Canada doesn't need anymore people from india or alike. If Canada was allowing people in from countries with similar values and beliefs then it wouldn't be an issue. It's going to take a violent revolution to solve this problem. All the established political parties here are all the same and are controlled by billionaires with a twisted vision of what they want the world to look like.

As a Canadian i believe we need to stop this. This is not good for the country as its not good for our taxes. Talking about taxes a lot of people also work under the table (cash only jobs). This wasy they avoid taxes as well. Canada needs to hire undercover agents and make the fines to business owners so high that they would go bankrupt if they employ such people. There are also communities that hire only their people. I do not consider this as intergration to a host nation. A lot of issues that need to be addressed. Thats why i believe we need a strong leader to make Canada good for its law abiding citizens.

Immigrants don’t need to go to Toronto. There are a lot of provinces in Canada, other than ON, where they eventually end up.

I've seen so many ads about immigration to Canada on Instagram, here in Indonesia.\nA former coworker of mine is saving now to hopefully immigrate to Canada one day. \nThe online ads give us impression that Canada is in serious need of immigrants because of birth rate decline. \nI would love to go to Canada and the western countries one day, but not as an immigrant. Why is everyone moving to Toronto. Canada is not Toronto. There are many places in Canada that needs to be developed. Why not develop other places. Toronto is saturated with people. Our resources are depleted. Rents are very high. New immigrants should go live in other parts of Canada. Start communities and businesses in other areas. All new immigrants cannot settle in Toronto. As an Indian immigrant myself, I have tremendous sympathy for Canadians. \n\nThe so called diploma mills were always a danger but online classes during covid meant they could quadruple their attendance (and thus, their bottom line). The degrees offered by these colleges are worthless and that's why anyone who's moved to Canada in the last 4-5 years is finding it difficult to get meaningful employment.\n\nOn the other side, the Canadian dream really is sold as a cheaper and safer alternative to the American Dream. This is especially rampant in the state of Punjab where people from villages sell their ancestral property to move to Canada as students only to find the stalemate that is the job sector.\n\nThis in turn puts pressure on the economy, the housing market, and the welfare programmes. I think the immigration needs to halt for a while. A LOT of students are lacking in technical and linguistic skills to propel the Canadian economy and society forward and they'll need to not be given Permanent Residencies. PR should go to highly skilled immigrants who are integrating into the Canadian society instead of turning Brampton into mini India.

If Canadians think new govt will solve the problem. They are dead wrong. This is the vicious cycle they can not get out. Their own structure can not support pensions and salaries. Yes Canada needs immigration, but you can’t just let all these people in and not adapt all relevant levels of infrastructure as you go along. This is government failure.

Canada needs people for low end/tough jobs, but also high end jobs. The problem is importing a bunch of people into a broken system is not going to do anything but cause problems for the most part. Canada should have invested in the people already here, change the laws and policies, get rid of the red tape and have common sense legislation.

Canada used to have a fairly sane immigration policy - immigrants needed to have a level of education and/or skills that would contribute to areas of Canada's economy and growth - skills or education in fields where there was need for people. Part of the problem now is that so many people are allowed in as refugees, with no usable or useful skills. Another part of the problem is that Canada does not have the infrastructure to accommodate so many more people - we should first build the infrastructure, then allow just the number of people we can house and employ. Another policy should be that our local and provincial governments should have decision making authority where immigrants settle. Huge influxes of people into already crowded urban centers makes no sense - immigrants need to be told what areas of Canada they may go to.\n\nNo culture or group can maintain identity and stability if overwhelmed by large numbers of outsiders. We should limit immigration to the number of foreign cultures and languages that can be successfully integrated into our society.

Let’s stop this madness and go back to when I immigrated to Canada!!! If ur life is in danger and u can prove it then u are allowed, if we need ur skills u are allowed.. that was the rules back then and allowed me to totally become Canadian, in language, culture, and most importantly to be so patriotic toward my home Canada, proud Canadian since 1988

Why leave Canada when they have free health care, no need to work free money from social assistance and even more money if you have kids Canada is welcoming to all foreign prisoners no matter what your crime and the more dishonest you are or smart you can even get even more money from their system. Canada brought in 1 million immigrants from Jan 2021- Dec 2023, a 2.5% population increase. That, would be the equivalent of 8.75 million immigrants coming across the southern border over 2 years. Canada doesn't have jobs or housing for many, there's no checks and balances to see who are criminals. America needs to close their borders because 13000 asylum seekers is only the beginning. More and more immigrants to Canada are finding out it's too expensive to live here, and they have no future here. That, will force them south before they choose to go back to where they came from.

Why does American need a passport to go to Canada, but Mexican and India doesnt?

