im half white half hispanic, grew up in a barrow and couldnt get a job because I had a white last name. it goes both ways, don't act like white people dont get discriminated against. oh, and yes white people discriminate against me too. mexicans think im white, whites think im mexican. I have it worse than y'all, no people to belong to

I am really fed up with this eternal racial stereotyping of white people. You'd think whites were the only racists on this planet. Not so. Not at all.

Moving to Vancouver was a great experience tbh, I'm of nigerian heritage but was born in Finchley, North London...\nCanadians are friendly and extremely welcoming ( Coming from the UK i found this so off-putting ) lol. Ironically its non-white Canadians i had funny experiences with.... from dating to renting its weird\n\n\nAsians under 27 always asking some crazy questions ( Are you an NBA player ) lol it's cute at first but after a while when little koreans walk up to me talking about ( You look like will smith ) it makes you think... To be fair these are not inherent negatives, But asian canadians alone did treat me weird i found, Indian girls i met all wanted to be with me but where also very ashamed to say so or let their family know, but thats a cultural thing so i understood.\n\n\n Of all the demographics White canadian and native men where the most welcoming and open to me, in my experience.. White women of-course where cool too but that does not really count, especially as a good looking black guy with an accent LOOL you know how that goes!! My Tinder and Bumble were obscene LMAO\n\nRenting from asians while black and Male!? is almost impossible!!! Except they think you have rich parents!! Its impossible in Van unless you are an Arab exchange student lol \nArab and Persian students studying english have no issues renting in Vancouver, for some reason!!\n\nI lived out the St. Regis downtown for a month, Looking for places to rent, i had seen so many places online and filled out applications but never got call backs, asides from 2 group showings i went to, i could not even set up a viewing with the apartment building i wanted... \n\nTill i met an african girl in school, and she told me something i found completely crazy.\nShe told me to make a new e-mail addy and to use my English name when i e-mail, then set up a viewing but to show up with a white friend preferably a girl and that if the owner is asian, i should look around, and offer to pay 6months upfront before they get a chance to ask what i did for work or whether i was a student or not LOL. Needless to say, i did what she said and It worked the asian lady asked me to come get the keys later that day. Its just life, as a property owner they really just wanna size you up, not fair and kind of pathetic but its not inherently evil...

Asian racists are going to be a lot more of a problem than white racists. Asians could not care less what you think about them and are not capable of being guilted like spineless whites. I am a lot more concerned, as a brown person, about Asian discrimination which will become increasingly more powerful as there are more and more in charge of the community.

I'm a white male, between 40 and 50, and out of 100 applications I've received maybe 20 replies by e-mail and 1 reply by phone. That leaves 79 non responses. \nThat's the way things are today. This test is a bit flawed. I’m white and I have been profiled my whole life. Get rid of the preppy looking white dude a put a white guy in there that has a couple tattoos and your entire test falls apart. That’s exactly why I get profiled when I enter a bank, store or even a police station. Cops are more prone to pull me over and I understand why. Does that make it correct? NOT let my son get my medicine and it's hard for me to walk around and I called him up and ask why \nand then I did get my medicine and I never did have no more trouble out them after my doctor ball to out they against my son but people listen at this we're not African American where are we we are not I seen the kind of thing two we was up to the courthouse and these police officers was looking at me and laughing I'm an overweight woman and overweight people gets treated bad we get laughed at we get made fun of and every way I got jerked around at the courthouse in Anderson they really treated me horribly and I think it was because I was overweight and they was very rude and nasty to every customer to come in and I don't know why to me it always pointed out and all I'll be pointed out so it's not only African Americans but it's people like myself that has a weight problem I I am A obesity white woman

Yall understand a narrative, but you lack basic biological/genetic science, or even unguided common sense; All races are more comfortable with their own because they know them better when they are the same culture, background, and ethnicity. Yes I ran into racial profiling when I wanted to ask why CBC is biased and won't report fairly. Being white and male, I was told that my opinion is invalid, and in spite of the taxes I pay for their wages, I don't have any say. Moreover, because I am male, CBC's supreme leader Trudeau has dictated I am not allowed any sort of platform. This is an important issue! Why do you think these sterotypes are so prevalent CBC? Crime statistics? Day to day crime by certain groups? CBC hates the question why because it conflicts with their bias as mandated by identity politics. Once I can walk through any place in Canada and not simply see, with my own eyes, the obvious differences between people based on color, or am treated like a direct decendant of slave owners by our state run media, maybe then the forty-thousand years worth of tribal cues ingrained in me will change. Are there really no examples of white men changing the narrative? No exmples you can provide for us devils to follow? No studies on private donors who are trying to help? Im white I grew up in a town thats mostly black .you want to know about racism its on both sides no one called me by name its that white boy or you look good for a white boy and if i was in a store and 4or5 people asked if i needed help i would think they are doing there job or just wanted to be helpful but thats not the same thing as being followed racism is mostly a male thing from my experience

I don't think they should be uncomfortable with those results. Most people lean toward what they are surrounded by...and depending on where black people are located, they are surrounded by white people in person and/or in media. Our concepts of safe, pleasant, and beauty are manipulated the same as everyone else where we are. That's why you get little white girls who prefer white dolls...and you get little black girls who prefer white dolls... I'm not surprised that the black men had no preference. I also wouldn't be surprised if they had preferred Europeans.

