#1 reason I would leave and I’m a Canadian is Trudeau. He’s a jerk. Canada was so much better without this asshole. I live in Toronto. Lucky enough to buy a house downtown in 1995 and we have good jobs. So $ isn’t a factor like for other people. But the liberals are ruining this beautiful country.

Don’t come to Vancouver Canada to study unless your family is rich. I run a rental business here and LOTs of international students either live in basements or struggle hard to come up with rents. I don’t blame them cuz this city is hell EXPENSIVE. Also even if you get a degree from UBC you are gonna get a job as a bank teller that pays like $16/hr if lucky. People suffer from seasonal depression for about 4-5 months/year. Better just stay in your country if it is not in the war zone and has relatively good health care system. If you can succeed in Canada you can do it in your home country. Not trying to discourage anyone but just wanna help people make rational decisions?

It’s impossible for youngs to buy South of Nunavut if they don't have access to BANK OF DAD. \nI am 36 and managed to get a decent house for 291k in the montreal suburbs 3 years ago. \nIt took me and my wife 8 years of savings while renting an appartment to FINALLY get the MINIMUM down payment. \nAs soon as the pandemic started it was already impossible for others that did not buy in time. There was like 60 buyers for every seller. I was just lucky. \nThe current rate at which you can save VS the current rate at which houses go up ? The only way for a young, would be to live in this truck while working for a gold mine.

You are right. I am Canadian and it's cold, I mean, very cold. We can't wait for the summer which do not last and are very short. With the pandemic situation, everything changed in the last 2 years. Masks, take out, social distancing, no restaurants, cinema things like that, it got worst. I took an early retirement we moved in the country side where our parents were raised and all of our cousins and brother & sister are, people know each other. It's totally different. You go anywhere you are not a number, you are people. The bad parts are there are no much work or job available, you have to wait to get older to live there or if your lucky enough to get a job, you keep it, no choice and all the muskitos for a month in spring, it's so bad that you can't stay outside for too long. We call this ''muskito clouds''.

I'm so lucky I've got dual citizenship Canadian and British passports so after living in Canada for 10 years I decided to move back to the UK ?? to settle down with my wife and my beautiful kids. One thing I hated about Canada was the weather, public transport, lack of fashion and the foods was horrible. BCer here. I've lived in Victoria BC on Vancouver island most of my life. Personally I do not like flat landscapes. I feel happier living near the ocean and the mountains. I have never lived in any other province but I have lived in Dublin and London UK. This is home for me and I feel extremely lucky. The cost of living here is EXTREMELY expensive and that is by far the biggest problem because we just keep getting overrun with wealthy people from other places who generally suck.

Yes we are. We went to a thrift store where they insisted they take my moms bag and put it behind the counter. They didn't say anything about my much bigger bag. My mom is brown, I'm fairly light skinned.. as a kid I witnessed a driver telling her and my sister who is also dark skinned that there is no more room on the bus (when Cleary there was) I went to get off and he saw I was with them and he let them on. If I hadn't witnessed it myself I wouldn't have believed it. What's worse was this driver was also brown. I've seen this from people who have grown up here or lived here longer who believe they have more rights than newly arrived people or those with stronger accents.\nI'm lucky I have a group of very welcoming people around me, but I've seen it with bfs and new friends who haven't grown up here and how horrible some people are.\nWorse when you're in your home country and being cast out when this is your home. (Sadly my birth country is no different)

Canada is very immigrant friendly in terms of accepting immigrant to come yes but why ? well because immigration is a big business for this country who has not much technology export and in the same time is second biggest country in the world with population less then California alone . Somebody has to pay the rent and who is better then new comers cause they are well , new and don't know anything lol but after they come here with false hopes and everybody from all directions rip them off well , they loos all the savings and if they are lucky start working at Tim Hortons lol with high rents and cost of living lots of them choose to go back and I am not talking about people coming to Canada from very poor countries like all the Filipino's , for them working in Tim Hortons with minimum wage is a big achievements lol I am talking about people from middle class countries and above . Immigration for Canada is a big money maker and who gives a shit if they go back after a year or 2 , they already contribute to government's by loosing their money and working like a hors for couple of years and pay 45% taxes . Listen any country which is easy ( kind of ) to immigrate its because they need money and cheap workers . Can you immigrate to US or Denmark or any other European country as easy as you can to Canada ? the answer is no with very big N unless you have some thing they don't or need and that thing is not money lol

