I’m really tired of this - they do nothing to help the Canadian people the seniors who are Canadian born - but we have to lockdown can’t go anywhere but letting in these people who could have Covid through the airports letting them come here have more babies more tax dollars spent to support them ! Giving them metro housing or pay no rent for 2 years while woman who are born here sit in shelters bounce around from hotel to hotel - or our homeless need help ——— but noooooo help other people in different countries before our own - I’m voting Justin out ?✌️

I grew up in Edmonton and left Canada 30 years ago because the Edmonton Police simply would not leave me alone. I couldn't even drive my car around the block without winding up in a courtroom. The police harassed my parents for years after I left hoping to find me. (i.e. STAASI). Now I live in subtropical Australia and still drive the same Oldsmobile. I never have legal problems here and at one stage owned three houses. In Canada I am labelled as a racist but here I have a Chinese wife and my daughter is fluent in Mandarin. The reason that taxes are so high in Canada is that Multiculturalism costs money. Every time some monument or cultural center is built, someone has to pay for it. My greatest disdain of Canadian society is the political correctness. I remember before 1984 when one could tell a joke without fear of incrimination.

I’m Canadian born but mums family is from Europe. \n\nIt’s seems like not a lot has changed since the 1960’s my grandfather had trouble finding a job for a while due to not having Canadian experience. \n\nIt took my friends 7years to become citizens here. As a born Canadian. They had to go back to school. Unless you are in the medical profession I don’t see why you have to go back to school. \n\nMost of our health care does come from taxes yes I can’t tell you how great it is that I don’t have to pay $80,000 per surgery. I have 17 over my life. In other places in the world that would make me homeless. \nBut the dental care has cost me a lot because of my condition. But even for me that is a fair trade off. (I rather drugs, dental would be covered) \n\nTaxes also include subsided things for the public, libraries, roads that fixed, reduced fares for public transportation, reduced health cost for low income families that’s not covered by the government. etc. Not all great but the health care coverage is great to not have to pay in full. I only pay $6000 in taxes at most a year. I have a low income. The more you make the more they will tax you because it helps get the services for everyone. That’s why you are taxed more if you make more.

I know Canada is not perfect and I find you’re a bit hard on the red maple leaf... just because you don’t find the same things as your native country. It’s like\nfrench people coming from France, going to Quebec province an complaining about the food, the weather etc... well we’re not France, sorry to say! But I can\ntry to understand your situation; it’s probably inevitable that the comparison between your country and Canada would show up eventually. I see regularly \nimmigrants moving here and it’s true that it’s not easy. (Some people will have to be cab drivers because they can’t find work in their field). But you have\nopportunities if you work hard. I have the example of a Russian truck driver who move here with his family (wife, two kids). The man started by working for\na general transport company, then was able to buy his own truck. Now he’s able to work with whoever he wants. So I think every experience is different.\nOne other thing I noticed is that for families coming here it will always be easier for kids (even teens) to adapt quicker then their parents. I live in the east\n(the maritimes) and there is not very large cities. Some immigrants that come here will stay for a while but then they would move to a larger city (like\nToronto) because that city must have the most ethnic diversity in Canada. For cultural differences true that Canadians are like Americans in the «none»\nfashion trending. It’s a different mentality then Europe because over there fashion is a statement; you are judge on your appearance. Here, not as much.\nIt shows you don’t like winter and if you don’t your not a real Canadian! :-) Don’t generalize, a lot of people here like winter. And for taxes I don’t have a clear\nexplanation other then we have a huge empty country that needs roads, infrastructures, etc. and someone has to pay for it! (fun fact, all the population\nof Canada could fit in a country like Poland... it shows how empty it is here). Finally, and I heard this many times, maybe the people or the part of the\ngovernment to blame is Immigration Canada. Maybe they give to much of an idealistic image of Canada! Wow what a great and accurate discussion. As a Physician, here from the UK, this is true and things are getting worse. Another negative for Canada is it is a cultural dessert. Also when I came here 15 years ago it was well paid but today not so and when you consider the tax you pay on goods taxes are more like 60% to 65%. There is a huge difference in dealing with foreign and Canadian patients. Excellent blog, well done.

