Unsafe big cities.\n9. Business unfriendly policy.\n10. \n\nI am keeping point 10 for you all to add here.

If more Muslims leave the more vile of a nation they will have, society is completely broken without Islam. I’m seriously considering Malaysia or Singapore.

I've been living in Toronto for 2 years, and I would say Toronto is one of the most overrated cities. I'm from Japan, Osaka and lived in Tokyo awhile as well. I lived in San Jose and Seattle for a while. I'm convinced that Toronto is the worst city TBH or probably Canada is perhaps not as cool as people expect. People say Canadian health insurance is pretty decent compared to American health insurance, but I think Canadian medical system's getting broken, and sooner or later it's gonna be like American medical system unless they pay extremely high taxes.

The issue is not only in Canada. The world ? is broken and sick. The system, Economy, politics to mention a few is collapsing. Don't you get it, man can't fix our problems because they are limited and some are also greedy. The only solution is Jesus Christ the Saviour and Redeemer of our souls. Let's return to Jesus, He came to redeem and rescue us from sin, evil, Satan and the wicked world. The whole world is in a mess. Wherever we travel to, there's no guarantee of a happy, beautiful life we are all looking for. \nTrue is a perfect or wonderful world doesn't exist. \nWhere it's good today, could become worse tomorrow. We can't see the future. Jesus Christ says come into me and I will give you Rest in your heart and life. Safety is only guaranteed in Christ.\n Jesus loves you!

This is a very thoughtful and balanced review. As a retired Canadian who had a good job for most of my life, I'm saddened by the decline in almost all areas of life, lifestyle and and people's aspirations in this country. This decline actually seems quite rapid, I would say from 2015 onwards. Housing in major centres was expensive, but it has skyrocketed in the past decade. There has been a decline in many institutions: 1. health-care, especially noticeable since the pandemic that coincided with many boomer medical staff retiring, but also by our sclerotic institutions refusing to enable foreign-trained doctors to work here. Many foreign-trained doctors in the Vancouver area are doing jobs way below their qualifications while many people cannot even get a family doctor. Crazy. Econonically, there seems to have been no plan at all from the government as we exited the pandemic. At least the US had a plan, to 'build back better'. Our government just floats along as if everything is fine, when the decline is very visible especially to older Canadians. We have admitted 1/2 a million people a year from overseas, so our economy should reflect this and show an upswing. But no, we're in a 'technical recession' as of December and probably a real recession as of last week. I have never voted Conservative in my life, but Trudeau is a flaky dimwit with a famous name who has no clue what he is doing. A fool, in fact. He's mismanaged our foreign relations beyond belief, and nothing has improved domestically. When Pierre Poilievre says 'Canada is broken', I believe it. We deserve much better leadership; in Canada's case, the rot does come from the top. Justin the entitled idiot is much more like his mother than his father.\n\nLong rant. Many of your numbers are wrong sweetie. Here are the facts;\n2 years ago, you would go to IGA (where food is fresh but it is pricey), you would get out with 2 bags of groceries for about 120$. Today, it is 180$ for the same 2 bags. this is NOT a 10% increase... but almost the double in price!\n\nRent, in Quebec province, have gone from around 1,000$ to 2,400$ in less than 5 years, and each time a tennant leave his place, the landlord rise (against the law but nobody can do anything) the rent often by 25 to 40%!!! The Demand is so high, that he can refuse you for any reason (including racism, children, pet, smokers) he can think of. Again, this is against the common law but in truth, there is nothing anybody can do, unless you can bring him to court, which takes lots of money...\n\nSo in reality, from the last 5 years, almost everything has double in price and salaries have barely start to rise (mostly due to unions who revolted) but if you are not part of one, your salary basically stayed the same.\n\nA very good advice, don't come to Canada. There is no 'dream' here anymore. it is hell. And even if you find a decent job, you will be ask to do the job of 4 peoples and taking your vacation will be near impossible without losing it. If you are not dying in your country, don't come here. I knew some people that came here from France, and although the situation is bad in France, it is still easier to live in France than here and so, they returned.\n\nWe are called a social-communist country by US standard, but the truth is, we have never been so far away from it. We are now into a company distopia that have monopoly on prices, control over any legislations, and our government steal money from its citizen to give it to companies so they grow artificially without giving any more good jobs to people. I foresee a citizen unrest if not, a revolt, in the near future. The domestic violence is reaching new heights, and if you don't believe me, just look at the current news; this last 2 days have seen 2 women beaten to death by their husbands... and that is just the point of the iceberg we see... People are stressed, angry, broken, and even if we keep making jokes ( that is how we are...) we are all worried about the future of Canada.

