Canada has brought in so many immigrants that's it's become impossibly unaffordable. So ones that would stay here, I can only assume will just go south

Canada brought in 1 million immigrants from Jan 2021- Dec 2023, a 2.5% population increase. That, would be the equivalent of 8.75 million immigrants coming across the southern border over 2 years. Canada doesn't have jobs or housing for many, there's no checks and balances to see who are criminals. America needs to close their borders because 13000 asylum seekers is only the beginning. More and more immigrants to Canada are finding out it's too expensive to live here, and they have no future here. That, will force them south before they choose to go back to where they came from.

You forgot to mention that a large majority of MP’s are landlords or have investments in real estate rentals. The trend was visible since 2004. They’ll keep working as a “international relations” or some sort of public relations relations position for a private company that will give them millions, to use their networks and influence to speed up projects in Canadian communities. They’ll reap the benefits of spending less in the united states, while still sucking Canadians dry through their rental real properties or whatever else they have an interest to spike up the cost of while they are in office.

I'm from Eastern Canada and its absolutely unreal how many Indians I see around. Not a single business have I gone to in months that doesn't have multiple Indians working there, or just Indians. You'd swear they were like 50% of the population. It's crazy what its doing to jobs for locals, both post secondary and not. Let alone housing. Its insane to be in an engineering field with colleagues still living with their parents in their late 20s and early 30s. \n\nI'm very worried for the future political discourse and social cohesion for this country in decades to come if the majority of immigrants that have been brought in are not deported. I've never seen so much crime in my Province in my entire life. About 5 homicides alone in the last month. Absolutely unheard of 10 years ago.

Simple fact is that the new immigrants she is talking about are opportunists and complainers. I am an immigrant of 50 years. I had three jobs by the age of 15. My father, was a determined immigrant from UK who brought us here. He died from Mesothelioma - A rare form of lung cancer directly linked to asbestos exposure. He often worked weekends in the schools where he taught. When they asked him to remove the asbestos from the ceilings of the schools he was happy to help. He, along with similar European immigrants at that time built the infrastructure, hospitals and everything that attracts new immigrants.\n\n My advice to my fellow Canadians? You are only as Canadian as you feel, Canadian as you assert, Canadian as you are prepared to sacrifice. Given enough time, the fairweather folks, previously from Abu Dhabi, Dubai or some other haven will sour and move on. I'm so glad this was brought up.. I'm an immigrant to Canada and my mom has tons and years of experience but she has to work a lower skill job...Canada should have a filtered immigration system that doesn't have to be focused on race, ethnicity

in Ontario, you wait for 12-24hr in an E.R,. . immigrants are struggling to navigate the system, find a home. house prices are more than 3x in the past 10 years. The gov. keeps promising affordable houses. yet more people are brought in than houses are built. i have heard immigrants say that too many are being let in.

I am an Indian student in Canada and I can say that the government here is very corrupt. You will rarely find student over here who came here to study. Many students can't even communicate in English. It is not safe place for Hindus. The main reason of racism over here our community doesn't want to adopt their culture and not follow the rules. Canadian government brought many below average students here and that is the main reason for unemployment.

I live in a small town in BC , every gas station in town here is now owed by Indians (not aboriginal) . They have come in bought two gas stations and the local grocery store . They have laid off the locals and brought in Indians . To which our government pays HALF the wage ! So they are getting preferential treatment . It’s happening all over this country . Oh ya…. When we came 28 years ago 1st time in Montreal there was very limited south Asian immigrants. Health care was top of the world..living standard was best with less expensive housing & other costs.. Now we live in Toronto & after 28 years its a totally different country. Health care is verge of collapse. 6 to 7 hours waiting in Hospital, 3 hours waiting to see a family doctor. No housing for new people. Car theft is high in the world. Lots of drugs in young people. No job for immigrants while local born young people struggling to find jobs. Only highy educated from local universities people gets job. Food cost higher than US, Europe. Large country but 80% people lives close to US borders. Northern part of Canada is empty. Racism getting higher & higher.. All these problems started after Trudeau came in power. During Harper time Canada was top of the world. Trudeau adoped reckless immigration policy. He brought people here without developing infrastructure like new hospitals, schools, housing etc.. Now most of students are living in stress here. 4/5 people living in one room. No job.. Education tuition fees are very high.. Therefore, new people coming to Canada must do their own research before come here. 99% political asylum cases are getting rejected & facing deportation. Students will not get work permit until they finish their course & get a job from employer.. Trudeau time is over. Conservative party will come to power next year & they will make immigration tougher.

I remember once I was doing some work at a Tim Hortons on Vancouver Island, where the staff was almost, if not entirely, Filipino. What made it interesting is that while I was there someone from area or district management came in with 6 more Filipinos and was talking to the manager saying that she just brought her more employees, just just picked them up from the airport and was taking them to their provided accommodations at the University. So Tim Hortons has long been a pipeline for immigration. \n\nJust further highlights the point of larger businesses importing people to subsidize their labor costs. Same thing with BMO.

Both my wife and I are the children of immigrants. When our parents came, they brought their culture and assimilated it to Canadian culture. Modern immigrants simply refuse to do that now. Canada is just a giant club of ethnic groups all doing their own thing without any sort of patriotism or culture to unite us. Gaining PR seemed more difficult over 10 years ago, when Harper was PM. I brought and sponsored my now wife from Hong Kong. Being formerly under British rule, we thought the process from landed to permanent was more streamlined. It was anything but, nor was it cheap. We had to hire an immigration lawyer to navigate the process and to help obtain government documents we didn't know were needed. I had to earn a minimum of $45k annually and provide a place of residence where she'd have to live in for at least 3 years.\n\nThis doesn't seem to be the requirement anymore. And I know for my grandparents back in the 50s-60s, it was just as difficult if not more so then. We need to reintroduce this measure.
