This is a very thoughtful and balanced review. As a retired Canadian who had a good job for most of my life, I'm saddened by the decline in almost all areas of life, lifestyle and and people's aspirations in this country. This decline actually seems quite rapid, I would say from 2015 onwards. Housing in major centres was expensive, but it has skyrocketed in the past decade. There has been a decline in many institutions: 1. health-care, especially noticeable since the pandemic that coincided with many boomer medical staff retiring, but also by our sclerotic institutions refusing to enable foreign-trained doctors to work here. Many foreign-trained doctors in the Vancouver area are doing jobs way below their qualifications while many people cannot even get a family doctor. Crazy. Econonically, there seems to have been no plan at all from the government as we exited the pandemic. At least the US had a plan, to 'build back better'. Our government just floats along as if everything is fine, when the decline is very visible especially to older Canadians. We have admitted 1/2 a million people a year from overseas, so our economy should reflect this and show an upswing. But no, we're in a 'technical recession' as of December and probably a real recession as of last week. I have never voted Conservative in my life, but Trudeau is a flaky dimwit with a famous name who has no clue what he is doing. A fool, in fact. He's mismanaged our foreign relations beyond belief, and nothing has improved domestically. When Pierre Poilievre says 'Canada is broken', I believe it. We deserve much better leadership; in Canada's case, the rot does come from the top. Justin the entitled idiot is much more like his mother than his father.\n\nLong rant. Anyway, I just wanted to praise your balance, and your decision to stay for now. Moving from one country to another is a huge life-change and you have worked hard to be here. I only hope conditions improve for you and your husband in the near future. Will look out for your future videos.

You raise some good points but I'm glad you're leaving because people who agitate our country with foreign blood feuds, identity politics, assassinations or airplane bombings are not welcome. Peaceful citizens and immigrants who want to build our nation, whatever their ethnicity are welcome.

I want to give a different perspective. I'm from Singapore. My entire family was here and they have moved back. My sister moved back first because my British brother in law could not take the cold. My brother moved back because he wanted to make money and be rich. My parents moved back to be close to their grandkids. But no way will I move back. Constant heat strokes from the weather, materialistic and shallow people, preference given to married people and families, lack of hinterland and nature, lack of winter sports, and poor LGBTQ+ rights. I have not lived in Singapore since I was 18 and I am also childfree, with no intention of raising a family, only travel locally, and am not into the acquisition of commercial goods for gratification. I love going on roadtrips and skiing every winter and playing hockey year round. I like that I can marry who I love here and can acquire a home without needing to be married. I understand how people who want to make money and raise families would see the brighter side of other countries, but Canada, despite its flaws, is my brighter side.

The question is, Where are you going to go? \nYou both grew up in the West with Western Democratic Values and basic human rights, justice, and freedoms. Islamic countries are very restrictive, and most are ruled by tyrannies, inequality, and injustice, especially for Women, unlike Canada, they do not have good education quality.\nIt is easy to say, I'm leaving Canada but in reality, where is in this world better than Canada to live. There is NO BETTER alternative than Canada.\nEven if you leave Canada today, it won't take long to fly back, restart your life in Canada, and regret what you did.\nEven your children won't stay abroad and they will pressure you to come back to Canada. \nStay here, you'll be glad you did! \nCanada is a Safe country, with freedom, justice, and equality and its social nets to protect families.\n\nAsk your own parents, why they moved to Canada?\nThey will tell you because they lived in those countries and they know for a fact the difference between living in Canada and their home countries, they will tell you they moved to Canada for a better life and they are glad they did. \n\nIf you decide to leave Canada, one day, You will regret what you did.

