has gone up dramatically in major cities because of immigration influx! If you’re serious about moving and putting up, only then move! Otherwise all the best for your future endeavours!

I am an Indian and this is insane. I keep seeing people from different parts of the world talking $hit about the US, muzlims hating Americans. Lot of educated Indians with degrees go to Canada only to do unskilled low wage jobs. They pay heavy taxes and rent and can't afford food. Living a paycheck to paycheck life. And USA is no better. They have strict anti immigration laws now. So i suggest you educated Indians to stay in India do the kind of jobd that fits your qualifications. And pay your income tax correctly. You know only 2% of Indians pay their income taxes. Tax evasion is preventing the development of India. If you love your country don't do that. Because you ain't cheating your govt but cheating your country and ultimately cheating yourself

Nice and well thought out video. Even though I don't agree with everything, you said it in a considerate way and shared your honest experience. It was just unfortunate that you did not get enough time to settle down. Moving to any new place is extremely tough and especially when you are moving to a completely new city. I live in Germany and I love it here. My wife and I came here to study, but my wife came first and she had a really bad first 6 months in winter. Things got much better later. We Indians miss house help so much in early days, but the fact is you have so much free time here and things are well organized. You don't waste time in traffic, you don't have to go 10 times to a government office to get work done, you don't have to sit with kids everyday to do homework, kids can come and go to school on their own, there is little dust so houses don't get dirty every day, everything is planned and no one is visiting your house suddenly. So in reality, doing the house chores aren't such a big deal because you have a lot of time.

You have tried to explain very well the initial struggle faced by new immigrants. This does take years and sometimes decades to settle down properly in a new country for first generation. First generation Indians try to save as much as they can while cutting corners. Things have relatively become much easier as there are plenty of jobs for those who have professional degrees and substantial experience. I personally found Canadian bachelor of engineering was far superior than masters of computer science in USA. I enjoyed spending four years in downtown Toronto while full time studying in late 80’s before moving back to USA. Someone else mentioned here in previous thread that all of their friends are much better off in India. I feel more or less the same way in spite of having three engineering degrees and 40 years experience. I am strong believer in Karmas, your destiny will take you where you’re supposed to be. what has been shared in this video is nothing that people are not aware of. Everybody knows that you have to do all the work yourself,no maids, cooks, etc. like India.These facts have been there for years, nothing new about them. If people want to got there for further education, it is different, but then Canada is not all that good as far as higher education is concerned, there are better countries to choose from with better weather conditions and better lifestyle and high class education. Who would want to live in a cold and inhospitable country, payig through your nose. The attraction and the charm of living abroad is no longer there.\nOur country has improved so much and so fast in the last 10 years, we have good bathrooms in schools and other public places, which was not there previously. Only drawback in our country is the traffic and infrastructure, which will also become better, but will take time, because of our country's population.\nIn fact you will find servants and watchmen all coming to work in a bikes or scooters, which was unthinkable some years back. Don't deceive Africans to move to Canada Infact they should acquire some funds to start a business or study to go back to Africa and move back to Africa entirely. Okay I have seen some non-sense in the comments section and I think Indian government should stop Indian students going to Canadian universities thereby fuelling their toothless economy by billions of dollars every year. Why can’t Trudeau take a simple stand against granting visa to Indian students if they think they are a major player in this world. The truth is, Indian education is growing and it’s good enough but at this point, most students who go there don’t know why they are going. Ill informed video based on personal inconveniences. Most of the points you said stand valid in India if you shift to a different city. Also to your point on the schooling system being better in India - a big laugh. Indian education is mostly about rote learning. Who cares if they teach subjects at a later age? QoL, safe society, clean air etc. are non tangible factors that are often overlooked. Yes, you have to struggle for 3-4 years, but the grass is definitely greener. And to your point related to having to do everything yourself - yes, they don't have cheap labour to provide you with that comfort, however, the products are well designed to convene on your own.

We live in usa since 28 yrs, We are ok as our whole family is in abroad, but We recently took a trip to Canada, in Brampton and we were shocked nothing to put down but we felt it’s India except fee things, as everywhere u see Indians, employees are Indians, jn my uncle’s street 99% were Indians, my cousin told me in his class all students are Indians even the teacher and there were some more things that I can’t explain in words, because during childhood when we took trip to same place we felt we came to Canada but not anymore, I think Canadians are tired of Indians they mostlyhave diff ares where most Canadians live and areas where Indian community and we felt lucky we are only traveling here, so it’s better to live in India instead…

You would have stayed at least 6 months cause within 3 months you feel depressing, that's obvious. \nQuality of life is much better than India. Also, try to stay near Indian communities area so don't feel home sick.

Completely agree with you. I spent 6 years in Canada and quit. Both me and my husband are highly educated but had to end up with minimum wage jobs to begin with. Winters are brutal. 2013 we experienced minus 40 with snow storms !! And keeping urself PACKED in ur home for months is extremely depressing. Medical facility inspite of being free is a joke !! You are better off getting basic medicines from India. They want to fix everything with Tylenol, that too such low potency that even 20 pills will not make any difference. And just 1 crocin in India and you can run a marathon next day. Education too is pathetic. They need a calculator to add 5 +5 !! Here 6 yr old kids do mental mathematics on 4 figures in their heads !! No university in Canada can even come close to IIT'S, IIM'S and IISC ever. 12th std math and science here in India is probably taught to engineering degree students on Canada. Moreover only Asian kids like Indians, Koreans Chinese kids ever reach university level education the rest are dropouts and busy with sex and drugs and temporary jobs to fend for the same. Its really bad in Canada right now. I can't visit any Gurudwara because all have turned into Khalistani haven. If you speak in favor of Bharat, they target you and even beat you up. Health care is very bad. I had severe tooth pain but did not get any support . I was asked to come after 4 months. I came back to India for a holiday and I can't convince myself to go back. I was just in Ontario and Quebec, last month with my 13 year old daughter. We talked with many native Canadians during our travels. \n\nThe common theme was too much immigration, without letting the natives feel comfortable about it, or giving time for the immigrants to assimilate. Besides cultural concerns, it really hurts schools, hospitals, and the cost of living. \n\nIt doesn’t appear that Trudeau has much concern for Canadians. I heard a lot of anger directed at him. Especially from eastern Indian immigrants—they were very upset about the forced inoculations. \n\nCanada was very much different than it was just a few short years ago. It’s very sad to see. Hopefully they can get some better direction than what they have now.

Indians need to stop coming to Canada, there are better opportunities in India for the next 50 years. Canadas debt to gdp is 4 times that of Indias . The only reason the country is afloat is because the bond market thinks Canadas debt is better than a country like India. Both have never defaulted on debt obligations but one is closer to doing so than the other.

The medical treatment and facility is much better now in India. You can go to any specialist on one or two days prior appointment. While it takes weeks or some times 3 to 4 months to get to see a specialist in western country. And majority of doctors in western countries are Indians. Over all today's India quality of life and ease of living is much better than earlier years when people use to migrate to Canada ,UK or USA.

In my town in Ontario, in 10 years I went from seeing basically only white people, to now sometimes i am a minority in public because of how many Indian and Philipino people that have moved here. Im glad they moved here and chose my town to call home to better their famlies lives. Good people

A lot of this has to do with the notion that a degree from a foreign university is a guaranteed way to great life. Many students do get to better places with a foreign degree but not all at this level of competition. I being an Indian am ashamed that Indians are doing this to younger aspiring Indians. It should not happen to any one.