As a half century Canadian I have this piece of advice to all who want to come live here, in Canada, you MUST work, then you MUST contribute at least 30% of your salary to all Canadian benefits including a pension plan, healthcare, education, and low income help is also available. Then you get old and your Canadian kids think of which old folks home they will put you in, if you're lucky you have a good and safe life from war, gun violence, a fair election system, and open arms to ANY human that wants to become Canadian, and that's about it.\nSo if you're in for a free ride, or a easy living off way of life, forget Canada.\nThe beaver is our emblem, hard working, never quit, perseverance and determination.\nCanadians are known around the world for one thing, ? we are kind and forgiving.\nStay safe, and sorry you didn't like Canada, can't be perfect.✌️??✌??

Lucky me, no one wants me. My country hunts, robs, and tries to kill me constantly. I've been degraded and dehumanized in ways you can only imagine. I have no worth, so I can't go anywhere. I can't move up because I'm disabled and marked. My future is one of darkness as I won't be able to avoid the ground units or satellites forever. I'll get taken out eventually. Well said. Me and my wife were lucky to find very goods jobs and have a good living here. Most of our time here has been during Covid. Prices are crazy, we can not dream of a house even though we are high income earners. No any real friend connection. No fun. Even health care is slow and it is scary to go for a test because of waiting times. Big lockdowns, forced vaccination, limited freedom, no functional society. For people who come from problematic countires Canada can be great. For us who just came here because we heard that Canada is great and we had no problems before comming here, is a disappointment. We are now preparing to exit Canada.

I would be honest with you most of people who leave Canada can have a good life in their home countries (mainly people who say this are from Europe or advanced country in Asia ), well if in your home country you can't make a life at all then what's the point of going back and what I'm taling about here is mainly African countries where everything is expensive and scarce, us living in third country we can even make enough money for a cost of flight alone in a one year of work, wages here can come to be 50$ USD a month that's if your lucky (and not even to say that you will spend most of them on food and health care)

