canadian military will take transgender military members. Our military pays for the surgery, gives free counselors. There are a lot of conservatives in the canadian military, including my husband, and he works with a lot of transgender people and no one cares. IF someone wants to transition no one cares, if someone wants to be they/them no one cares. They lives their lives and get the job done. No place in the military for this garbage. Women serving are fantastic. My wife is a Navy Chief. She maintains that women can do any job male Sailors do AS LONG AS STANDARDS ARE MET AND NOT LOWERED. This person has spent the large majority of their military career as a man. Both combat deployments were well before they transitioned. People who require inhalers cannot be deployed- meaning someone who is reliant on constant medication cannot be deployed. This person is no longer deployable, and by definition no longer fit to serve. That doesn’t erase what they’ve done- but allowing trans people in the military and to allow them to transition during their service severely blurs the lines.
