Most of Germans are really good people and friendly nothing against them but Germany itself is not immigrant friendly racism is pretty much on the rise ,low wages , little or no opportunities, my wife handles international clients and she says German client s are the worst in behavior they sound rude and entitled. If I'm a skilled person and want to move to Germany first and foremost you need to learn most difficult language in world and master it nothings wrong there but why would I when I could just go with English and move to other English speaking countries which offers more opportunities or atleast learn french that would be even more beneficial. Germany was known for it's low cost education system and other benefits it provide for students but sadly enough jobs are not there. If you want to attract international talent first atleast create an atmosphere for them but really sorry to say these but Germany feels hostile towards immigrants. Big MNCs are seeing all these and saying why are we here if we cannot hire international talent and slowly they are walking out of there and moving on to other countries ? and now you got serious issue here and people have only themselves to blame ?. Go taken out anti immigrant marches and go with conservative approach nothing new for Germany in the end German economy always ends up in toilet.

As a FRENCH individual, here is my perspective; we humans look for what is good for us!!! I am French (I consider myself very lucky as France is a very stable and prosperous economy) but many French also look for better opportunities abroad, namely in Switzerland (higher salary and better work packages but that influx created a xenophobia against French living in Swiss) and the US (tech jobs mainly, which are better paid than in France)!!! We ALL do it!!! Many white South African women also do everything to marry British, Germans, Canadians on purpose (the media never mentions that and we know why) so that they can escape the extreme environment in South Africa!!!! It is just that the media tends to focus on black and brown people as it sells better!!! Ohhh and did you forget those many North Americans who flock to Mexico, and South America to run away from the horrendous cost of living!!!! Same for those many Canadians (a common trend those last years) who start to flock into the US to run away from higher living costs in Canada and for higher paid jobs in the US!!!! Okay may be some lesser developed countries do it but let’s realize that WE Europeans also move and emigrate when things turn “grill our ar**s” where we live!!!! Ohhh and have we forgotten already those Italians who moved to France in 1900s to escape misery and hunger in Italy!!!! Ohhh …. we already forgot!!!! And what about the Ukrainians, many of whom come to Canada now and take jobs and reap benefits from the local? Some even “taking” others husbands and breaking locals’marriages (happened to a colleague of mine last year)!!! Ohh sorry, you guys are still very busy focusing on the ones that are …. Honestly this is a worldwide problem affecting not only first world countries but also growing economies, Im Mexican and a big wave of first world immigrants to my country have raised the prices in housing, food, etc, a lot of us has been forced to move to find more affordable prices, since previous rents doubled or in some cases got triplicated.\n\nAnd I know they are moving because the situation in their own countries have gone so hard that everyone is looking for a better chance, the world governments needs to do something because life is getting hard for EVERYONE.

Why do governments always see things 'in hindsight?' Regular everyday, working Americans and Canadians saw it YEARS AGO that this would happen. The problem is simple. If its an issue of cost of living, while its true that it is very high, its very high across the industrialized world. That is because the causes influencing cost of living are not related to inside Canada but are being influenced by foreign actors which Canada has no control over. The Ukraine-Russia War for example is causing increases to food costs which are not easily overcome. The situation in the Middle East between Hamas and Israel threatens to spiral into a regional war and that threatens the oil supply and the present price for oil and gas. The Houthi have been making it hard to traverse the Red Sea which is forcing shipping to travel around Africa rather than directly through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea meaning those additional fuel costs get transferred over to the consumer. As for housing, while efforts to cool housing markets have been made, Canada's housing market is still relatively hot meaning the prices remain high in big cities. Its like a perfect storm. Increased costs on mortgages are an attempt to push down inflation but in the short term you are going to feel that as well. Also we are living in a transition period as the world sinks back to the older model of trade before before Bretton Woods in 1947 which is leading to a decoupling of product lines that at one time coming from Asia were cheap but are not more expensive because they are being made back in the home countries. Transitions do come with a price. Finally, add taxes which help to deal with health care, social programs and government services like embassies, foreign missions and the army well yeah its a perfect storm.\n\nI hope you have luck where you end up but do not for a minute assume that the grass is greener on the other side. Even Japan which attempts to keep certain costs low, has been forced to increase its national consumption taxes to offset overall costs. It isn't going to get cheaper but more expensive as we move back to the old trade model. However, as the world weans itself off of the World Trade Organization and the IMF, the world also re-opens the potential to a Great Depression because that was the reason Bretton Woods appeared in the first place. The world isn't going to get better but far worse.

I moved here 4 years ago from Delhi, the capital city of India and a metropolitan. Why are international students still coming to Canada when they can take the studies ONLINE and then apply properly to our country for citizenship? That’s a wise move! Then we have educated people who are proving themselves that they want to simulate Canadian people! You don’t bring your culture and force it down our throats! You BECOME Canadian!