I am white and i get followed by floor walkers quite often by white, Asian and East Indians so should i call racism? the only people i hate are people that think women and children have no rights, fear mongers, people that promote separatism and people that think that they can own another human-being as slaves o and people that judge others but cant look in the mirror at the real issue before pointing the finger.

White people do get discrimated also. Unfortunately it might not occur as often as other race's get discrimated against, but it definitely happens. But I just think it's not really reported as often even though it should be. Regardless of the race no one deserve to be treated negatively just because of their race & skin complexion.

As a retired Police Officer I pay attention to people who spend alot of time in certain isles without a shopping cart. And I think he was carrying a shopping bag. I'm black. I have seen white people walk through the grocery store eating chips, packaged danish and drinking soda, finish eating and leave the wrappings on a shelf, never thinking about paying. I saw a young black mother in CVS take toothpaste and drop it in the baby dag in the back of the baby carriage, without paying. If you work in a store they are told to watch out for shoplifters. I've seen video of white people joking they can go shoplifting anytime because the store employees or security are so busy watching black people. Unfortunately minorities are watched more. If I go in my handbage, or backpack I go into the main isle where everyone can see what I'm doing. They don't need to guess what I'm doing. That's just me.

My son, who is white, was stopped by police TWICE in our neighborhood, once while driving, and once while walking at night. This is what I think. Do your test with white people in Indian reservations, in Muslim communities, and black communities. Then we can compare racism. I am sick of white people being branded racial without any comparison in reverse. My most racial experience was on an Indian reservation where both white and Indian were suppose to be christians at a prayer meeting. As you can guess I am mostly white. Plus, Do not blame companies who are targeted by a specific group of people. As a manager of a jewelry store years back, i had a great distaste of young men or boys, under 20. Why because I was targeted for gold chains, by them. Especially when they wore hoodies. Do not target whites only for racialism.

I'm muslim but i dont like the arabs muslim (not all arabs but mostly of them) becuz of the way they behave. They are refugees from their own country but they are disrespectful to their destination country. The arabs are not grateful with what they have been given from the other country. If They wanna be one of the majority community, then they have to be thankful and accept the culture of the majority community .They must be fluent and well spoken in english too. Before I moved to Brampton, I had no idea HOW MANY Indians actually lived here. I'm of south Asian descent but I grew up here as a Canadian. I still keep my culture but I'm Canadian FIRST. It's true too, some of them don't believe in deodorant, holy shit I literally had to tell a guy who sat beside me on the bus that he smelled. I know it was rude but if someone doesn't tell these people, they will think not wearing deodorant is normal. I miss the Canada I grew up in. My friends were mostly white but there was a nice mix of us: white, black, asian so we all got along. Today, everyone is in their own groups, strangers are the enemy, there is so much more segregation than there has ever been. Not long ago at a Tim Hortons I heard an Indian guy who was clearly new to the country telling his friend he didn't have to learn English because everyone in Brampton speaks Punjabi, it was insulting hearing that.....Listen up Indians and any immigrants coming here: BEFORE you come here, learn English, LEARN the customs and learn the CANADIAN WAY. You owe it to Canada, give something back before you start taking.

I've been followed in stores & I'm white. The video is somewhat misleading. They want people to think whites can't be discriminated against. Sometimes stores just think you might steal, regardless of race. I worked at Food City & one of the managers accused me of stealing a drink I brought with me when I got there. I had just gotten to work & had my drink with me. I've also been mistaken by cops for someone else. And I'm a white man. Don't tell me only non-whites can be discriminated against! This video is ridiculous!

so what exactly is the problem? there are laws in canada - no you can't just walk in a stay and get benefits. if there is misinformation in the community migrating north, then who is at fault? if anyone from any country, regardless of race, creed, religion, sexual orientation - anything - thinks they can just go to another country with no strings attached they're crazy. I get the feeling this is meant to look like a racist issue - it's not. if you're white as snow, speak english and carry a bible, the rules are the same - you come legally, and go through all the paperwork and checks that are required.

I hate that at my work that we have a 5 foot rule; if a customer is within sight in 5 feet of you, you are to ask them if they need help with anything. Whether or not we suspect them of stealing. We don't discriminate racially, we do this with every person who walks into the store. Which is ridiculous because our store is very small and we have anywhere between 3 and 6 employees on the floor at any given time. So, inevitably, every customer is offered help many many times in their visit. I am always worried that a person of colour will think I'm profiling them, when I'm really not. I genuinely just want to know if they're finding everything they need or have any questions. If we were to racially profile based on the people who have stolen from us in the past, we'd be going after every white person who walks in the store. In my 3 years working there we have had only white people steal from us. So sick of the race issue, we're all humans. The amount of melanin in our skin should not matter.