We are not nice, we are passive aggressive, we love foreigners who come to this country to launder their dirty money in real estate (up up go the housing prices), the RCMP is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (not patrol) and Mexicans who have no previous ties or status in Canada DO need a visa to enter. Canada has accepted an insane amount of Uber / amazon driving immigrants over the past few years to boost the GDP, unfortunately our infrastructure across the country is lacking. We don't have enough homes, schools, hospitals, doctors, good jobs for the people that are already here. Immigrants are conned and sold a lie, going to the USA only makes sense. Many years ago, I was an international student in Canada. I got rejected by US for a visitor visa to attend a scientific conference in US which I needed to present my paper. Instead, only my supervisor could go to the conference. What can I say?!

Why would they keep immigrants there in NY city instead of sending them to Alaska so they do something productive there? The USA should learn a bit more from Canada. I lived there and their immigration system was great because you could get a workplace from the industries that needed workers that couldn't find Canadian workers. Usually you could get a job that is heavy since most Canadians wouldn't like to work building houses or as welders or anything that is heavy-duty. And those job offers used to be located in the north provinces like prince Edward Island or newfoundland, etc etc... and become a permanent resident there in about a year or two. While in Ontario or BC you could get a PR in 5 to 10 years after graduating from college. Immigrants would go to Northern provinces for sure unless they have a big, huge, insulting budget to spend by living in the main cities like Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver or Calgary or Winnipeg.

So what I need to do is identify as an ILLEGAL, go to Canada easily cross the border into New York and get a free vacation. Never mind I look completely European, as long as I say I'm Mexican that's ok, right?

As a Canadian - the immigration tom-foolery that is happening is just as bad up here. Our Prime Minister is a handsome idiot, he was a drama teacher before he became Prime Minister (I know, make that one make sense). He has no idea what he's doing, he's being used as a puppet for more experienced extortionists-erm-politicians. With the help of his party members and a coalition with another party, in less than ten years he has taken Canada from a great place to visit and live to basically what's happening in NY. Crime in our cities has gone up dramatically. Theft is on the rise. Homelessness and drug use is through the roof. Immigration is out of control. And our government also prioritizes immigrants and asylum seekers before born and raised Canadian citizens. As a Canadian who is tired of the nonsense that's been happening in the world this past decade, I wish our government would put on their big boy pants and do something about this uncontrolled immigration. Things are bad here too. Our government seems to keep changing policies and laws to further accomodate the insanity that is happening, I promise, not every Canadian wants these changes to happen. We are just as sick and tired of all this nonsense as our American cousins. I wouldn't be surprised if both countries at some point united in objective and worked together to fix this problem - but that's not gonna happen anytime soon as long as these dummies are in power. But believe me, the regular people of Canada see what you're going through because it's also happening in our own back yard. Context:\n\nAround a year or two ago driving back home with some friends after visiting Niagara Falls, we were pulled over because my car’s headlights were off. I didn’t stop immediately when they turned their police lights on because I didn’t think I did anything wrong but did eventually pull over after realizing they were indeed trying to pull me over. \n\nAfter I pulled over, two officers quickly got out and one of them rushed to my passenger side mirror and very aggressively yelled at me, “why didn’t you pull over” etc. I was very surprised by his reaction and quickly explained that I was a fairly new driver (about 6 months of driving experience at the time). He went away for a few seconds to cool off and later apologized for his behavior (very respectable).\n\nMain Focus:\n\nNow, the interesting part is while the officer was cooling off, the other officer wanted not just my ID but everyone else’s’ in my car as well. I still to this day do not think that is normal, however, I haven’t been pulled over enough to confirm that. Anyways, some of my friends didn’t have officials IDs on them but they did have their student ID. The police wanted that as well. They took a long time to what I assume, conduct a very thorough check on everyone’s ID, making sure nothing is suspicious and everyone is from America. The whole encounter had to be around 20 to 30 minutes long, it was very very long. \n\nTakeaway:\n\nFrom what I experienced that day, I strongly believe that people were at least crossing the northern border around 1 year ago and most likely even earlier. There are bus services that go straight to NYC from Buffalo which is right across the border from Canada to the US. However, I’m not sure if you need ID to use those services. \n\nFor those who read this comment, use this information however you will, I hope it helps even just a little in making some sort of change. \n\nHopefully, there won’t be an increase on how long it takes me to get past border patrol to Canada and back ?. I also hope that our taxes decrease because too much of it are being payed for services to aliens when some of our locals are still stuck in the streets.

While everyone is focused on the southern border, no one has been paying attention to the Northern Border and our Ports of Entry. Its been going on for years. \nThis administration is abusing things like parole authority and the asylum process. \nIt is a lie that the law needs to be changed, the law is perfectly capable of enforcing violations of Immigration law, and processing legitimate claims for political asylum. But this administration refuse to enforce the law. \nWhats worse is that the Northern Border has been stripped of Border Patrol Agents who are sent to the southern border to process illegal aliens. I live on the border between New Brunswick and Maine, and Border Patrol Agents have told me this. \nUnless your an American citizen, its extremely simple to enter Canada. Their immigration laws are very weak, at best.