With the premise that over the arc of 40 years we had two exceptional wonderful Indian family doctors, the current crop of immigrants are a disgusting representation of their country of origin! In which reality do they think it’s ok to defecate in public, be it at a public beach or in front of a pump at a gas station? Im a 34 yr old Canadian and share the exact same view as you about this country. \nMy husband, myself and our tow kids moved to Mexico a few years ago, as well as a few friends of ours, and leaving Canada was like getting out of a toxic relationship lol Once you're out of the 'bubble' that Canada has created for it's citizens you see just how sour it has become. \nThat being said, we did move back to Canada to buy some land far north Alberta-only because we have small kids and want them to be around family-but if it was just my husband and myself we DEFINITELY would have stayed in Mexico. \nMexico feels safer, its beautiful there all over the country, the people have wonderful community and live life fully, the culture is enthralling, the food is BETTER in every way, the language (Spanish) is a fun element to life, and best of all-in Mexico, you are out of the censorship and the 'fear bubble' in Canada. You see it all over headlines, you hear it on the radio, it comes out of everyone's mouths in Canada-obsessed with 'safety' and everyone is terrified of living. Now that we're back we're very aware of it and do our best to ignore it and block it out. \n\nMoving abroad is a lot of work, but I would do it again in a heartbeat and recommend it. If you are able to, just do it.

This is a tough video to watch. It's even more difficult to read the comments. I moved here 4 years ago from California, and Germany is the fifth foreign country in which I have lived and worked. I am undecided about whether or not I would recommend coming here or not. I have just finished a PhD in a German university, and while I don't regret it, I would not repeat the experience. \n\nThe country is simply too behind and too naive (to a near childlike extent) in just about everything. Their vision far exceeds their competence, and they are an antithesis to efficiency and professional accountability. Culturally, I prefer Germany to any other country where I have lived. But professionally, I cannot see myself staying here. No matter how well-intentioned they are, they're not going to change for the better any time soon.

I am so thankful I have Greek and Macedonian citizenship. As soon as I'm done with my education, I'm moving back to Greece or Macedonia, somewhere there are hardly any Indians. I literally get lucky to see 4-5 white, black, or latinos a day in my city, the rest are all Indian, Pakistani, and Arabs. I don't feel like I'm living in Canada anymore, I feel like I'm living in the Middle-East. I only have 2 more years of university and then if I don't go to Greece or Macedonia, it'll be because there's too many Middle-Easterners there too, and I will go someplace like Korea or Vietnam, where there are practically no Middle-Eastern people. Sorry, but you're right about them being rude, and they act like they're entitled to everything. It's disgusting and I've had enough. The problem will only get worse even if we shutdown immigration, because there are so many here already, and they don't have kids, they have litters of 5-10 children per family. Soon the whole country will just be Middle-Eastern, just give it a few decades. If you can get out of Canada and go someplace else, I suggest you do now, before it's too late.

I went to high school in Brampton Ontario, in the mid 80's and there were no Indian immigrants anywhere. After high school, I moved to Montreal to work as a fashion designer, (I have to mention the shock I experienced whenever I would fly into Toronto for business... when I went to get a taxi, there was always a massive line of Indian taxi drivers standing outside next to their taxis. I had the feeling that I was no longer in Canada, but somehow ended up in India?) Having lived in Montreal for 30 years, I recently moved to Guelph Ontario, to be closer to family and I was shocked to see how many Indians had moved there, (going to the dog park, I was informed by the people there, that Brampton was called Bramladesh and Guelph was turning into another Bramladesh.) There was a massive temple built in Guelph a few years ago and suddenly Guelph was invaded by Indian immigrants, with every house put up for sale bought by an Indian family, (the husband, his wife and their kids, the brother and his wife, their mother and father, all living in a 3 bedroom house with 3 cars in a 1 car driveway, (for some strange reason they all choose to dig up the black asphalt driveway and replace it with white concrete??) So yeah, the white people in Guelph are fleeing en mass, as it becomes impossible to sit in the back yard, or open a window, without choking on the powerful stench of spices coming from the Indians living next door... it's like being punched in the face from the horrific smell when you walk your dog and pass by one of their homes! That said, it feels like their goal is 'global domination' and with 2 billion people living in India today, it's just a matter of time before they all decide to leave the most over populated, the most polluted and the most corrupt country on the planet, and move to Canada!

My Indian parents came to Canada from Dubai in the early 80s and I grew up in Canada. The problem is, the Indians coming to Canada now are not the immigrants who used to come here. 20- 50 years ago, when immigrants came to Canada, they understood that they are moving to a new country with different laws, values and culture and they have to assimilate accordingly because they planned to call Canada home. To get into Canada, you had to have some level of higher education or investment means to help develop and add to the economy. But now, over the last 10-15 years, the kind of people coming in are straight out of the villages (mainly north Indians), with no education, low societal values, no care for assimilating and are even criminals who were wanted in India. By using Canada's study permit program, hundreds of thousands of Indians came here with the explicit plan to stay and never go back. To make matters worse, they feel now that they are in Canada, they can break the rules, break the laws and commit heinous crimes. If you look at the Toronto news now, it is ONLY Indians (mainly Punjabi's) committing most of the crimes from extortion to drug dealing to carjacking etc. Even the Indo Canadian community can't stand the people coming to Canada over the last few years, it is NOT a race issue! The issue is too many people from a different culture who don't assimilate!