What I have heard about Canadian policies, they are idiotic - to say it nicely. However, the Canadians clearly want to go on with the existing agendas, so I'm getting tired of these videos claiming that Canadians are not happy. \nNo. They are happy! After living in the GTA for 36 years, I moved back to the Ottawa area and it was the best decision I've ever made. My son moved to Ottawa and lives right downtown in his own 1.5 bedroom apartment paying only 1600. He can walk to all the amenities that he needs. I'm in a small town just outside of Ottawa, where everything I need is only a 4 min drive away. I can walk to most places. Within minutes, I'm out in the countryside surrounded by farms and forest. TO was great for my career, but not a good place to be retired. Unless you and your partner make over 150K, Toronto is not affordable.

Born Canadian here who spent alot of time in Asia... I would never, NEVER move here. However I'm stuck here now so I'll be positive and list the good things I miss when I was away. 1) dairy... love that milk and cheese. 2) ......... thats it sorry

I’m thinking of leaving the UK for good because of the influx of Muslim men coming to live here. It now feels like a third world country because they’ve brought their archaic religious beliefs with them which belong in the dustbin of history.

It's well-connected, plenty of greeneries (many well-maintained public parks), relatively conservative Muslim society, tasty foods, affordable cost of living and foreigners can buy housing (for now, the threshold is RM 1 million). So maybe these can be your considerations :)

Big decision, but so is the world. Have you considered what you would do for a living? I'm sorry I don't know much about your family. \nIf you can work from anywhere in the world, then you have a few choices. Someone suggested Malaysia. I think that is very good option. Its technically advanced, people are kind and warm, living expenses are very reasonable. I have only visited once, but I loved it. Felt completely comfortable (I don't wear the hijab). This was my experience from over 25years ago. \nIf you want to consider an Arab country, I would highly recommend checking out Oman, that is where I am from. I lived in the US for over 25 years, and now I love living in Oman. Its very calm, people are kind and welcoming. Winters are great here, but summers are very hot. Most foreigners who come here, never want to leave. The sense of serenity here is addictive. \nGood luck in your search.

I'm amazed by how many immigrants are surprised at the cost of living in Canada. Don't they do research before moving here? Before i would move anywhere, I would research rent / food costs etc. The other stuff like making friends is harder to research...I am Canadian that has lived in a few other countries and I'm planning to leave at some point, mainly due to cost of living. I will take Greece, Italy, Spain, SE Asia or a few South American countries any day over Canada. Shame as Canada used to be such a good place to live.

This video is a much-needed reality check for those who believe foreign countries are all like fairytales. I'm not saying it's wrong to seek good opportunities abroad, but it might not be the same experience for everyone. It's essential to appreciate what we have here and contribute to the development of our nation. India is a stunningly diverse country. Let's explore and celebrate its beauty.?

Listen Febby, this B.S. has been going on for decades now. I'm almost seventy and it existed when I was a young man. The joke was you want a job get experience, you want experience get a job. It's a catch 22 or the cat chasing his tale. Canada is a country made up of the old ruling elite and there idiot off-spring. So, the only way to keep their kids in the money since most, like American's a dumber than skunks is with this B.S. I spent 10 years working and living in China and although I don't want to go back I too, I Canadian born and breed want to get the hell out of Canada as well. I've worked and waited until I was 70 so as to get a larger pension and if I can afford it, the next time I leave Canada will be the last time and if that happens, I'LL NEVER RETURN. I’m a Canadian living in Asia. Canada is a great place if you have money and a good job and house. If you’re an ordinary person it’s not so good. You’ll be working about 50 weeks a year and living paycheck to paycheck. Vacation? Savings? Buy a house? Probably not

I can understand why people want to leave or not come to Canada, weather, cold weather can last up to six months and the summer isn’t always that great. Another reason, taxes…. Canadians are taxed to death here, you are taxed on everything here and if you make good money and aren’t paying enough taxes, you could pay a good chunk come tax time. Job market sucks, there are lots of jobs but these jobs don’t pay the greatest. Cost of living has skyrocketed over the years and in my personal opinion, since Justin Trudeau has been PM, everything has doubled in cost, so many people are struggling, many young couples can’t afford a house, rent has been on the rise over the years and so many people rely on the food banks, the highest it’s ever been in Canadian history, crime has gone up and drug use has also gone up and oddly enough, ever since Trudeau has been in charge and I’m sure some will disagree with this but Canada was never like this before Trudeau.

