We now have $1M+ houses being built for people on welfare who only have to pay a maximum of 25% of their income, and that income is given to them by the government. People are better off being unemployed and living off government benefits and housing than to have a job paying less than $100k/yr.

You have the personality to be capable of living anywhere, and seeing other cultures-it seems your business skills and determination will lead you to success wherever you choose to live. Google says the average cost to have a child (give birth) in the USA is $18,865. This would translate to $27,207.10 CAD at the time I'm writing this comment. Basically, a year of minimum wage take home pay. Very few people would find that amount of money easy to deal with.\n\nIn Canada it's not only free, but the government pays you monthly amounts if your income is less than what they deem enough to provide for them. Tyler there are 600 mass shootings in the U.S each year which is almost 2 a day per average and while they do not all take place in schools, how many mass shootings are tolerable? As long as Americans like yourself dismiss all the data to the contrary the U.S will continue to have the tragedies it does, When you look up mass shootings which is where there are more than 2 victims per incident you'll find Canada doesn't even register in those statistics because where the U.S has 600 mass shootings a year Canada hasn't had 600 in its last 100 years. So that is why Canadians mention school shootings as a reason, because the potential is real for it to happen. It is preventable tragedy but Americans as a whole need to want that change, until it does the rest of the world will always bring up gun violence and school shootings when the U.S is in the discussion.
