The most racism I experienced in school was from teachers. Its the most profound kind of racism, because they are authority figures. The thing is when your fellow students display racism it doesn't have the same gravity as it does when your teacher does it because you know your teacher does know better but they truly believe it.In University, I actually had a teacher give a lesson that was so tinged with racism that it really broke me down, because what I've come to realize is that so many people think that being racist is saying actual racist words and don't understand that perpetuating stereotypes are the most prevalent forms of racism.  It is demoralizing because it feels like a losing battle when your teacher is perpetuating racially disparaging ideas to an entire class, and you think about how many people are going to be influenced by that idea and in turn perpetuate it. I realized that this teacher really insidiously believed what she was saying was true, but that it just wasn't politically correct to say it. The main principle of white privilege is that white people get to be individuals but people of colour get grouped together by the most base stereotype of their race.  I don't think Black-focused schools are the solution. I think more integrated schools with diverse populations of students and teachers are the solution.\n Then there are concrete issues of race, space and the law. For example when you come to realize that carding continues in Toronto, and that most residents do not care that young Black men are being harassed and treated like criminals by the police because it does not affect their community, it makes you wonder if people are only inclined to feel empathy for those who look like them.

All u have to do is read their manuals the koran hadiths ,it is by far the most evil content i have read .How is trudeau able to defend what is there black and white .He needs and will be held accountable .Stepgen Harper is right he knows what is in their books and hist of muhamad .Evil pure evil is oslam

I am actually shocked to see this information. I did not know. I travelled to Vancouver & Vancouver Island 5X. 2X with my African-American girlfriend. I didn't see any biased behavior at all. Of course, I was not looking for it. We were treated courteously on both sides of the boarder. My grandmother was held as a White slave for most of her youth (indentured servant) in Canada. So, I knew through her that it was one of the possibilities. I am sorry to learn of it. This is a great issue for Americans to get over.

I'm white living in Europe, but I think that the way other people treat you is also very dependable on your facial expressions, on what the first impression you make etc.I have had numerous experiences in my life when going with friend (shopping, or organizing something) that because he looks more friendly or more attractive so people naturally speak to him first.Especially talking to females.Not sure how to fix it.Once people know me, it's much easier.Funny world.

Funny because it took me months to find an apartment when I was single, people just never called me back and acted uninterested despite not knowing my salary or credit score. Meanwhile, my now husband (who's white) went house hunting for us, was able to get responses within a matter of hours. We got a house that same week. Smh

Seems like Blacks would make the best judges. \n\nAlso, in terms of getting asked where you are from, I think that's a lack of initiative on our part as minorities. it's not the religion.... it's the mac's convenience and the corner stores selling tropicana juice for 6 bucks a liter. It's the family oriented hiring policies and the rural area stores being bought and not offering fishing bait, ice or firewood but instead offering dollar store fishing lures for 20 bucks. it's the electronic stores that sell tape decks and old CD players. The stuff that really makes a bad impression is when a muslim family buys a Pizza Pizza or a subway and then changes the restaurant so that there is no where to be seated and the food is processed by someone who won't look me in the eye once and speaks a language that I can't understand to an employer about my sandwich and i will never know what the problem was. I feel like my spanish and native friends treat me the same as them. I feel like the scottish guy who hates me for not waking up at 5 in the morning is only mad because i'm not working as hard as him. I'm saying that maybe a lot of muslims don't want to be our friends and maybe some do... but it seems like they don't want to be my friend but will message a pretty white girl on every single facebook post with paragraphs of physical praise. i probably get a lot of facts wrong... but that world may be too far away for us to acclimate into each others societies. I'd like it though if we could all live in such a manner where we could feel like we aren't all gunning for a chunk of the world.

I work in a small retail store where I play both the manager, and the shoplifter catcher, and tbh, the usual shoplifters are suburban white kids. Haha, I look for a lot of things in a shoplifter and it's always the damn white kids that check all those boxes and then, even while knowing I'm watching them, will try to take something. It's crazy.

Remember, this is by the same CBC that put out a casting call for any race, except Caucasians. I know the CBC likes to live in their Toronto-centric bubble where white people are a minority, but the rest of Canada is still overwhelmingly white.\n\nAnd if police were actually allowed to keep race-based stats still, it would show why certain races are profiled. \nMultiracial societies simply do not work.

Black people do not steal more than white people! If the only people you are watching is black and brown people of course that is the only people you will catch. I had a white friend that worked at a Walmart and she said she caught way more white people stealing than blacks but management did not call the police over half the time and let the person go. But for the black people that were caught the police was called every time. I have even seen it myself when the sales person clearly saw the makeup in this white girls pocket, I know she saw it because I silently pointed it out to her and she just walked away. This happens all the time, but white people thinks black and brown people just like to make things up.

Blacks arent the problem in canada as much as it is in the US. There was no KKK here. The people that do deserve the knowledge is the Aboriginals. The government treated them bad and so did the churches. They are what the Canadian government should be addressing and not so much the blacks as they are just as equal as a white man in Canada now. Jobs for the government 1 year have to hire more minorities then another year females and what not. I cant speak for what it is like in the US but where I live blacks are treated the same as whites. There are some arabs that think they are the gangsters and hate white peopl for ni reason. I asked them why they hates whites so much and they said its because they are pussys.
