A lot of my friends come to me whenever they need some extra cash because i always have something saved up,, my black friends never payed me back,, all my other friends did... so i stopped letting my black friends borrow money... im mexican, my people love getting drunk and typically take their job less seriously than others,, also we tend to be really loud and obnoxious.. ive worked with alot of indian people, and most of them never showered... stereotypes exist for a reason, but until you are proven to fall into these stereotypes you shouldn't be judged by them because there definitely are exceptions.

The moment you don't stand up to defend someone who needs it is a defining moment, your life has brought you to that point and you have the chance to do something meaningful and if you don't do it whatever you do after that doesn't matter. Go do your shopping, watch a movie, live your life but know that it's pointless. Thank God we don't live in a time where there is much war, so you won't get to save someone's life, or do something heroic. The most you can do is stand up for the little injustices you see on your path

There's cases in this episode where they assumed racism without proof like the Best Buy for example. I used to work at Best Buy for a Co-Op placement in highschool and shoplifting was a big issue for them, it became best practice at one point to just approach customers of any race and ask them what they need. You also have to realize that it's an electronics store, you're there to buy something specific or look for something in particular.. It's very suspicious to be browsing around for 15 minutes unless you're in a game or movie section. Shoplifters usually stall before attempting a theft and usually do buy one or two things as to not arouse suspicion.

Something needs to be done about Edmonton Police's systematic racism. First missing Natives, now this. How many records can they hold?

Racism may never go away in any part of the world. What happened long ago may not be right, events in history that happened should not be forgotten but remembered on how not to handle something. I believe everyone needs to put aside race and religion and simply care for each human being regardless of what’s happened in the past.

Bravo to CBC for giving a voice to people who are in positions of leadership who represent the disenfranchised, the violated and the overlooked. One thing that can be frustrating about “not seeing a problem that doesn’t involves us immediately” is that we are locked in to our own worldview—and it’s frustrating to be asked to change something we ourselves don’t think needs fixing. The importance of just listening, and being witnesses to specific stories, human to human—and being reeducated on the lingering multi-generational consequences of past and current racism is what needs to be focused on, if you are an individual who feels like nothing is wrong. The task is merely to listen—and doubt your sense of comfort, satisfaction and preference for the status quo. Listening, and doubt can lead to change. Collective change can lead to understanding, and even, healing. It is so hard to doubt oneself at this level because “othering” is a very strong force in tribal instincts and dynamics. To be asked to let go of this seemingly real sense of self and group identity can be extremely unsettling, psychologically. I hope that is somehow helpful for people who are reading, in some way. I wish that our education not only reflected history accurately, but also made it mandatory to learn basic principles of psychology.

Is this more of a US / Canada thing? How is it in Australia? I ask because I have never experienced this in the UK ( brown Asian for reference). I am wondering if it is more relaxed in the UK or If I am so lost in my own world that I don’t notice if the staff is following me. \n\nIn my experience, if you look lost, someone might casually ask you if you need help. Otherwise most retail staff seem to be busy with their own work and you have to interrupt their work to ask them something which always makes me feel a little bad.

We had pennies we just decided not to spend millions on something we may use when we are needing a penny, that is if we don’t find any other cash before that penny.

Something funny I noticed while in the US was when I talk to people the 2nd thing they ask me is my name. ALWAYS THE 2nd THING THEY ASK. WHY?? I can speak with everybody in Canada without knowing the name ever but Americans feel the need to know that.

Someone needs to set up a mobile Television station that could hijack the airwaves long enough to get this out to the many who still watch regular tv. The whole bit about the store staff asking you if you needed assistance or hovering around you has happened to me when I was in Saudi Arabia in a store that sells electronic devises and books etc , bear in mind that I am Egyptian and that happens to me in Egypt as well so I don't think of it as race problem more so that some stores are just worried about theift, still that doesn't mean that I don't hate it, it makes you feel pressured to buy something so I thought if I went to Canada and if this happens to me it will be normal, now I don't think so.\nP.s. sorry my grammar and spelling isn't top notch giving that it isn't my native language.

What killed me is she was eligible for the Working Poor Tax Credit. It goes to show how easy these rules are to exploit. Someone could sit down and calculate exactly what they need to make, how many children they need to have, what activities to pursue etc so they can gain access to all these tax benefits. Make the most money while paying the least tax. There was an article in the nation post about this which discussed Trudeau's statement that the poor do not pay tax. It is crazy the tax credits people get and it makes it so something like close to 40% of people do not actually pay tax. Its one thing when working canadian's benefit, but not Chinese business people who come here, buy a house, maintain their status under false pretenses, then get credits for being poor.

As a Canadian living in Asia. Our biggest crisis is that we are universally identified as being weak. There is little deterrent for criminals to try something brazen. We need strong and fast law enforcement and unflinching penalties. A 7 year sentence with 2 years until release is a worldwide joke, and partial cause this activity occurs openly in Canada.

If the Islamic followers want to be more accepted it would benefit for them to denounce the radical Islamic parts more openly and more often, also even the Christians have tone down or even speak against how some things in the Bible are written and or interpreted and have even fought against groups or individuals who would radicalize things from the Bible.\n\nBut it appears that even the moderate follower of Islamic faith may say something to a non believer just to appear helpful, but while later it seems those moderates talk different when around others of their faith, no longer ready to speak against their teachings or leadership. As someone who is more liberal minded, I don't agree with illegal immigration (I'm also pretty fiscally conservative). I'm open to the idea of healthcare for all, I'm open to legalized pot (even though I hate pot), I don't agree with most wars, and I don't give a rats ass who someone marries or who makes your cake. I'm sick of these sob stories. Are those people really that stupid? I'm beginning to think they really are. This man had been in the States for several years according to this video. He was in the States illegally. He clearly never bothered to learn English, and it looks like that for his family too.