Undocumented immigrant (illegal immigrant)...has no legal basis for seeking Asylum in Canada. Another point, how many of these people is Canada expected to take? How much do the tax payers have to pay? \n\nMy parents came in legally and became Canadian citizens.

This is no doubt an amazing video about Canada, yes Canada is great and we who choose to live here are enjoying some blessings of Allah almighty. That's all is good. New Pakistani-Canadians generation is growing here, we need to focus how can we establish a connection for them so that they feel proud about the place of forefathers and can pay back to Pakistan as well. Great video! Reminded me of when I immigrated to Canada 21 years ago with 8 years of back home experience, still I had to wait for 5 long years during which I went to school twice to get into my field here, and countless times thought about moving back, but once stepped into my field here those thoughts went away. Speaking of taxes, I don't read my pay stubs in much detail, I'm happy as long as I'm able to pay my bills. Canadian Healthcare system doesn't pamper too much, but it's a great blessing in serious emergencies, I and my family experienced several times getting health services worth of several thousands of dollars and ending up paying nothing, so can't complain. At the end Canada is a great country and a great place to live!

As a Canadian it’s not hard budgeting here... on your pay cheque you see where your taxed money is going... if something happens to you and you can’t work you will be okay

i am Canadian, always lived here, & love it, 68 1/2 yrs. I am personally on my own health & wellness & weight loss channel. I am 4 lbs from my 100 lb goal. & tell my story. 33 months tomorrow. Hubby pays $200 a month for blue cross at his work, we get free medical tests, $100 a script, most dental & eye tests free, hubby got his artifical eye free, $800.00, also $800 for private MRI. The tax in Canada is not very high. At least compared to many other Western Nations. \nI came from Germany to Canada and the tax in Canada is a joke me according to me. Income tax with social contributions is roughly 42% even on average salaries in Germany. Sales tax is 19%. Cost for energy and fuel is almost ten times higher than in Canada.\nSure, Canada is pretty expensive. Housing, food and medication are massively overpriced compared to many at EU countries. I need medication every month and in Canada I pay roughly 180 Dollar while in Germany it was zero. Even without the health insurance I would only pay 30€ a month for that.\n\nOverall Canada is good, but doesn't necessarily offer a better quality of life. I only live here because I like Canadian people and the mentality is great.

3:13 none of our health care is free.. none..it better to think of it pre pay if you use it or not... \n\nUnless you can magic medicine and diagnostic tools, that's what a percentage of your tax pays.\n\nIn my opinion neither the USA system of health care, nor canada do I see much off difference in level of care.\n\nWhat I mean that is each system has its trade offs. For Canada small thing like broken arm or need information or certain medication i n that way Canada supior way, it's fairly quick treatment and tends to be effictive. Where Canada starts lagging behind is really in RnD and access to life saving procedures. Too many people die on waiting lists in Canada as there is not enough resources to go around, y'all have waited 4-8 H(normal is 2-4) just to be seen before don't fib to web now. \n\nAnd since we lack competition for newer/better medical procedure, 80-90% of our medical knowledge comes from the states or ww2 Germany.\n\nWhile on say the USA side, due to the competition they are constantly making advancements (which in the long run makes overall treatment cheaper and closer affordable). While with Canada you have fixed prices, which actually encourages stagnantion in development as anything that streamlines the hospital making it more efficient hurst the hospitals next year of available funding.. while being hurt in the USA can really set the individual back.\nIn Canada you get an overall lower quality of care as the talented doctors end up moving to the states where they can get paid what they are worth not stuck on a fixed income. And after all that rare illnesses in canada as stated don't have any coverage meaning that any one hit with hit rare illness finds out the hard way they can either pay for life saving medication or well pass on.. as most Canadian are taxed to high to have any substantial savings available for such an emergency as they fall into the trap that the government has me covered. \n\nSo each system has its positives and negatives and as far as I'm concerned it's not talked about enough honestly up hear.\n\nIf you have been to the dentist in canada thats basically the usa system, though the prices are fixed in some areas so some services won't be available.. as they don't update the payment schedule often enough so certain procedures pay well, other well can actually cost the dentist out of pocket. \nTherefore in some areas you can't get certain procedures done at all the dentist will refuse.

