My sister and her five children were homeless for months and couldn’t get any help from any Wilms women shelters or programs, and never did. She finally got into the crappy apartment in the worst neighborhood, working two jobs and trying to homeschool five children.\n\nShe has literally been on a waitlist for two entire years and she is an American citizen. \n\nI have massive amounts of empathy for any of these people and countries that are run poorly or struggling., but destroying our country with complete chaos is not gonna solve either of our problems.

I work 12 hr a day 5 days a week to pay $4000 plus utilities in so cal not including rest of the bills ! Sad reality is that the wage isn’t keeping up with inflation and most young American’s can’t afford to move out and live a comfortable life. I can’t imagine coming to this country with nothing trying to live the “American dream”

Oh my goodness...Canada seems to have run out of red carpets...Canada has problems. It has racism. It has sexism, yet with only high school four of my sisters became bank management and executives...and we have a blue-collar mixed-race heritage. But despite that Canada has a tiny tiny economy compared to its immediate neighbour and still delivers an impressively comparable lifestyle...plus a health care system that struggles to find a way to be universal in our post-pandemic world...that actually saved my American-immigrant husband's life. If you can understand the sheer competitiveness of trying to get a job in this marketplace then you might understand that despite Canada's best efforts it's not the land of Oz. If other countries are better sorted and have your dream jobs waiting by all means have that good life where you can. Yeah, I've been talking to a Canadian over discord for almost 2 years now trying to learn more about the country and what he told me was shocking. Canadian make about 25% less and pay 33% more in taxes then American and somehow a house in the middle of goddamn nowhere cost as much as a house in Portland. If you live in NYC, SF, or LA yeah you can forget about buying a house but its not like in America housing is unaffordable everywhere like in Canada. In Texas, you can get a big beautiful house for 300k, the catch being that real estate taxes is really high and you still be paying that even after the mortgage been paid off. Florida is affordable but hurricanes, Cleveland is really cheap despite a good reputation, and a house in the rural areas is easily under 100k. Canada pretty much have no houses under 300k which is made worse by the fact that they make less, taxed more, investment is harder + more expensive, and it actually hard to establish credit because they don't have looser standard like in the US.

As long as a Demorat is the president this will continue. Remember these aren't the smartest people from those countries trying to break in. They will all try to get some sort of intitlement after they get here. We can't take care of our own citizens now so I see it getting worse for Americans in the future. Countries in courage this so they can get employment in the US and send cash back to their families back home. That helps their economy and their government doesn't have to spend as much money to help their own people. So Americans are helping to take care of their citizens for them.