Im 58 from the philippines. In the 80s a lot of my friends immigrated to the us, canada, and other european countries. 30 yrs later after holding many jobs and getting laid off many times they never progressed beyond basic paycheck to paycheck existence. Many of them returned broken and broke. Whereas those who stayed in the philippined progressed in their careers and professions and became top people. Best decision of my life NOT to immigrate.

i moved to the uk two years ago with my 5 boys and wife. the opportunities in the UK were just too large to ignore for myself and my wife. and partially my step son. myself and my wife both got higher salaries for the fields we were already in and football is more important in the UK than canada where hockey is the dominant sport. it took along time to adjust. but overall recently my wife and i took a romantic trip to london this past new year’s eve and we both agreed this was the best decision for our family and children. we are happier here in the UK than we were in Ontario. and that’s what it’s about. quality of life. go back to canada? High living costs problem is out there in every country, this is global. Miigrating will always be painful, I come from Mexico, going back to my country is possible but not an option in the long run. I believe private investment is keeping things at hand in terms of security, but the state of governement is broken, more and more massacres are common and people disappearing by drug caetels are happening even more and in zones previously deemed safe. That is why comparing in comparison thus country to me its worth it. (And not Usa because their gun laws and people supporting them to me are a no no, to have shootings at school that common, oh my god).

I feel for the Police and Immigration officials trying to process so many people, but the tide of negativity from so many Canadians on YT is incredible. We are faced with many of the same problems here in Australia, particularly on our East Coast, but I don't see the exodus of people who were born here. Interesting times ahead.

However broken it is, I'm still making myself adapt to its requirements. I'm likely to go through the professional route where I get sponsored by an employer for a professional job to get that green card. I wonder if the reason so many in so many places believe that medical care is a problem is actually a matter of expectations. I know that in the 90s, my little town in Kansas had as many imaging machines as the entire country of Canada, but Canadians were certain they had superior medical care, as did the English. Expectations.\nEven then, if something was so bad that only a silver bullet treatment would possibly help, they still send patients to the USA because they are not equipped to help. Quiet management.\nBut basic medical, especially if you don't have much money, was traditionally better in England. I don't think Canadians had choices, but the functional reality was similarly better than in the States. Expectations.\nFor some time, Americans have had a sense that miracles are practical things that happen all the time, just pull out all the stops to keep grandma in agony another week. This has been reinforced by the civil courts. It is dangerous to be a doctor who does not recommend EVERYTHING be done to prolong life, even miserable life. Insane expectations that waste a lot of money. \nBut basic medical? Just shut up and go to work. Expectations.\nA century ago, there were no significant differences in expectations amongst developed countries because the expectations, based on the technologies of the day, were the same. Plus, there was only so much that could be done, so the total costs of everything were predictable and could be paid for publicly or privately less angst or disappointment. I’m Cuban but moved to Canada when I was 9. Now I am 25. Canada for sure has its issues, and I do want to leave one day, but not because I think Canada is so broken that the only solution is to leave, I just cannot take this cold for the rest of my life. With that being said, so many Canadians have no clue just how good we have it here, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t complain in hopes to improve, but just to serve as a reminder, that compared to majority of the world, we are so lucky.

The more monopolies, the greater the income inequality, and the more broken your country becomes.\n\nWhen mentioning the housing crisis, it's important to remember that it goes along with a massive homelessness problem. And a very large percentage of the homeless population are people with untreated mental health disorders, because there's no effective mental healthcare in Canada and it's almost impossible to get disability for a mental health disorder.\n\nMany people don't have health insurance, and if you don't have health insurance, you can't afford medication, which is incredibly expensive. Which means your disability increases. It's extremely hard to get a family doctor (I was on a waiting list for 3 years before I finally got a call, and I've been trying to get an appointment with a specialist for over a year now). The hospitals are telling people to stay away unless your situation is dire. The food banks are turning people away because they're running out of food.\n\nAs far as I can tell, the government no longer cares about anyone who isn't wealthy.

There is NO other country I would ever choose to live in. Born and bred here in Canada. Things are broken everywhere. Still believe my country is a wonderful place to live a beautiful, mostly peaceful, non gun hungry population, life. No place is perfect. But we seem to have laws that respect ALL people that are legally here. There is ALWAYS room for improvement. No gonna lie. Again. I wouldn’t live anywhere else.
