Germany created their own problem in their flawed, points-based model of their government pension system. It is like we are paying backwards, where our money earned right now is taken away from us to pay for the pensions of retired people who earned those rights to a government pension years or decades ago during their working lives. We are then given points, with the hope that the next generations one day pay for our own pensions. See the problem?\n\nInstead, people’s hard earned monthly payments towards pension could have instead have been invested for them into actively-managed portfolios of bonds, equities and commodities. Thereby, each and every person currently on pension could have enjoyed the benefits of decades of compounding growth!\n\nNow we are here, as the video says, 2 workers are needed to cover the pension of 1 retired person. This is absolutely absurd and they will never be able to attract 400,000 new skilled workers every year with the current issues highlighted in this video.\n\nMy best advice - when you are working in Germany, seriously think about it to save and invest a portion of your net income and prepare yourself for a future where you cannot solely rely on your German pension!

They need to use the model of other provinces. Tenant should pay the rent into court pending the hearing. If tenant turns out to be right, then he/she can get their money. If wrong (which is usually the case) then at least the landlord gets the money rather than having to chase the tenant for years.

That's fucked up and it makes really freaking mad. I worked so many years and over times for what. I got chronicly ill didn't work for 3 years and got SSI and I don't even get $900 dollars. Migrants just walk over and get $1,400 WTF I'm a citizen who came here legally and paid my way ? I have nothing against migrants but darn you get all those benefits why then give them so much money. They need to do what Canada does with migrants. No wonder the migrants there eventually work and have stability. The USA needs to take a class on this.

The real tragedy here is that workers need to become landlords to shore up their retirement, this is one of the key culprits in the housing crisis - you have to take someone else’s house and force them to pay you rent because you got there first. In the end, they’ll be no retirement for either the landlord or the “tenant” - not because of disputes, but because of the real elephant in the room. Instability, founded on inflation - you can’t create wealth without sacrificing stability - the Romans tried opulence and ended up printing lead coins. What we call from money comes from thin air, but really is worth it’s source. People fighting people when the problem is really the weight of the future.

This should not be legal. That's messed up. They're taking those jobs from people that actually need those jobs. It's not easy for people in South Asian middle class families to get these jobs as their English is not fluent so these jobs go to privileged and educated families. They're getting the airline blacklisted by doing this, reducing jobs for the poor in their home country. This is selfish. As someone from a 3rd world country, this is dangerous. I've heard so many cases of people ending up as slaves because some idiot conned them into doing this. Canada also needs to look into corrupted politicians getting PR cause they bought land there through money laundering schemes in the home country. And these issues have existed even before Trudeau came into power. Stop blaming just 1 person, blame the entire system.

When you save money for retirement, the govt takes your pension. When you try to save money from each paycheque, the inflationary prices of groceries/gas/utilities takes it away. If you need to go to a hospital or doctor visit, you have to wait months or can only settle for the most basic of services. If you try to own real estate, there's always some scheme to steal your money either by jackal tenants or the new capital gains tax. The whole persona of the Western world being the land of milk and honey is gone and has become a dark money-sucking debacle that only feeds the corrupt running the Federal reserves or World Banks. Unless you're a country like Ukraine or Israel, you get nothing.

That first comment saying we don’t need a million more Ubers drivers and Tim Hortons workers doesn’t come across very well. Lots of people coming here are highly educated. \nOn the other hand. Tims hires immigrants because the typical “Canadian” minimum wage worker doesn’t show up to shifts, are late frequently, or have poor work ethics. Many immigrants have to bring alot of money and skills just to enter the rat race on the lowest level and be ripped off in pay dumping and rent hiking schemes. In the end everyone depending on income and on housing on rent or credit is put against each other while some make a awful lot of money doing nothing.\nAt least it would help if the create a sheme where people have to sign up to staying in places in the West for a couple of years where hands are needed.

I was going to say the immigrant only thing is one thing on TOP of the INSANE pricing... you gotta be a girl working and can't have ANY vice or plan on having ANY kind of life or freedom even though you pay to live there, even working a full time job you will be struggling and majority of these lower rent places were great and usually always been for students no matter what your sex or where you are from to which if you are getting government money to attend school you can only work a certain amount of hours with that funding for school being BARELY enough to get by and forget about it if you have disability you get slightly more but NO landlord wants you if you have disability.... Landlords need to be stopped and controlled.

people are confused. Immigration is Not the problem, accepting immigrants without money/ investment/skills is the problem. If u only accept highly educated individual or someone who can bring/invest a sum of money in your country, then immigration is a positive move considering the current population of most countries are declining with a lot of senior citizens.\n\nThe money these legal immigrants invested will help boost the economy of the host country, create jobs and etc.\n\nSolely blaming housing price because of the influx of immigration is not the whole picture, if the host country can establish a strict system of requirements for the immigrants to meet, and cap the number of immigrants per year, immigration can be a positive for the host country.\n\nAn army of Uber delivery immigrants will only pull the country productivity down because they need a place to stay and they cant contribute much to the society, thus, the housing price going up.

