Trudeau‘s response doesn’t look anything like somebody that wants to work with us. He just turned a tariff that was aimed at creating some equality behind our trades into a trade war not Trump we will own Canada soon enough now because of Trudeau’s terrible response

I'm a Canadian, we have a massive piece of land and small population.\nWe should be friends with everyone. Never pick sides.\nTo look into history, U.S never be friends with anyone. They are only friends with money!\nI don't go against the Americans, but we also have to take care of our own economy.\n\nTrump just find an excuse to blame Canada so he can tariff the Canadian. We never do things to harm our neighbours. \nI spent thousands of dollars every year in Vegas and have multiple times shares there, but they chose to put a rope on us!\n\nI don't go against Russia and China either because we all have one common goal, that is a better life for all and there's nothing wrong with it!\n\nDon't worry too much about Trump, he is old and likes to show the world that he is powerful before he is gone! \nCanadian will ride through good and bad times. We all have to work together because we are hard working Canadians!

Trump is just a liar. These tariffs have nothing to do with fentanyl it’s all comes from trump having no clue what running a country requires do he is just acting like a tuff guy to assuage his ego. He only ran to stay out of prison. Facts matter \nLike the fact there was 14000 deaths last year from fentanyl in USA. Not 10 million. Fact In the last 10 years there has been 1.1 million deaths. Trump is obviously helping Russia with imposing tariffs on these countries, it's another way of helping his buddy Putin to get back on board with his failing economy.

In a sense I know why (optics), but in another sense, I don’t. Why do so many insist on retaliating against Trump’s tariffs with more or higher tariffs of their own? I think it’d be so much more effective if someone said, “You know, we’ve thought about this, and we have come to realize that tariffs are really bad. So starting tomorrow, we will respond by getting rid of all our tariffs. This will make everything we import more affordable. It will make us richer. We hope other countries will join us! Canada should immediately order total blockade the border and reject all goods coming to Canada from USA and ask all Canadian not going to USA from now until further notice to force Trump Tariff to crack down! Great, unambiguous words by the Canadian president! But one of his remarks stood out: he said that the tyrants want to divide us. He is correct, of course. But the implications are profound! This means that Trudeau himself is measuring his words and deliberately using diplomatic language. He even says that Trump is “intelligent”, which only plays into the imbecile’s unfortunate NPD psychology! The unwillingness to stand strong against American tyranny is harming democracy worldwide! Force Trump to declare a side! And make him choose Putin or democracy NOW!! If you fail to do that, you are taking the path of accommodation, and if Trump is really a tyrant (which he surely is, because of MANY evidences!!), democratic countries weaken their position by not standing strong NOW. If Europe and Canada and Mexico ban Tesla imports and place 50% tariffs on tens of billions of dollars of American products, what would happen? Are these countries AFRAID of the United States? I’m Canadian and I’m terrified for us as well as all the innocent people that will be affected by this. I find it curious though that past presidents haven’t made any remarks, at least that I’ve seen, about all the things Trump has done in the last six weeks. Where are the condemnations about tariffs, the way Zelensky was treated and the fact that Trump is the one letting human traffickers (allegedly) across the border? As in Andrew Tate and his brother. Trump is the one allowing criminals in. Trump is the one about to sell gold cards to anyone for $5,000,000. That will include known terrorists.

Tariffs on Canada would likely reduce real gross domestic product to zero in 2025 if implemented beyond a year and lead to a 2% contraction in 2026 with a peak unemployment rate of more than 8%. Trump told Canada if you did TWO THINGS, there would be no tariffs on Canada. One, stop illegal immigrants from pouring into the USA from Canada. Two, stop illegal drugs from coming into the USA from Canada. Did Trudeau comply with President Trump's request? If so, there must be a lack of communication to verify what has transpired. If not, then Trump imposed tariffs for lack of compliance. Now, if Canada has already complied yet the Trump admin imposed tariffs anyway, then that is a slap in the face to our neighbors to the north and the American people should be outraged and let Trump know it.

How does this make sense? Trump being the stupid ass he has always been, put tariffs on imported goods from Canada causing US citizens to pay more for goods from Canada. So PM Trudeau sets tariffs on goods coming in from the US causing CAnidian citizens to pay more for goods imported from the US.\nHaving said that, I do see that PM Trudeau will be causing Canadian citizens to stop buying imported US products, slapping Trump in the face and causing hardship to US manufacturers. As a Canadian - Trumps 'brilliance' has done one thing for sure, it's aligned all of the provinces against our neighbor and former ally the United States. It's done something we ourselves have had difficulty with - gaining support from Quebec. 37T in US debt. We’ve been unfairly treated the past 60 years from unfair trades from the world and Trump was the only President to say “enough”.
