whats happening is people are coming here, mostly Indians, are coming to Canada as students... then when their student visa is over they claim asylum... when their asylum is eventually denied which can take a while they walk across the border and do it all over again... I believe that is the majority of who is walking across the border to the USA ... Elections and change are coming to Canada soon, but this is so shameful.

When you cross a land border, there is no Exit barrier, only an Entry barrier. Essentially they check you on the way in and can turn you around. Why is it up to Canada to stop people leaving vs the USA stopping people coming in? So much misinformation in this video. First off, Trump didn't force Canada to do anything. Canada had the $1B security plan already in place and was going to do this long before Trump came to power. Secondly, more people come in to Canada illegally from the US than the other way around. We took in well over 5 million immigrants (documented and undocumented) over the past 3 years. Like New York, many of our cities are overwhelmed with this influx. We don't even have the resources to track down expired visas, overstays, or asylum cases. Last year our government admitted there was a problem and decided to start taking action. The biggest issue is people claim to be tourists with no intent of leaving. The Canada US border is far stronger than our international one.

As a Canadian, I care more about who is getting into Canada than who is getting into the US. I want to know from my government how are these people getting into Canada in the first place?? Canada needs to fix how people are getting into our country first. Then this will naturally help keep these folks from using the land border to gain access to the US.