I lived in both countries for years and there are bigger differences. The USA has guns! Canada doesnt allow just anyone like Adam Lanza to get a gun! Canadians pay more taxes to cover health care while Americans buy their insurance.

I currently live in TX & as soon as I finish my nursing degree I plan on starting my immigration journey to Canada. Hopefully, soon after I gain Canadian citizenship I can renounce my U.S citizenship bc I have no desire to ever step foot back into the U.S or pay them a dime in taxes.

Canadian immigration sucks. There is no control. I came as an immigrant and I witnessed many heart wrenching situations. Ghost immigrants and non resident Canadian citizens living in India, Dubai, Russia, Lebanon, USA, Israel, Turkey, HongKong etc. They barely lived in Canada, yet they have same rights like us, take child support subsidies, welfare, CPP, Old Age while we bust our a....s in the cold to pay taxes and build the Canadian system. It took me 10 years in Canada to acquire my citizenship with proper legality. Paying Canadian taxes for 10 yeara ang being in Canada for 10years. So painful to hear this lind of manipulation.

Canadians can't trespass in facilities that they pay for with their own tax dollars, but illegals can trespass in our country and live off the taxpayer. It doesn't look like we have to obey the law. Mississauga is now Muslimssauga, refugees and asylum seekers cheats Canada and once they get Canadian passport they go back to Syria or Iraq for holidays then they don't face precautions or life threats. Yea, but the immigrant ( all races) kids get far better grades in school, and that generation pays 30% tax every year of their 100k salary... They're the ones that gonna take this country into next century of technologically advanced world. Issue with economy starts with the family. If you have single parent family and social issues.. kids aren't gonna make it in this highly competitive world. Please go to Google, facebook, Microsoft. .. you'll see immigrants left right and centre. Lets face the facts, immigrant mentality is what builds a proper county. First generation immigrants are lost and weird and seems odd, second generation is the cream of the crop . Third slows down then 4th is basically are the ones complaining about the first generation. Solution is to use these people and figure out how they will help this county in the next 30 years, not tomorrow. Look at how Irish, Ukrainian, Chinese, Italian etc.. came as first gen immigrants (to this native land). Cold.. lost.. try to use their wits to survive in a colonial economy. That second generation built what we have now. Immigration is a god damn economical strategy man... Issue with homelessness, has nothing to do with immigration. Homelessness is related to addiction and mental health. Most immigrants don't suffer from homelessness because they have relatives that look after each other. 3rd generation+ Canadians (all races) lack that.. if you're 18 you are own your own, thats where that issue is with homelessness.

I know Canadians that are living in dumps these people are sleeping in good condition why not Canadians what is wrong I have to pay taxes and my daughter who is handy cap gets nothing from the government explain that, The welfare gave her 400. for a month to find a place you come and find a place. Now you have to eat buyfood and female things yes right I can't do it I want the government to put my daughter up in a hotel which is clean and feed her. She is dying so skinny.

What killed me is she was eligible for the Working Poor Tax Credit. It goes to show how easy these rules are to exploit. Someone could sit down and calculate exactly what they need to make, how many children they need to have, what activities to pursue etc so they can gain access to all these tax benefits. Make the most money while paying the least tax. There was an article in the nation post about this which discussed Trudeau's statement that the poor do not pay tax. It is crazy the tax credits people get and it makes it so something like close to 40% of people do not actually pay tax. Its one thing when working canadian's benefit, but not Chinese business people who come here, buy a house, maintain their status under false pretenses, then get credits for being poor.