This came up in my feed, I'm in England ??????? and I've always rented as finances have never really been enough to get on the property ladder. I started off in a Private rental and thankfully I'm now in Social housing with an Assured Tenancy so it would be extremely difficult for the housing association to evict me and they have to prove to fault in court and they can't serve me a no fault notice. However rent has always been my number 1 priority bill, when I rented privately I had a Standing order set up with the bank and they drew the money out every month to pay the landlord. I set it so they drew it 3 days before the rent payment date and to account for weekends as banks don't pay out on weekends. In England ??????? rent is classed as paid when it leaves the tenants account not when a landlord receives it, so that's why I set up to leave 3 days early so it never debited late. Now I live in Social housing and it's been fantastic for me and my needs and I'm super lucky as there isn't much social housing about here anymore. I now pay rent by the method requested by the housing association which is direct debit and I pay it on the due date now as direct debits are credited to your rent account on the actual due date even if it's a weekend and then bank draws it out on the Monday. Rent is so important, I can call the housing association if anything is broken or not working and they send someone to fix it without any extra charge to me as it's all in with the rent. You have to pay your rent and if you can't afford it then look for something cheaper and give notice to your landlord.

People complain about doctors leaving to the States for more money. But reality is, there is no job opening for new specialists finishing up fellowship. So many people come and commit crimes, ignore our laws and live off the government. We needed certain skilled people and I could care less what country they come from as that immigration is crucial to our economy and population. Right now there isn't enough housing for our own citizens. It's irresponsible. If families want to sponsor an immigrant family that's awesome. The rest of us want our tax money actually going to our citizens. That's not racist, that's common sense.

The government says we need immigrants to fill the jobs left by retiring boomers. Millennials, plus GenX ers out number Boomers so there are lots of people out there to fill jobs. Corporations like Mac Donalds, Tim Hortons etc. want immigrants so they can keep their costs low and make even more money.

I love how he mentions in the end about the housing crisis but does not address it. Housing has become unaffordable for most new homeowners yet we got all these landlords stocking up on more properties just to make more money for themselves. Yes laws need to be changed so tenants can't abuse it, but laws also needs to be changed so people aren't owning multiple homes while rest can't even afford a primary residence. I don't like going into bidding wars to purchase my first property when the people I am bidding against already own multiple properties.

In Manitoba it’s a little bit easier but the RTB is such a drawn out process. \n\nYou need to have justifying grounds. Easy. They didn’t pay. You have to serve them their termination, with a minimum of five business days to vacate. This is where it gets tricky. You have to attempt at least 3 times on different dates at different times of the day. Usually around 7:00 AM, Noon, around 7:00 PM. If that fails. You have to pay to be allowed to post the notice on the door. After that you have declare they’ve been served. Then book a hearing which can take a month or more. At the hearing which can take hours or minutes depending on how well prepared you are, or how much the tenant wants to argue. \n\nOnce the hearing is concluded. It can take 1-2 weeks to get the final decision. If they’re told to vacate. They usually have 5 business days before you can involve law enforcement. Which then takes another week for them to show up. Finally the landlord can change the locks. \n\nExcept, the tenant can then file an appeal. And take the landlord back into a hearing which can take another month. If the tenant fails to change the verdict it’s final. Then you need permission from the RTB to send them to collections, which can then take months if ever, to get the money back.

bro thought being a landlord is a money farm. the girl is in the wrong for sure but we need her side of the story to fully understand the situation. perhaps she's doing what my friend had to just to finally get the attention from the landlord to solve issues in the building. my friend had to go 8 months not paying his rent (keeping that money separately to please lawyers) just so a landlord would get in contact with him about his apartment ceiling caving in forcing the dudes family to live out of their living room. this landlord just wants to retire, i bet the building has major issues thats being ignored.

