I cannot believe on his last days as PM, he finally started fighting fentanyl, under the threat of tariffs and he wonders why they still put them in place. I’m sorry that Trump is so unreasonable. Trump only cares about the income that will benefit the rich, himself and power. The tariffs will effects jobs and people. Any automobiles and trucks made by US companies shouldn't be subject to tariff's as they bring jobs to your country. This goes for any US corporation who has factories in Canada.

I voted for Trump, but it's hard not to agree with Trudeau on this even though I find this guy to be extremely unpleasant. There's no reason to start trade wars all over the world and in particular with our neighbors. It's one thing to threaten tariffs and a very different thing to actually apply them. If you do it has to be accompanied by a lot of diplomacy so that the other country is not overreacting, but Trump has been super combative prompting our neighbors to respond in kind to save face. While past deals may not have been great for US, this is not the way to handle our differences. Billionaires like Trump and his friends will be fine, but the majority of ordinary folks in the US and Canada will suffer. Very dumb, indeed.

As a Marine Corps Veteran, a die hard patriot to the USA, and as a Trump Supporter; I do not support this. We shouldn't Impose tariffs on one of our closest allies. It should also be stated I'm not a fan of Trudeau at all, but I commend him for helping out with the fentanyl situation. Also I don't like how Trump is Siding with Russia. However I do understand his stance on not wanting to continue to send Money to Ukraine to keep the war going on longer, As we have sent them Billions of Dollars in the last three years. However as a US citizen I also have to state the the US has a history of supporting countries that were invaded in the past, which we have done up to this point in Ukraine. Correct me if I'm Wrong, but when have we just stopped supporting the invaded country and sided with the Invading country?

Trudeau needs to step down before he completely destroys Canada. Tariffs aren’t new to any the US or any other nation it just seems new to the people who are unaware of this.

The US has all the resources that Canada does, but why harm your lands when you can buy from someone else?...the US is a consumer, but with the ability to self sustain. All you had to do was protect the border and lower the many tariffs you have on US goods. Over a million people in the US have died due to fentanyl and the human trafficking. I'm a canadian who usually agrees with Trump but in this case I feel like this makes no sense. Not sure exactly why Trump is doing all of this but deteriorating relations between us and impacting our economies in such a way makes no sense to me. The stock market is plummeting, jobs on both sides are at risk, prices on both sides of the border will go up. Btw my job won't be affected by these tariffs so i'm not speaking out of anger or fear for my job.

As a Canadian I can tell you it is a supremely miserable feeling to have a nation which we have such strong feeling for strike at us like this. It is equally miserable to know that our tariffs will also cause pain to Americans. We are sorry, and I know that is cliche, but we are. Have no doubt, if you know us at all, we will fight back passionately, vigorously and indefinitely. President Trump has done what no one should ever do: put our backs to the wall.