Canada is what you make of it. You can arrive rich and end up poor and you can arrive poor and end up rich. In between that, you can have a great life that balances your needs. I’ve seen immigrants succeed simply because they see the opportunity in front of them . They worked hard in their own counties to stay just above the poverty line ,but when they apply that same effort here it pays off ten times greater. I feel that compared to a lot of immigrants, natural born Canadians come across as spoiled and a little lazy…we are. We haven’t had to struggle the same way someone from a poorer country might have. I’ve talked to people who’ve worked ten to twelve hours a day just to stay afloat. If you did that here you could make plenty of money to live and have some left over. As far as owning a house goes,yes it’s expensive . I feel that homeownership in any country is relatively expensive. Here is a tip; use that soaring home prices to your advantage. Houses are expensive but you can make a lot of money buying and selling. I recommend putting together a buyers group and share the house for a few years, then sell at a profit, buy a bigger house or two smaller houses.try to buy the worst house in the best neighbourhood and fix it up slowly . That house could double in value in five or six years in the Toronto market. This is nothing new of course ,the people from India and China seem to do this a lot here ,it drives up prices and profits. On the downside to this ,you are now part of the problem. As the housing prices are driven up the non wealthy can no longer afford to own a house . They are at the mercy of high rents with no rewards of ownership. They are caught in a cycle of hard work and (relative)poverty. This could also be you if you can’t keep up the house payments and are forced to rent.\nHow well you speak English is important but your native language is also useful here because Canada is half immigrants . As a Canadian that speaks only english (Irish descent)I have to say to all newcomers that I’m very impressed that you have learned a new language and that you may even speak more than two! Don’t be embarrassed about your abilities . I find that in my experience , Canadians do not look down on people just because they don’t know English. In fact ,I’ve known people that have lived here for decades and still know very little English. They are comfortable in their communities and they function just fine. Learn as much English as suits your needs and be proud of any gains you make.\nOutside of Toronto are other cities that you might consider when looking at southern Ontario.From my experience,most are generally the same, just not as big . There are large immigrant communities in London Ontario, Hamilton and just outside of Toronto where housing is just a little bit less expensive but the commute to work is probably longer. This is just my opinion but in the small towns there are less people of colour , (which is what people of no colour call everyone else . I wonder if I’m called a person of no colour in some other culture ? LoL ). That might make it harder for you to feel integrated ,if that’s what you want. I’m not saying that people from other cultures can’t make it in a small town , I’m just saying that it’s definitely not Toronto . Here, people of any nationality can feel like they have a place where they can belong . It seems that no matter where you are from ,there is a community already here that’s set up restaurants and stores and clothing shops and newcomer support systems. And if your from Portugal or China or India or Africa or the Middle East, there are large groups of your kin here that have established roots for generations and you probably know this already.\nToronto means meeting place and that becomes evident quickly. I was born here and it’s one of the things I love the most about my city. I’m not going to say that there isn’t systemic racism here ,the people of no colour still kind of keep the top position , but as we become a minority in a decade or so ,I hope that will shift to a broader spectrum. It’s certainly happening already. One good thing is that the police department tries to hire people of colour so that racialism may play a smaller role. We’re getting used to seeing our politicians more and more reflect their constituents.\nI have to talk about the weather. Because I’m from here I’m used to the extremes of minus thirty and plus thirty . Eventually you get used to it (somewhat). Dressing in the right clothes is important. Summer is easy , but winter is different. It’s trying to kill you. Spend the most that you can afford on winter cloths . If you can afford a quality parka you should get one. The hood can be drawn around the face and stay out of the wind.\nIf not ,think of layers with a outer layer that blocks the wind. We have things called long Johns that are basically full length thick cotton or nylon pants that go on under your pants and a pair of extra thick socks. Buy your boots to fit your thick socks. Try to get the best boots you can afford ,it’s something that you might spend a little extra for but never regret.\nAll in all we are a fairly organized and peaceful society. Most people are friendly and will give you a chance . We have a good social safety net here and you don’t have to be homeless or starving if you don’t want to. There are people and organizations set up to help ,that truly try to get people back on their feet. It’s a good investment that pays off in ways that matter for the quality of life in a big city. I’m not putting my American neighbours down when I say they do things differently. They have their ways ,we have ours. This is just something that we do because we’re trying to learn how to help those that society has discarded or can’t find their place. Sure we have one or two areas where the homeless have pitched tents and we have some resources for them if they want. Unfortunately The mayor recently forced a small camp to move from a very visible place to more scattered locations. There were social workers involved as well as protesters trying to protect them. I didn’t like that happening and I want to see even more resources dedicated to them ,but on the other hand ,we are trying to avoid something like what happens on the streets when it’s just ignored. When I see YouTube videos of the streets of Philadelphia I’m extremely saddened. I thank the lucky stars that I was born in Toronto Canada.\nFor all it’s pollution and expense and crowds ,I think it’s a great place to do almost anything your heart desires . For every ugly building there is a beautiful park ,for every honked horn there is a birds call , for every cold and dark day there is beautiful sunny one around the corner.

My biggest problem with Canada is to get my Citizenship ceremony! It will be 2 full years since they started my aplication. Some are lucky and have good experiance and some like me are experiancing citizenship nightmare!

Work ethnic, I wonder, even productivity, very sure they are no where to Japanese or korean, even to Europeans, I was very lucky left the country after going through the weather, people, migrants plus government rules and regulations that was in 88, was in Winnipeg, now it takes me few hours to Thailand puket to enjoy life. Canada has lots of programs allowing you to immigrate ‘easily’, but in my case Ircc simply lost my file and there’s absolutely nothing I can do about that. Some pll are lucky some are not, but the whole immigration process here is a chaos

I have been living here for 28 years (that’s most of my life, I came her as a young child). My sister’s and I have experienced first hand racism due to our hijab in elementary school, high school, after 9-11 during job interviews (myself and my brothers due to their name being Muhammed). Over time things have gotten better alhumdolillah but racism exists everywhere and many have experienced it. Where there are people that use racial slurs or acts of discrimination etc, there are many more that will support you and guide you. I love Canada and wouldn’t live anywhere else but to say it’s not there and every case is dealt with the way it was dealt with our London family, is not the case. If it was, what happens with them would not have happened. May Allah help us treat one another with tolerance and love as Islam intends it to be. Well, you are lucky you can go to the US to drown out all of your problems, in Iraq the healthcare is bad, the education system is bad (especially in public school where kids get hit.) and the people are not nice.
