I am a Canadian and I love America and the American people. I hope we can put this behind us sooner rather than later there is no need for any tension between us. We always have each other‘s back. With that said, I would like to see Canada step up to certain obligations, including with NATO, but as far as a trade work goes, this is not good.

If we read how trump speak about governor Trudeau it's cleat Trump wants to make canada and Mexico the Ukraine of the north America! Maybe it's time to hit back at trump/VANCE AND CUT THE ELECTRICITY AND OIL OF ALBERTA RIGHT NOW ! AND KICK THOSE 2 CLOWNS OUT OF THE WHITE WHITE HOUSE CAUSE AMERICANS WILL SUFFER JUST LIKE US WITH THOSE STUPID TARRIFS

Apple, Taiwan, Japan, and honda already invested billions of dollars to America just to avoid tariffs. Like trump said, everything will be built in US soil, from steel, cars, technology chips, etc. In addition, America is the biggest consumer in commerce. These countries need the US dollar. It's either invested in America now and built your products in America or pay the tariffs. Your choice... oh, and for eggs, the US spends $110 million (2023) in eggs from China... I served alongside Canadian military when I served in the US military. They were very tough, honorable, and outstanding professionals. I have friends and family from Canada, and they love America. This trade war is so sad and so devastating for so many Americans and Canadians. These tariffs are so stupid, it's beyond reason. Trump is treating America's best friends and allies like enemies! This is not only dishonorable behavior by a US president, it is despicable!

US can go further. Who knows? It may invade Canada to access north pole. It is like Germany to Poland in WW2. The whole world should unite against US the Goliath.

Seen from overseas in Europa I can only say that Trudeau's speech is excellent. Canadians can be vrey proud to have a Prime Minister like him. Trump on the other hand is like a kid playing with matches. US americans are not the problem Trump is the problem.

I live in Maine on the border with Canada and im absolutely ashamed at what trump is doing. Canada is an incredible country and a great ally to the US, and this entire thing that trump is doing is reprehensible. It would be an improvement to have a leader like Trudeau who can actually get a point across.

More than half of us DID NOT vote for him, and those that did likely had no idea what tariffs were or certainly didn’t understand how they work. Yes this move does look like it could be connected to Putin. If Canada financially struggle then they can't help if needed with the war in Ukraine which is a plus for Putin. Quit acting like this is a guy who Canadians actually like. Trudeau is massively unpopular and will be gone very soon, when the new Prime Minister of Canada is put in place there will be a deal. I think finally Canada realized that if they have friend like US then they don't need any enemy. You can't trust US at all and need to start open your market for global trade. The last scorching inflation we had in the 80s, CDs for 3 years and only 10,000 dollars drew 13.5%, there was also high, high, high unemployment, home loans were 18.5% interest with good credit.