I remember when my family immigrated here over 15+ years ago and my brother was only 1 years old. 2 weeks after coming here he slipped on the floor and cut open his forehead on the hinges of our door and he was bleeding everywhere (he later had to get 6 stitches to fix it), my father was out working and we didn't know how to contact the police or hospital because we didn't have a home phone yet. We used our neighbors and the ambulance came and I strictly remember that because we didn't have our health cards yet they wouldn't start work even though my father said he will pay when he gets there. I remember my mother and I feeling helpless while my 1 year old brother was bleeding out (the hospital staff tried to stop the bleeding with cotton ball and bandage) and I distinctly remember that they did not start helping my brother even WHILE my father was paying but only started work after the bill was completed. Even though my family felt helpless at that time and we felt it was unfair, we never blamed Canada because it was their policy and they have every right to follow protocols. So it makes me angry to see people who walked into our country illegally getting far better treatment than my family ever got even though it might not be anything as life threatening as ours was. It makes me angry that our hard earned tax dollars are used to help people who have no motivation to help the country that gave them asylum during war.. It's actually the opposite as a lot of these families call their free housing "disgusting" and compare it to "living like a slave". I'm angry because little girls at my brothers own school are getting shoved and assaulted by refugee boys as young as 6-7 and are let off with a simple "don't do that again" and a meeting with the parents. This is not the Canada my family came to love and call home so I can't imagine the hardships of Canadians who are living here for 3, 4, 5+ generations 😔😔

I am naturalized Canadian. Have had never troubles with law . Have been paying tax since I immigrated to this beautiful country. Why this culprit is not being deported? He doesn't deserve to be a Canadian. When he got the citizenship he swore to obey the laws of this great country. Such behavior should not be tolerated. Tax payers are being punished for lack of legal system against such criminals. I am sure all these people he helped were aware that they were lying.

1. its just wt rich ppl with money do, they dont put their eggs in one basket and spread their wealth all over the world. the political climate in china probably further extravagate this even further as they have no real security to their assets, the government can seize any time for legal reasons (china have tax but nobody pays them, the government doesnt collect business and personal tax as their revenue. but if u get on their wrong side they will use this as an excuse. if u pay taxes properly u cant compete with ppl who dont, so yea governement use this shady trick in china).\nJust look at any millionare, they probably have investment all over the world. the reason y we r seeing this with chinese is that they've gotten their wealth recently and have just started this diversification of asset hence the scale and timing. japanese had their time, Indians will probably have their time soon once they develop. its like seeing lottery winners buying ferrari, just a normal thing to see, but ppl will get uncomfortable and shame them lol.\n2. this reason is minor but chinese passport is really inconvenient when travelling, having a canadian or US passport helps alot if they r doing international business.\n\nNow to the claims of taking over and colonisation, the ppl claiming colonisation r probably from US canada or australia. ppl r mostly afraid of the things theyve done or think to do to others, i doubt any chinese are thinking about colonisation when its not really their mindset. the worst chinese are thinking are u praising or kowtow them, otherwise they really dont care hence y they kinda just live in their own little groups rather than aggresively pushing political agenda on ur face.

Canadian Christians do not want to be Dhimmis (highly taxed non-Muslims). And I dont want to pay taxes so that someone can stay home on welfare because their dress code makes it impossible for them to work. I have to work to earn money for my family too.

Something must be done with Canadian immigration, this show has proven the flaws, what about the land border where hundreds are just walking and claiming residency. If that continues Canada won’t be that safe place where people pay taxes and are proud of being called “ Canadians”.

These Chinese did whatever that were in disposal to fraudulently enter here and abuse the system while real Canadian immigrants stay here and build this country and pay half of their income in the form of HST and income tax to grow this country, Canada. They don`t even bother to pay tax or learn basic English and still Canada accepts them.

I watched the whole thing and I still don't understand why some Chinese want to be Canadian citizens if they don't want to live here? Like what's the point? Do they want to influence political systems with votes? Do they want a convenient vacation place? Is it for tax reasons? Do they want an escape route in case China goes south politically? Why pay a ton of money for a citizenship if you're not in that country at all?

Lies! When a citizen sponsors a refugee, govt or private sponsors-- health care free you said it. Canadian don't fall for these lies, yeah after 1 year they go underground and work under the table. What is provincial social assistance? Kids go to public school if they have an address. So see Canada, refugees get free education for their kids, and who pays those taxes, that's right Canada also, they get free medical. That video was pooh!
