Why nobody can speak English ? How did the get in ? Do u want skilled workers or blue collar unskilled workers ? This is a question the Canadians need to ask ? And why only one country nationals are protesting , international students from other countries are not protesting , this needs to be rephrased as Indian International students protest

As FRENCH, I think it is more an issue with policies set by both governments!!! You know you bring students IN and why don’t you build houses and encourage construction???? In France, many students (mainly Africa, and French departments like Guadeloupe, Tahiti or Martinique) come to study there (for free and we are proud of it!!!) BUT - unlike Canada - we do NOT have the same issues as Canada (our healthcare is NOT under pressure and our housing prices haven’t really increased that much as compared to Canada for example!!!) to me, the students are NOT to blame!!! It is the fault of the deciders (at different level) who have FAILED to set the right policies!!!! The schools are also to blame as some (not all) are so obsessed with making profits out of the higher international fees, which by way, subsidize Canadian students!!! So in Canada (not in France or Germany), the money that allows schools to function come from international students who BRING LOTS OF MONEY for the Canadian economy!!!! in France, it is different as the universities are FREE and are fully subsidized by the French government… but yes;) you have to speak French fluently to attend them!!! \nSo dear Canadians, do not blame foreign students thanks to whom your universities thrive and remain existant!!! Without them (namely the Indians too), the Canadian universities will struggle to find money and funding! Remember, the system in France is TOTALLY different!!!!

Actually, the problem of too many international students and job competition can be solved easily, as long as the Canadian government has the courage to stipulate: International students are not allowed to work during the academic term, except during holidays. what about canadian born kids, who always get summer job to earn tution fee from entry level job, for their education? international students comes and show that they are finanacially capable to bear the study cost, they have no right to work , your visa has expiry date, means once expire you have to go thats meaning for expiry date...just finish study and go home, and apply legally again like how genuine people do...

Canadian logic : send back international student who paid to study and graduated then worked then bring refugees give them PR educate them from tax payer money then put them on welfare.

Canada needs to tax from all their paychecks an additional 40%-50% international foreign student worker tax as a paycheck deduction. Canada needs to give that extra tax money to our unemployment and homeless Canadian born Citizens.

Canada needs to immediately tax them an additional 40% from the paychecks of all temporary non permanent foreign workers and international students who are currently working in Canada. Taxing the people who are non Canadian residents wirking in Canada with a much higher tax rate than is taxed on Canadian Citizens is a solution for Canada to make money to support rising numbers of unemployed Canadian born citizens.

Just a point of clarification. Are you confusing Immigrants to Temporary Foreign Workers and International Students? Those 70,000 you mentioned are not immigrants. They have temporary visas and are not guaranteed immigrant status. Please clarify because you're not being clear. Thank you.

International students and temporary unskilled foreign workers should all be severely taxed an extra international student and foreign unskilled worker wage tax on all Canadian earnings, which will then need to be provided to supplement all our unemployed Canadian Citizens.

I’ve thought about going to another country to study medicine but I have no intentions of staying there for a better life. If life was so hard back where he’s from , how did he afford international student tuition which is in the 10s of thousands per semester?

Most of these International students spend $30 to $40,000/- to come here and settle down . The courses which are offered by these no name Candian institutes in which these people enroll into are of ZERO value back home and even here in Canada there is not much value. Purpose is just to settle down and every one knows that . Its just a huge scam and everyone is a part of it . I wish they could have used this money to initiate a start up back home .