I’m a Christian with a very different background from this Muslim family, but we are planning to leave Canada for very similar reasons. This country has gone in the wrong direction and people of good faith are disturbed.

I live in NYC, and have been to Canada at least four times, but the last time I was there was quite some time ago. I always had a good thought about Canada, because it seems like some of the problems we have in this city, Canada also has in some way. Right now the city is a complete mess; at post pandemic and with a bit of a recession and a noticeable increase in groceries to basic things like cat food and tissues. That's not the biggest problem, it really is the legislation or lack of for people who not care for themselves. Those homeless people are almost not helpable and I don't feel threatened by them, but other people definitely do. The way the government has handled these undocumented migrants is a complete disaster and couldn't have come at a worse time. We have a serious housing crisis as well, and people can end up paying for high rent, for not the best places, but they want to live in a certain location. The migrants are coming in at about 60k in the last two weeks. You see mothers with little kids or babies selling candy all over the trains and it's becoming too much. Many see it as a form of child abuse or exploitation and we do not respect it at all. I think they feel we are weak and will just pay double for something we don't need. At one station today I must have be approached 3 times and interrupted 2 times while using my phone. It's just too much and we already have a lot of immigrants here, so I'm not sure where these people believe they will find any meaningful employment and the cold is coming. I wasn't born here, but came legally as an infant. I think the border situation is a disaster and it's obvious to a lot of people that the government lets things happen that will definitely effect citizens in the next couple of decades. The city is crowded enough and I do not know where this is all going, people do not want undocumented migrants house a few hundred feet from a childrens school. I just don't understand how they let this happen....I guess this is how Biden does things and all the groups that cheered buses pulling in when it first started are dwindling down....they just want them passed on to someone elses responsibility, but wouldn't want them as neighborhors necessarily. It's a lot of hypocrisy here. Canada seems better in some places, and the same in others.

Its sad to even have to write this.\n\nWhen central bankers, govt..etc. step in to steal the productive output of the working class, it destroys Capitalism and suplants it with Crony Capitalism. FIRE (Financial, Insurance, Real Estate) speculation prospers while the working class producing real goods and services is financially destroyed.\n\nThe real estate prices are deliberately kept high by artificially restricting supply of housing through all kinds of bureaucratic means. Its main objective is to keep people in debt and working to pay off mortgage debt. A fall in housing prices would undo a lot of the leveraged bets that depend on housing prices staying high -- as happened in 2008 in the US. Main losers of that are banks.\n\nYou can then understand why Canada keeps pushing for more and more immigrants. All pyramid schemes (in this case a debt pyramid scheme) has to expand their base or collapse. It also serves the purpose of wage suppression of the working class so they remain in debt.\n\n\nI don't understand why you came from a prosperous country like Singapore to a lower standard of living in Canada. What did you hope to achieve here that you could not have achieved in Singapore.\n\nUnfortunately, people come to see Canada as a stepping stone to going some place else. \nBut in truth, I'm not sure whether other places are any better.\n\nOne great strength of Canada which Singapore does not have is the vast natural resource base of the country. \nIt remains the one shining star the country can fall back on despite incompetent economists and govt.

I'm from England and have been in Canada 12 years. I completely agree about being isolated, I'm in Manitoba and will be leaving here for good within the next year and heading back to Europe, I've had enough. Canada is also very boring and in my time here I'm so grateful to all the new immigrants I've met from China, India, Philippines, Vietnam etc.. who have been very friendly and kind to me.