This is criminal...two sides of the story here i can assume...but both sides are at fault...the tenant is a criminal and the landlord should have done more...put pressure on the landlord and tenants court...the landlord and tenants organization is a joke...no one takes them serious because they have a huge back load of court cases is not an excuse...the government wants more housing with out properly funding the courts and they are costing owners money 3 fold. It's a systematic virus...these figures these landlords quoted do not even include the damage the location has after the entitled criminal tenant leaves behind. I am an Indian and every day I see ads from Canadian universities promising me work visas and top quality education. I also get calls from agents time to time saying my alma matter is more than enough to land me a job there and they just need a certain amount of money to send me to canada with work permit without any college enrollment.

When I came to Canada as student 10 years ago I \n- never planned to work part time when I was in school. I only made the move when I had enough money to live and thrive without off campus jump\n- I am SHOCKED when people say they aren’t prepared. I have only been in Canada for seven months now, but I noticed a few things about its economy that led to this mess. I noticed that Canada has no globalized companies, meaning the government only makes a little money from doing business with other nations. Businesses here are lazier than their neighbor, the USA, or even in my country, Vietnam, which could be due to a lack of competitors. Cad also has the biggest forest reserve and largest oil deposit but is the lowest exporter. So I wonder how on Earth it stays in the top 10 wealthiest countries with such lazy activities. Up to this point, foreigners are the biggest income of Canada; this country is truly built on immigrants. To keep the country running, it must attract more foreigners. Without int' students, how much do citizens have to pay to keep schools running? If you view it differently, the government also sells the PR through SV Visa because, let's be honest, if millions of investors have invested, there should be something or at least one globalized company, but there are none. From $75k to $200k, foreigners can buy PR for every family member. It is considered affordable for Asian families compared to the USA or Australia. On top of that, another scam is a carbon tax, which means the government needs to learn how to make money rather than invent taxes and sell dreams to foreigners.

Canada needs half a million new workers brought in every year to function. Not happy about that? Have more Canadian babies, and quickly please! But housing? Different beast. How much of this is because of foreign (Chinese) investments snapping up scores of apartments, just to park money? Apartments that will not be used for housing people. Africans can come to school ? in Eastern Europe, schools are free, health care is free, we have the lowest unemployment rate in Eastern Europe, shops are open on Sunday, you can earn extra money on the weekend. Eastern Europe, Intermarium countries need workers for industrial plants, processing, highway construction, road traffic, sidewalk coatings, infrastructure, food is cheap in hypermarkets, lunch in a milk bar costs 2/3 € ? euros per day, electricity in summer costs €25 ? euros per month in spring and summer, from April to October, in autumn and winter electricity costs €50 ? euros per month..

Immigration is essential. Blame the leaders for failing to provide infrastructure. This is also true outside of the immigration issue. We have not addressed or overcome the slashing and burning of the 90's. Don't blame the need for immigration. Blame politicians for ignoring the elephant in the room. They have to spend money to properly integrate folks. It's not fair to anyone.

I got laid off 5 weeks ago ( no renewal of contract).. after 7 years working for that NFP.. I applied for snap and unemployment… while applying for jobs( social worker field)… first, they ask for so many documents… including my bank account….( again I was laid off .. not fired nor left my job, nor finding reasons not to work all those years ), department of labor had a mandated zoom meeting to discuss what I needed to do 4 weeks after I was laid off( like i don’t know)… I ve been working for years and paying taxes… a lot of them in NYC, I was also told that I have to show what I am doing to search for work and eventually should take a job( even if the salary is low..ridiculous)… I was also informed that I may get a call from investigator from DOL..they may call individuals receiving unemployment benefits($441 a week after taxes?)… to verified that I was searching and applying for jobs( even though I enter my activities related to work weekly on their website…..)….. meanwhile… people with 0 legal documentation are entering the US and living here, free snap, free housing, free health insurance!!!! Lala land!!!! Can’t wait for this non sense to stop!!! Every corner of NY , you see families begging for money. Food…I feel bad as a human being, but refuse to help or I ll be joining them too… welfare system needs to change too! The politics NEED to change!!!All the best !

the answer is quite simple , the goverment has put a lot of debt on the books in the last years , so they need people to pay for it , high taxes make sure you people work long hours to pay for the apartment , its the king of scheme i call the postmodern enslavement , having civil right makes little sense if you dont have money to move around , Gaynada has become the trap , trap for suckers ..

Thanks to immigrants Canada has survived this long. Immigrants bring in much needed dollars and skills that locals don’t have. Further, immigrants are the hard working people unlike the ‘locals’ who rather than work two jobs to make ends meet, sit back and complain how bad things are. \nIf you haven’t guessed, I’m an immigrant too and have been in Canada for the past 24 years. I have contributed to the coffers and have not taken any money out from it for the past 24 years!