We were not born with any clothes or phones or guns or any freaking borders. Yet I read these comments and watch in shear amazement at how everyday people pickup the mantle of these god awful politicians. They argue how these people or that people should be sent back a few hundred miles this way or that way. Truth is, we are unwelcome immigrants in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Venezuela, Libya, and a whole host of countries around the world. Killing people to save them. Yet, after our immigration destroys their countries. We have the nerve to tell them they are not welcome in ours. Truth is the world is getting tired of people that classify themselves as white people thinking they have some god given right to tell people when, where, and how to live. People that classify themselves as white are beginning to be seen as a virus of destruction that infects this once peaceful planet. You know what happens to viruses. They run their course and then are DESTROYED.

Not all white store workers who ask you if you need help are doing so because they think you will steal. Yes, I believe you! I know it happens, but I am a cashier, and sometimes I work on self scan. During very slow times, I will see confused customers looking around, so I ask if they need help. I do that with black, white or Hispanic people. I ONLY do it if they look confused. I enjoy helping people, so for me, it's altruistic. Please don't assume all are suspicious of you. Try and know the difference between the suspicious ones vs the ones who truly care.

Im white and always get followed in a chinese grocery. Lately, it has been alot less but now I cant get anyone to help me. I dont think any races trust each other for the majority. I dont have a problem with races..I dont trust any kid..probably cuz I worked in prison for a few years.

I'll lay it out for you: Me: typical middle of the road liberal oriented Canadian. Non white, immigrant (I wasnt born here) I worked in a Refugee housing for over 4 years in Ontario. Most were not war areas refugees (Yes I know there are other types of refugees). I only encountered few refugees from war areas. ONLY 1 person from Iraq, about 2 families were from Afghanistan, 1 couple from Pakistan(I doubt they were real refugees they spoke fluent English, maybe political refugee), and a most from African countries. Its too far for real refugees to get here. Its Easier for them to go to other countries nearby or Europe. MOST SEEM TO BE ECONOMIC REFUGEES. Most were coming from Africa. Some are coming from Latin America, which shouldn't be happening. Once they showed up at our doorstep and we processed them into the system, they were immediately in the same class as a Canadian resident homeless person if they were making a refugee claim. We get money to house and feed them (from the government), and they are given a stipend for basics from the government processed through the Social Assistance/ Welfare system (they get less than a resident/citizen I think.). They then have to get their case processed by the refugee board, and most seem to get in. I've only heard of few getting sent back. One person I know at our facility, was given a subsided social housing apartment after a year in our facility. So they went straight from a shelter to a government/city owned subsidized apartment. (Didn't seem like it was a issue for the housing worker...they didn't report it (if they were not the ones that helped the person to get it), they were white, the housed person was Latin. This refugee claimant, and then month or two new Canadian resident person was given an apartment in a prime area of the city, instead of the 1000's of Canadians, those who came before them, and born Canadian citizens on an extremely long waiting list. How this was allowed to happen I don't know. The person was probably sucking on someone's straw. I'm just trying to think the barriers these people have to go through to get a job here. We are far removed from the time of the 80's and 90's., and housing and jobs are so hard to get. Lol the "Canadian government asks them to repay the traveling cost to Canada if they are sent back"....I wonder how much the government recoups?.....more like 0 probably. What a bunch of crap. How do you demand someone to repay their flight cost when they get back to their country?

It’s not just skin color but a lot of things like perceived wealth, perceived personality ... etc. White color can be denigrated as well. This is not a simple issue of color but skin color bigots do exist but I think there are only a few of them.

It’s amazing how much I can relate. I’m white, so why should I, right? But when Stacey Mackenzie’s voice cracked, I knew why. I’m a Newfoundlander, we are made fun of too, we are looked down on too. My ancestors were flogged, but there’s no picture was of them. My ancestors we left to starve because they owed so much to the merchant, the didn’t deserve a barrel of molasses. They didn’t catch enough fish that summer to pay for the debts they incurred the year before. Nobody even knows why the debt they incurred wasn’t their fault. I’m not trying to diminish the history of my black brothers and sisters here, I want to know more of that history. But, you need to learn the meaning of the word “merchant”, if you think bigotry is based on race. Yes, bigotry based on race is wrong. But it’s not the only kind of bigotry.

So far I think the most important Pareto of this are the test results around 14 mins. The white guy preferred white, the native guy preferred white but black folks had little 2 know bias. I just believe it’s important 2 analyze more of this.

I know the past actions of people greatly influence lives today.As a citizen of Canada I think all of us have to accept each others culture and color..we can learn alot from each other!!Racism goes both ways..whites against blacks...black against white..this really has to stop so we can move on! Spending time in Jamaica I was seeing prejudice against white people. .I was in a club and the DJ picked me out of the black crowd and disrespected me..wasnt a good feeling!