Subhanallah. I feel lucky to have been born in Indonesia. Even though there are so many people who live as Islam ID, not practicing Islam as a Muslim should do things like pray and so on. But we have an Islamic environment here, with many mosques (except in Bali, where the majority of the people are Hindus).\nIt's cheap to live here, but not with the education. Even international Islamic boarding schools are so expensive here. If you can get a good job in Jakarta with a good company, you better stay here. \nI'm not sure it's cheap or not, but you can pay min 250 to 430 dollar per month for nanny or helper to clean the house. \nAnd for the weather, we only have two. Summer and rain. Sometimes it rains in the summer. And sometimes it's very hot during the rainy season. Hahahaha. I’m from the US born and raised in chicago, converted while living in Chicago and the Bridgeview community is so amazing Mashallah. I moved to CA when I got married, and the Muslims are dispersed and don’t practice openly. I really don’t love any community I’ve been involved in the past 6 years in CA. In February 2023 we moved to Amman, (my husband was born and raised in Jordan all his family is here) it’s been good but we couldn’t find a source of income so we have to move back to the US. But we’re moving to Chicago now. And if we can afford it, will send our kids to Amman in the summer.

Just remember wherever you guys pick make sure that they speak the same dialect that you do otherwise you're going to have that learning curve of learning their dialects. It is different in a lot of places like learning to speak like the yemeni do is different than the Pakistani. So just keep that in mind. My grandfather is from Yemen and his wife who is my grandmother and my dad's side is from sudan. And they used to tell me it took them a while to understand each other. My Syrian grandmother on my mom's side would teach me words and phrases and my grandpa who was from Yemen would always make fun of me because I wasn't saying stuff right. I'm not really good at speaking Arabic but I can get by so just remember when you guys are picking somewhere to pick a place that won't be that hard to understand people. I'm only saying that because with the kids you guys send the kids to school they may learn a different dialect than what you taught at home and it will be a learning curve for them to try to understand. But I'm sure you guys will make the right decision. I just figured I would throw that in there I'm sure you already know that the dialects are a lot different and Arabic is a lot different in different parts of the world. People think Arabic is all the same and it's really different. Just like people who speak Spanish in South America speak different dialects on the Puerto Ricans just like people in Brazil don't speak Spanish they speak portuguese. Just a thing to think about. Egypt seems to be a pretty good place I have family that live in Egypt and they really liked it but I'm sure you guys will pick a place that's wonderful for your family and I can't wait till you guys know when we can see everything that you guys are doing in your new home Korean and I totally understand I am so upset the United States took the stand that they did with the genocide in Gaza and in the occupied West bank. My country system is secular education system so worse…I lived USA but I grew up in Turkiye I know the schools!!Yes it’s safe no school shootings like USA but the education is not good a especially for religious people I’m religious and long time ago before the Erdogan never allowed to hijab in schools now Erdogan changed but if the other secular politicians win everything changes very quickly I know it !!!Right now economy is going very bad in Turkiye and everything is so high prices !!!I love my country!!But I can tell the truth

If i may suggest you to go check my country Indonesia or my neighbor Malaysia. You can hear calling for pray 5x a day, mosques are everywhere, halal food also everywhere. A lot of choice of education for your children, generally or Islamic ones. And most important thing is the people and government against genocide. We don't have any diplomatic relationship and never acknowledge the state of IsNotReal. Also 1 more thing, living cost here is relatively low compare to Canada or any other countries. If you want a citizenship I don't suggest you go to any gulf countries, of course ignore any war countries, Malaysia and Indonesia have nice people and I think you can get a citizenship there, Jordan might be a good choice you might be able to get a citizenship and there are diverse groups of people but the economy and civil status laws aren't exactly that great, now Egypt is definitely a choice but the country is kinda drifting off of Islam in the recent years, terrible economic conditions and I don't think a citizenship is possible really, I'm not much aware of the Arab west countries but they have their pros and cons definitely, lots of people there speak other languages and there's some beautiful culture and a considerable amount of political safety compared to other countries in the region, other than the occupation Palestine would've been a great choice lots of foreigners live here but I'm not sure what requirements you need for that and I'm pretty sure they probably wouldn't let you do so as Muslims, I have very little knowledge but I wanted to share what I can, I hope it helps.
