P P....prejudice portoricans....i have had puerta Ricans call me and tell me to move out of kissiimmee because its not for white people anymore. There are Puerto Rican stores that I have tried to shop in. My black friend Shirley also does not get waited on.

I knew pink folks, who use a brown friend to be followed, while the pink foks cleaned out the store..\n\nThey can turn the alarm on anytime. I was so sick of the Walmart in Gurnee, Illinois turning on the alarm, that I had an employee walk out my cart, and alarm never went off. I decided to just shop online, and use home delivery.

What is the disparity of shop lifters, could that be a reason?

It’s not a surprise to see this happening in Canada Let’s be honest guys.\nEven I went to Costco, little boy said “ why are you guys shopping here if you are not speaking English now”\nI will Never Ever forget how he made his face to me

I thought it was my imagination that I was constantly being picked out while shopping. What a relief that I'm not the only one:(

Your question to the RCMP officer was stupid He is paid to follow orders While he is at work his personal opinion does not matter What were you trying to do shame him for doing his job Go back to school and learn a little finesse and gracefulness You are like a bull in a china shop Oh and bye the way Trudeau as much as i think he is a bad leader did not say that Canadians were restricted from returning home

I worked at future shop as store manager in trainee. We were trained to treat others as you wanna be treated. But again chain owned by Iranian and out of 4 GM’s 3 were from visible minority. But I got promoted to MIT when my immediate boss and GM were Caucasian’s.

2020-03-09 0
Because of this I never ever window shop, if I go into some place I will buy something. Even then you get harassed sometimes or notice things.

Its so nerve racking shopping as a black man. Most of it is because of other black people who actually stealing that cause us not to be allowed to shop in high fashion places

I’m white as a sheet and American. I was followed around an Arabic leather store and treated like a potential shop lifter. I was exchanging a jacket. This happen in the Riverwalk Mall in New Orleans.

But if I went to Jamaica and tried purchase items from the street shops and vendors I would get totally taken advantage of because I'm white........................

I found 2 walking around the clothes and again manager said in aloud voice get in that dressing room this is how they operate good grief I thought this is crazy I don't see them doing anything... They all 3 finally left.. My manager said to me watch when three comes in that's their operation.. I was dum founded of the whole thing.. So glad they left and never came back..... They were laughing and talking among each other the whole time and my manager was going crazy until they left . That was my first experience in shop lifting.. ...

Well, I mean this isn’t racism. It’s just reality, cause statistically black people stole from my shop more than any other race and I’m black.
2020-02-13 0
As a black person I just shop online cause I'm tired of these weird people. Last time I went in the store I told em, you look at me like I don't know I'm black. I know exactly what I look like and you think I'm going to steal. Smh

More BS let's blame the whites again. Another thing if anybody was standing in a shop for 20 minutes not buying anything, you are going to have staff come up and ask to help that's there job, you people are sick in the head to believe this nonsense.
2020-02-02 0
Omg ? most of us will have some kind of experience in racial profiling in our lifetime..from rental..shopping to recruitment sadly...great supporter for the blind recruitment idea!! Great video!!
2020-01-30 0
It isn't one way. There are landlords and companies that belong to minorities that don't employ people of a different colour to them, how about reporting on that.\n\n\n\nAs a white person, I have been followed about in a shop, so don't think it is due to racism.
2020-01-29 0
Yes, if you don't believe so. I challenge anyone to make friends an obvious ethic minority and spend 6months with them regularly. It will become obvious. A massive percentage of Canadians are not and wonderful people. Many are unfortunately. Jobs, promotions, finance, houses, shopping, etc. Just look at stats Canada records.
2020-01-26 0
If you are a store owner and if for instance five out of ten shop lifters you caught in the past were a person of certain race; isn’t it only natural to be more wary of the group that had the highest ratio of shop lifters? This is not bc of racism but rather due to your experience.
2020-01-25 0
I don't agree with companies following people, if you suspect a customer of shop lifting, call the police or confront them. Easy.
2020-01-23 0
Go shop at canadian tire, you'll be the one looking for staff who can help you.... hahaha
2020-01-21 0
I do experience this in stores but I never knew why they were hovering. I thought they were stocking up or just checking for items, I never paid attention. And I won't pay attention, I would just shop and pay and leave. Life is too short

Drugmart all you've done is make no1 shop their and have every one wanna hug Leland. He's adorable and your all bottom of the barrell Sophia or Boots....

