Ask your self why we give money away to foreign countries while others give money as a loan. The world needs the USA. Canada can’t protect Ukraine, Germany,can’t do it. So who will? I can confidently say as a Canadian, what Trump has done and continues to do is driving the biggest wedge between Canada and the USA. As an American and stock investor, I firmly believe that Canada should just ban the export of goods, services and energy products to the US and increase their trade with other countries with the condition that trade will be unbanned once the entire GOP is removed from political power in all three branches of the US. Any automobiles and trucks made by US companies shouldn't be subject to tariff's as they bring jobs to your country. This goes for any US corporation who has factories in Canada.

I voted for Trump, but it's hard not to agree with Trudeau on this even though I find this guy to be extremely unpleasant. There's no reason to start trade wars all over the world and in particular with our neighbors. It's one thing to threaten tariffs and a very different thing to actually apply them. If you do it has to be accompanied by a lot of diplomacy so that the other country is not overreacting, but Trump has been super combative prompting our neighbors to respond in kind to save face. While past deals may not have been great for US, this is not the way to handle our differences. Billionaires like Trump and his friends will be fine, but the majority of ordinary folks in the US and Canada will suffer. Very dumb, indeed.