Ohhh and did you forget those many North Americans who flock to Mexico, and South America to run away from the horrendous cost of living!!!! Same for those many Canadians (a common trend those last years) who start to flock into the US to run away from higher living costs in Canada and for higher paid jobs in the US!!!! Okay may be some lesser developed countries do it but let’s realize that WE Europeans also move and emigrate when things turn “grill our ar**s” where we live!!!! Ohhh and have we forgotten already those Italians who moved to France in 1900s to escape misery and hunger in Italy!!!! Ohhh …. we already forgot!!!! And what about the Ukrainians, many of whom come to Canada now and take jobs and reap benefits from the local? Some even “taking” others husbands and breaking locals’marriages (happened to a colleague of mine last year)!!! Ohh sorry, you guys are still very busy focusing on the ones that are …. It is law of the land, like it or not just accept it. I did my masters from United States, and later worked there for a decade. As person born in India, I can never get green card of the United States. After leaving to India for good, I realized I cannot adjust in India, US would never accept me, so I came to Canada. But like every person who moved from US to Canada, not a day goes without missing the US. People in Canada are amazed why I left US and came to Canada. People from other country of birth can easily get US green card and eventually citizenship, but I can never get one. So should I start hating the US? Nope. I am grateful to US for everything. I came from a poor family in India, with less than 8000 USD in my parents saving. I studied in US free of cost sponsored by research grants, did top notch academic research, and worked on top notch industrial research. Due to which I had no issues finding job in India, and directly got interview and job offer in Canada, Sweden and UK while sitting at my home in India.\nUS would always be my home, does not matter I have a green card or not. I would always remember US and miss it, in good memory.

I’m an Indian and not a major fan of Trudeau however, I like this move. This will let the Govt of India know OPEN their Eyes ? and know that DRASTIC changes and policies needs to be implemented in their own country to crack down on the ongoing unemployment problems and the shortfalls of its own administration. \nSo for that, kudos to Trudeau ????

Just remember, just because the majority of commenters here are not happy with Germany, it doesnt mean that all immigrants there are having a rough time ? there are plenty of happy ones too. \n\nPlenty of reports like this also showing unhappy people moving out of other countries like the Netherlands too. ie. Indian comments say India is the best country. If so why are Indian so desperate to leave India and move to the America ???

Canadians were inviting and Indian's took full advantage of this. They abuse our system I find them very dishonest and rude when you move to another country it is your responsibility to fit in not take over and try to turn that country into your country you follow the rules of that country.but you don't follow the rules you try to change them to suit yourselves. And when confronted were all racist. If you can't abide by our laws and rules stay in your own country

The people are moving away to get away from the Indians and only third world people coming to Canada now so soon Canada will be a third world country. It takes 6 people to buy a house now its 10 to 16 people living in a house now no more single family. Ghetto

Me and my husband were considering moving to Vancouver ten years ago. Soon we realized that we wouldn't be able to make enough money to support the same standard of living as we are used to in our home country, Hungary. This summer we spent our vacation in Toronto and Vancouver, and it was a wonderful experience. However, prices went up, housing is insane. Even though we both work in IT and have connections, it seems impossible to get a salary enough for rent and food, not to mention mobility. Healthcare is also a factor. \nI hope we'll be able to visit Canada again someday though.

I am Muslim and moved to Montreal with my family of 8 ( two wives and 6 offspring ) on Asylum. We were granted PR very very quickly. I was able to marry another woman and she is pregnant with my 7th child. We are all giving free healthcare, subsidized housing and food stamps. I take care of my family and help my fellow Muslims to come to Canada. This is one of the best countries to live.

In your opening you were telling the Australian story too of paradise fumbled in the last decade or two, until you got to the homeless encampments, public opioid epidemic and laxness on crime, which hasn't gotten such a move-on here as yet. But there's no doubt that Western governments in general have refused to grapple with the rising problems of the 21st Century and done their best to import the troubles of the world. Thing is, whenever I see the news from other countries it's no better and usually worse so maybe, ironically, that small town in Saskatchewan will look better than you gave it credit for once your travels are done.

You come to Canada, presumably for a better education. Take this knowledge, and your skill set back to India, to make it a better place to live. Otherwise, Canada becomes a country of Indians. Simple math, 1.6 BN Indians, 40 MN Canadians. What percentage of Indians, Chinese, and others have to move to Canada to eventually become the majority?
