My dude you just said that health care is never discussed in american politics. \n\nAlso, all these people saying that health care in Canada takes years and years for things that take weeks in the US are typically full of it. Yeah. Some provinces that shall remain nameless like to break contracts with health care professionals, resulting in shortages of certain types of workers. \n\nI live in remote northish parts of my province (not NWT, Yukon, or Nunavut), and 6 years ago I was diagnosed w/ lymphoma. They had me set up to do chemotherapy treatment within 2 weeks. They wanted me to start that weekend, but I needed the time to put my work in order for me to be gone for an extended period, get applications set up for EI/Healthcare claims, and figure out who in my family I wanted to share the information with. \n\nIn Canada you end up waiting for elective surgeries and treatments, because they aren't critical by virtue of being elective. That's about it. If you need an elective and have 10K in your pocket not doing anything, go ahead and go to the states.

This is an injustice to Native Americans and Indigenous Nations that they can not even travel on their own land while foreigners go wherever they want to go on it including to Mexico!

Knee surgery comparison is a poor comparison. You chose self inflicted medical down time. The individual requiring knee surgery did not. You took down time because changing your gender identity was something you felt you needed, which isn't putting the service of your country first. I don't choose myself over my people - period. I don't believe that is the merit of a good leader. I don't believe the excellence in your skill set comes from an inability to establish personally what gender you want to be. Results in combat and protecting what's right in the air and on the battlefield have little to do with wanting to be a woman or a man. Get the job done, be a silent operator. It seems to me, that you care more about your gender than you do about your service to your country. I hope in the end, you get everything your heart desires. I truly do. But I hope you recognise that the world isn't fair. I don't think this piece by CNN is more important than covering what's going on in the lives of those suffering that need the air time more than this individual. Further more, the reporter - she just looks like an angry woman who isn't getting what she wants. She doesn't appear to be unbiased at all. It's not a good reflection for the CNN. I think fair reporting is fair, I also believe one should come across as unbiased when reporting fairly, here the reporter has failed to do so in my opinion. Out

If anyone has seen a trans person who is going through any psychological stress or issues, you know that they can be some of the most viable and erratic people. You certainly would not want to give them an M4 rifle or anything of the sort. the fact is, they were given a slew of dangerous chemicals to try and let their bodies mimic being another gender. But they never were another gender and their psyche starts to scream out against themselves.

Transgenders qualification are not the issue, society is. I don't see Trump views are going to change any time soon. Why would you stay where you're not wanted? If the Military doesn't want you and your talents, find another career where you will be TRULY VALUED.

The thing about trans in military. They are gonna cry when a soldier calls them by their correct gender and not go by what they want to be called then the soldiers are gonna get in trouble for it.

People mad that we are going to tariff (tax) other countries who benefit from doing business with the U.S. but okay with the government placing tarrifs on our own peoples income for working and contributing to the local economy through commerce. Tariffs seem more fair. At least if they want to reduce the spending they do less business with the U.S. we have to work for an income to even live here. I guarantee most people have met a transgender and didn't even know it. I took a course at work and both instructors had transition from female to male. You would never know unless they told you. When I was in this stuff was not an issue! I’m from Vancouver bc and it upsets me that this site keeps saying oh we need skilled workers not labourers I’m a skilled worker born and bred in bc 10 years experience painter can’t get a job unless I get 10$ less per hour than 2014 and carpentry same thing. The employers want only Indian and Mexican workers because there cheap. This Friday I’m going homeless with my dog because I can’t find work or affordable housing. Government saying we need skilled workers is a scam they want cheap workers no sense of safety or Canadian culture. How did the government let this happen we’re fucked also how did wages not go up when cost of living doubled I don’t care about being able to buy a 1.5 million dollar house but the locals should be able to get by