As a shop assistant we are actually told by bosses to approach any customers that seem to be looking for something to offer them help nothing to do with their colour all todo with customer service if they can’t find what they’re looking for

I have no understanding as to why this even still needs to be tested. All this does is make ones feel worse about themselves. This is why we need OUR OWN shopping districs... all first nation indigenous black people. That way we have choices...

Many, many years ago my bf and I were in Shoppers Drug Mart. We are both black and was there to buy contraceptives. He was in one aisle and I was shopping in another. After we bought our items their security followed us down the mall, stopped us, grabbed his arm and started leading him back to the store. They brought us to the back. They accused him of stealing. Made him empty his pockets and bag. When she didnt find anything, she said sorry and let us go. We couldn't tell our parents because at the time they didnt know we were sexually active. The security officer's boss offered us a $25 gift certificate- we didnt take it. I still hate going into their store.

I'm a white man with dreadlocks.. I'm constantly being discriminate against.. by shop keepers and the police..
2020-01-14 0
Well what I’ve learned of this video. Is that white people could shop lift without being detected.?White privileged goes a long way....?

I’ve been accused of racially profiling someone. Because my coworker asked them if then needed assistance & then I did without realizing she already had. She thought we were the same person. I guess because we are both white with brown hair? Felt awful afterward. Not sure why people would even think to spy on people of colour whilst shopping. Usually (in my experience) the people who steal seem sketchy - they won’t make eye contact, are standoffish etc. Those are the people to keep an eye on. You’re just wasting your time otherwise. I get followed quite frequently. It’s pretty funny because I’ve never stolen anything from a store in my life

Im surprised Canada allowed this to get this far. Anyone covering themselves up is very suspicious. Muslims need to stop pushing their fake religion into mainstream. U don’t see Christians wearing robes to work. The Muslim fake religion is based on nothing real, my Muslim friend said. Jesus was a real person. There is no real basis to their religion. If I see someone covered up, I do not shop at that store for fear of a shootout. Any lunatic can be under scarves in banks, Churches or schools. In this chaotic world which Muslims have contributed a lot to, we do not need to be covering ourselves up, especially suppressed women from archaic views made by man, not God.

BURKHA women are the biggest theif in supermarket, walmart and lot of shops they hide under burkha and loot country

It's winter, i walk into town along a slush covered road, down a long hill - a woman struggles uphill carrying several bags of shopping - wearing a full burqa..the wind is almost blowing her backwards and she is struggling - my thoughts are 'cumbersome outfit for this climate'. i walk past the local synagogue, some Hassidic men are chatting outside most have one hand on their head, one man is picking his hat up and brushing slush off from it - my thoughts are 'im glad im wearing an elasticated beanie in this wind'\nlater on i walk past my local nightclub and there is a long line of young girls wearing very short skirts, high heels and sleeveless tops - with matching blue skin, my thoughts are twofold, first - hypothermia someone should tell them, second is -fashion, it may look cool in Naples, but this far north - in winter?...ridiculous.\npoint is, people wear clothing for various reasons, religious, cultural, social or just comfort. they dont choose to wear items because they desire to intimidate, but because it appeals to them, or their sense of self or cultural or religious identity.\nwe should respect that.\nif a piece of clothing intimidates or frightens you so much, you may have some deep psychological issues.

i a white dude living in Canada and I've been followed shopping in stores.

Is this shop following reasoned by some statistic saying that black people shoplift more often than white?
2019-11-23 7
And this is EXACTLY why amazon is getting so much business. I would rather shop online than be harassed!
2019-11-18 0
They had to shut down a strip mall that black people frequented and teft rose up in every store. There is a bases in facts . Kmart had to close as theft rose as more blacks shopped there... it rose to the point of theft by 50%. Its not the person, its the community.

It’s all on where you live and who you live around. There are like 7 black families in our town. There are no black folks to harass. The police and shop owners harass white people. They profile you on what you wear. What condition vehicle you drive or the way you look. In areas with lots of black folks they follow and harass black folks. \n\nI’m not saying it doesn’t exist. What I’m saying is it’s not everywhere like these videos make it out to be. Most of the time it has nothing to do with racism.

While you are out shopping.\n\n“Can I help you something?” \n\n“Oh yeah, you are definitely helping with something.......when it comes to making this documentary.”

When I worked at Target Canada they said to ask everyone if you can help them find anything. For two reasons 1. Help the person, 2. Let them know that employees are paying attention to them to deter shop lifting.
