I am sri lankan dude born and raised in germany. I work in a company where most are german. They are quite respectful , funny and quite sensitive in terms of racism, homophobia etc. I even hang up and party with them in freetime. The work life balance is insane , much better than USA. If u r sick u r sick , no one dares to question u. All that because of Young People they r different than the older ones in public services etc. . So if u get into a good company everything will be fine. I know its hard...but thats they key.

I'm doing just fine in Canada, where I've lived my whole life except for 7 years in Japan. Any difficulties people having comes down to the individual, not a systematic national problem. My rent in Vancouver is under $1000, because I haven't moved in 11 years. I have no debt, no car, no expensive lifestyle, no drug habit. I made good choices. Others have not.\n\nCanada is still a land of opportunity if you get a job, get your vaccines, live within your means and don't expect a 1950s style economy, anyone can do fine. Healthcare access needs improvement, but we had a pandemic. The whole world did. \n\nIf you feel like you can't make it in Canada, you have no one to blame but yourself. Everything is relative. I moved to Canada upon retirement at age 60. Best decision! I’ve had good experiences with the Ontario and Nova Scotia healthcare. As I didn’t have emergencies, I didn’t wait more than a month for specialists. Canadians don’t like travelling to get appointments sooner which is common in the US. \nMany here think emergency room wait times in the States is much shorter, but I’ve accompanied friends in New York State for treatment only to wait over eight hours. \nHere in Niagara Falls, Canada my ex had a kidney stone causing great pain. The wait time to get morphine and treatment was about 45 min. \nI got a colonoscopy in four days here. In the US I waited three months. \nNo cost or copayments, and there are no in-network requirements that I know of. \nI would not live in the US again. Visiting is just fine!

I appreciate the effort these two women are making to educate Canadians about their own country, but! Not every province and territory celebrates the same holidays, memorials or statutory holidays.\nPeople in Newfoundland are as different from the rest of Canada as the Scots and Irish are in their homelands. Alberta has cowboys, BC has sailors, Saskatchewan has wheat and Manitoba has the Guess Who and mosquitos. Ontario is just arrogant, Quebec is just Quebec. There is NOTHING Canadian about Quebec. If they had it their way they would have been independent since the 1750s. They don't even like to speak English. They do it out of obligation to the federation. \nThe Maritimes are again, unique unto themselves. They could easily be an independent nation and then their true culture would shine. Why they practically speak a different language. They have been here longer than any of us and are in fact the most unique culture in all of Canada with the exception of one very important factor:\nThe First Nations of Canada. Their culture is as different from 'European' as Indian is from Chinese or Russian and Korean. \nAnd they have been here for thousands of years. I completely disagree with the international student english proficiency requirement to get a PGWP (i.e. for all international students). To get into any University program in Canada, you will need to pass an English Language proficiency test like IELTS or TOEFL anyways. At least for my four years of an Engineering degree, three co-op terms and a full-time secured Engineering position, 8 months before graduation you would think this international student knows how to communicate in English :). \n\nYes, there are certain students who just want to get the PR and don't care about the degree they are getting and probably just passed with the minimum IELTS requirement. A solution would be to make certain degrees like college diploma students take the English Language proficiency test again and at least have a language testing system which is free for these people. Spending $300-$400 after spending so much on international tuition fee to graduate from Bachelor's degree is a good policy in my honest opinion.

Many Palestinians are farmers. Countries like UAE or Saudi Arabia have no green pastures or many arable lands. What’s a commodity in the world and affordable by pretty much people, is a luxury in countries like Saudi Arabia. If Israeli and Palestinians can’t get along and most likely won’t get along because not only different mentality but because that Israel itself is very small so conflict over the land isn’t religious or ethnical but rather caused by the size of Israel and the fact that lands used for pastures or irrigation not enough for Israelis and the deficit of good land is one of major reasons. Saudi Arabia United Arab Emirates Iraq Yemen Jordan are a vast desert and there’s no future for Palestinians who are farmers. The South Africa Ukraine Turkey Iran is different. Those countries do have thousands and thousands of good land isn’t that no one cares about

Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. I'm a US citizen living in Honduras. I'm sorry, because this is unrelated, but I want to let people know..... Today I was condemned to fight cancer alone. When my cancer was discovered for the first time, it was because I had seizures. Because of this, I can't drive. Because I can't drive, I can't get a decent job in The US. For a spousal visa, you need to have a certain amount of money. I don't have it. No matter that we have it together - being the citizen, that responsibility is solely on me. A humanitarian visa is $730, and only good for one use. We can't afford that. We went for a tourist visa, with a emergency appointment. They approved the emergency appointment, then promptly denied my husband's visa, without even asking him WHY he wanted to go to The US. Fighting cancer alone is exhausting. Why is that not a good enough reason for my husband to go to The US with me? Only for my appointments. Why is that not good enough? I guess he'll meet my family at my funeral, but not before.

Family helps each other out, those Indians would do anything to keep a family member from living in the streets. This would put their family in shame in their community. Canadians have something to learn from the Indians. By the way their religion disapproves of alcohol & drugs so they don’t have that problem. My husband and I are engineers from the US and Mexico and have lived in Germany for 15 years. Both speak fluent German and have raised three kids here. Yes, many people are racist. But if you learn the language well it’s not that hard to integrate and then things get much better. Germans can be the best friends you’ve ever had, much better than superficial Americans, but it can be hard to break through the shell. We have always loved it here. But to be honest with the steadily declining economy, massive scarcity in housing, and no salary increases in years, we are considering leaving as well. The outlook isn’t good for the Automotive industry and we could make double or triple the salary elsewhere. It would be very difficult to pull up our roots now gs better get better quick or we won’t stay much longer.

In Canada it would have been free of cost. What they did teach me at the alcohol rehab center worked and I had quit drinking in 1990. But after in the early 2000's I started to drink again and after getting blood poison in 2003 I finally gave it up for good and now I have been sober for 21 years. This video is clearly made by someone from a different country. My wife was a social worker, she went from doing 10 cases a month to 100 cases, she was already busy with 10, and alot of them were illegals taking advantage of our system, taking over 6k a month. Thats just one of the many issues over population is causing. Try getting care at a hospital good luck. We need to deport illegals, its a bipartisan issue.
