I believe that the relationship between a Country and its citizens is much the same as a parents duty to their child. Governments have a DUTY to care for the safety and well being of their citizens. I would like to see a UN declaration stating that governments must accept their citizens back into their borders. And that the home country must reimburse all those governments and organizations that fed, clothed, transported, sheltered and rendered medical aide to their citizens. NO COUNTRY must be allowed to dump their citizens like trash at the side of the road. These are THEIR CITIZENS..IT IS THE HOME COUNTRY'S DUTY TO TAKE CARE OF THEM up until the time they are LEGALLY granted citizenship elsewhere. This application process can be done while the person is still in residence in their own Country. It is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to take the illegal route. Thousands of people have died in the process. While I do not condone what she did I also do not agree that buying housing as an investment should be allowed either. If this country had a surplus of housing then investment could be allowed. However this is not and has not been the case. This is one reason why many Canadians can not afford to purchase housing. Invest in something that does not hurt the economy and those around you. If you invest in housing and loose don't come crying to me. You took the risk, like any other investor and lost. That's the game. Now you want my tax dollar to bail you out.
