Living in Germany, breathing Clean Air in Germany are big leaps in life for Turkish citizens. Turkish economy is 18th biggest economy. Motorways are very expensive in Turkey and so scarce. Canada has really gone downhill and is getting very creepy, viz. lack of freedom of speech, tyrannical government, mass immigration, etc. Look at the bright side though, at least they still let you leave, unlike say in the old Soviet Union. I had a married couple from Toronto who were clients of my remodeling company in Minnesota. They had immigrated to the states in search of better economic opportunity. Good luck to you.

I'm pretty sure more will come but many will leave so on once they understood that their living standards aren't improving. I see lot of people are struggling and moving to Netherlands, Belgium and soon. Even with two income it's hard to survive in any EU countries. The main reason behind all this misery is lack of housing, tax, tax and more taxes. Netherland is also not a good at housing and taxes. European are not work hard becasue it will only result in more taxes and causes more misery. In EU majority of people choose to spent time with family and friends than earning more money. It is cultural difference between EU and rest of the world.\n\nImmigrants come to EU thinking of earning more fortune like Dubai or USA, so that they can send remittance back to home has just become a day dream. In reality these countries take half of your fortune in taxes and in return they give good water, clean air and almost peaceful life.

I know exactly where your coming from.I have lived most a lot of my life away from Scotland. I have been back off and on past few years due to personal circumstances. I see a great change in immigration and the way the country has went downhill with the current government as transport roads etc are unacceptable now and lack of good rental accommodation with soaring rental prices and buying property is way too expensive and not worth the price. Also similar to Canada and USA the cost of living is way too high. I am leaving in coming weeks with no intention to return. These issues are prevalent in the EU, US and Canada. All these countries are experiencing inflation, homelessness and related problems with health care access. If you think Poilievre can wave a magic wand and solve lack of affordable housing and inflation you are not very bright.

3rd generation here, I can retire next year as long as I leave Canada. If I remain, I will work until dead because it is so very expensive and getting more so under the cult of climate change. It pains me to witness what our governments have allowed to happen in our communities. Drug abuse is rampant, mental health is staggering, youth are medicated, gender confused and climate terrified. A homeless shelter for drug addicts is being built less than a 4 minute walk from my home which is in a seniors park....we will all be victimized by theft and vandalism. We are also divided thanks to trudeau who has labelled and categorized us so deeply he ran elections based on divisions. We are no longer the kind polite people we once were. Churches burning epitomizes the moral or lack of moral ground we live and act upon. So I am moving next year to central America, Panama most likely...I can afford to retire there, never need to heat my home nor worry trudeau is going to ban my furnace and my car. It saddens me to no end for I have grandchildren, 5 generations, of investment in this country.

I mean, you come to a country and you have to adjust and learn the language. Pretty straightforward, and most of us are doing it.\n\nBut when on the other side you have people who do not understand the effort and have no patience for it, it is a frustrating experience. It is also annoying that you know they need you here, they know they need you, but none of that is reflected in the way people coming in are treated.\n\nA lot of us also come with skills and accomplishments behind us. And then we need to play fish-out-of-water for a while, speak a language in which we know we sound incompetent and we can see someone underestimating us (because they lack the understanding of what our situation brings). Germany is simply not worth the struggle you have to go through to do anything here. I wonder how soon it will be the situation where we will have to fill a from to even buy groceries. Even as an IT expert, I am not finding a job easily because of lack of German C1 level! This is how they consider their language over your skill. The truth is there is no shortage of workers here in Germany. I can show thousands of people like me looking for a job but not getting anything! I never ever recommend Germany to someone!

Yes there are a lot of issues that needs to be addressed. However, its immature to blame every problem onto immigration. Most of us dont know enough about how things really works. Its not like if we stop immigration then all these problems would be fixed, in fact i think we need this population growth due to low birth rates and lack of labor etc. In my personal experience i see in real life where immigrants are working and contributing in all kinds of fields, such as construction, health care and elderly care … instead of pointing fingers, first educated ourselves on this topic, and then think about how we can make this work, i think that would be more beneficial for everyone.

Well Germany used to be great, but not anymore. I’m Dutch and I worked in Berlin in 2012/2013. I remember being really surprised by the bureaucracy and lack of digitization in government and services. For example I needed a tax number, from the tax office in the area within Berlin, where I lived. Meaning there were about 19 of these offices around Berlin, handing out tax numbers. If you moved within the city to a different region, you needed to get a new different tax number. Comparing this to the Netherlands at the time, we don’t even have this number, as it is directly linked to your Social security number. Also tax statements are prefilled by our government, you only need to check them on a digitally secured portal.

As an American watching this I see many parallels. Lack of affordable housing, taxation … getting started in life after university is a shock. Especially if you aren’t used to the struggle of day to day living. There is global competition for skilled labor so expect it to be challenging. \n\nAs an aside the host seems to speak perfect American. Sorry England! ?. I am Brazilian, living in Germany for 5 years. Upon coming, the one and first thing I worked on was learning German. Regardless of how open a society is/is not, if you chose to move somewhere LEARN THE LANGUAGE. You don't have to speak like Goethe. Learning the language shows respect for your adoptive country. That the Nurse was the only one to conduct the interview in German is telling. She is respectful, she learned German and is at home in Germany. Changing countries is never easy, but not learning the language is complete lack of respect.

2 things can be true. Have the infrastructure and support from government been lacking? Yes. Have the unfitted immigration policies made the problem worst? Yes.

Immigration, in itself is intrinsically wrong, before we even get in to the lack of housing, schools, healthcare and the destruction of our history, traditions and national identity.

To answer the question with another question, why do you think that adding 10 million immigrants to a country with a relatively small population in just 11 years was going to turn out well? \n\n10 million is roughly one-third of what Canada's population was 11 years ago. It is one-quarter of today's population. How was this not going to cause housing shortages and stress the social/health and education systems, overcrowd schools, and clog roads and public transport? How was it not going to grow homelessness and tent cities?\n\n10 million in 11 years were simply too many people in too short a time period. One has to ask whether this was deliberate or whether the federal government is lacking in powers of reasoning. I suspect both.
