Canada will have a problem... the poor quality will stay and the productive will leave.

What frustrates me is that a lot of these immigrants are prone to vote Liberal or NDP. The problem with Canada is the leadership that they helped elect. Not all, but stats show this. When Canada comes back as a great country, these people will come back and then the cycle will repeat itself. This is why there should be a new law saying that in order to vote, one generation has to had lived in Canada for at least 20 years. Or else they'll just bounce back and forth and simply use Canada for its benefits, while we're the ones always fixing and rebuilding the country. I feel very bad for the people about to retire and now don't have enough because of the poor choices this government have made during these 8 years.

With all my respect\nLet us face it, more than 50% of Canadians are living below the poverty line, I may say : Seniors, people with special needs, single mams, natives !!! why ?\n Is Canada a poor country !!!! Absolutely not !!!\n However, corruption and mismanagement is eating 60-70 % of Canada's revenues\n As an Example : Canadian oil is giving away to American companies almost for free in return of of a royalty fee 3-5% , so, American sell our crude for $100 per barrel but Canada gets only $5 from this $100 , same thing is happening in our mining industries : Gold , Copper, Uranium. \nBecause, Canada DOES not have enough refineries to produce its gas it needs therefore, it has to buy it from USA at a market price !!!\n Canadian electricity is more worse, Qc sells its electricity To USA at 3cents per KWH\nthen Ontario buys it from USA at market price 50-75 cent per KWH\nCanadians are ripped off : for every Dollar the government gives to a special needs or welfare candidate, the government spend $10-$20 to manage this ONE Dollar, things are more worse with natives : the government spend $20 to $30 to manage each Dollar a native candidate gets !!!!!\n Probably !!!!!! Now , You know the reasons behind Canadian 's poverty symptoms including homelessness !!!!!

The now new Canadian dream is to leave Canada but there's a tax for that now. ? it's beyond a joke. The cost here is unnecessary. I'll never afford to buy a home now. This country wants immigrants to fill jobs that are low paying and increasingly hard to fill with Canadians born here. \n\nAsk any immigrant who is a doctor, banker, architect, civil engineer and who had a high position and status in their home country which level they have been asked to start at - if at all given the opportunity- at the very bottom. \n\nThe skilled immigrant story is very different in the United States of America. Easy to certify and relicense, respect for experience already accumulated by the immigrant in home country.

These politicians talk incessantly about those poor refuges living on the streets. They never mention the 500,000 Canadians who are homeless. The government of Canada is ignoring the desperate Canadians who have nowhere to live and nothing to eat. I'm not against immigrants or people of any nation, but we have a serious homeless problem in Canada and it seems senseless to continue to fork out our Tax dollars to those who have contributed nothing and ignoring the needs of it's own citizens. This is a disgrace and completely unacceptable.

I don't blame anyone for leaving Canada; the issue is that corporations are bringing in more immigrants without building more homes, and the quality of life is deteriorating beyond repair.\n\nI wouldn't mind newcomers if the housing was stable and there were more jobs available, but that isn't the case. \n\nOur issues stem from large corporations sucking the blood of the poor and looking for cheap labor. Canada bends over backwards to welcome immigrants compared to many countries- what this report fails to mention is how many immigrants simply use Canada to get citizenship and then move back to their native countries with dual citizenship that gives them and their families medical care, and a free ride back here when their own unstable countries become dangerous, or those that use Canada as a temporary safe and generous harbour before moving on. Very handy. I believe our immigration system is broken - all our Canadian governments want are more and more warm bodies to feed an insatiable tax monster, without regard to the significant social and economic disruption poorly planned immigration causes. They all come to get Canadian citizenship and then they go back to the countries they supposedly ran away from, all those refugees that claim to have been tortured, persecuted etc after getting Canadian citizenship they go back to that same country, its a well know fact, now Canada dies not want to help those poor refugees, what they want is to supply corporations with the labour force a cheap labour force as most Canadians do not want to work, let's call it for what it is

Between 1982 to 2017, an average of 0.9% of immigrant chose to leave Canada. That is for every 1000 immigrants, 90 will change their mind and leave Canada. In 2019, that figure jump to 1.18% from 0.9%. That is in 2019, 118, instead of 90, will chose to leave Canada for every 1000 immigrants. Again, 0.9% to 1.18% represents 31% increase, but lets put things in context and not make mountains out of mold hills.

Even if you have degrees from another country, Canada doesnt recognize a lot of them and you are required to take courses over again by Canadian standards. The cost of living, the healthcare, and the wages which are very poor. Who can afford 2000. for rent when your wage in 20.per hour or lower. Trudeau is so out of touch, little rich boy that has no clue at all.

Canada should be considered as bypass country, get Citizenship and leave to USA. Canada is third world country in hide of First world country. Living there since 2013, moving out of here as soon as I get chance. No savings, high expenses, low salary standards, less opportunities, very few corporate culture & few big firms, highest depression in developed world, worst weather, poor government, less progress & development. People have differing opinions on what’s caused the decline in Canada but nearly all of it goes back to poor economic management by the federal government and soft on crime policies that’s keep violent offenders on the streets. As a person born in Canada in the 50s I have seen the change in Canada over the decade to now where this Liberal gov had torn the hell out of what once was a terrific place to work and live. I'm Canadian, and so very glad that I was born here. Canada has an excellent health care system, top notch education cirrulum; when I watch the American news I shudder - with the current political climate and gun violence I am so glad to be Canadian. You could not pay me enough to even consider moving to the US. I disagree with your statement that you could raise children in America, children should not have to wear a flack jacket or Kevlar when going to school - especially considering the poor education system in the US. Which is painfully evident in some of US Congress people and Republican politicians.

I spent five years in Houston before I returned to Canada. I cut my hand and although I had good medical coverage, it cost 8 grand out of pocket for basically 7 stitches. I had an MRI in Canada and it cost three dollars for parking at the hospital. The religiousity in the US is everywhere. They pretend to be all about gods love, but believe that gun ownership is somehow a good thing. They are unkind to the poor and don’t want to help non whites. They are trying to ensure a next generation of poor minimum wagers but not allowing abortions because their invisible friend doesn’t like it.During flooding, a gigantic church refused to let people in using insurance concerns as an excuse and people STILL attended the church instead of calling it out and changing venues. At this point, I won’t even visit the US. It’s a ghastly place.

Canada is not perfect by any means. Lots of room to improve things, and I absolutely love and appreciate Americans. Great folks. But, the fact that any person, rich or poor, no matter who it is, can go to the doctor as many times as they need to without getting a big bill. We do pay for little things. Like... sometimes you pay for crutches or special devices, but for the most part, you don't. It comes out of our taxes.\n\nPlus, couples get a year of maternity leave here. It can be split any way the couple likes. LIke... the mom or dad can have the whole year or they can split it up between them, part mom and part dad gets it. We have unemployment insurance we pay from our taxes, so if you get suddenly laid of from work, ,you get some money coming in for a while to tide you over until you find a new job. And the disabled can get disability coverage too.\n\nOf course, we do pay higher taxes for these things, but... I kinda like that everybody gets healthcare. NO, I'm not into Communism, but having social programs is great. And... um... we do have more education in Canada, and more avenues to get help with tuition.

I've been to 30 states in my many decades of travel. The US has become a scarier place over the past 20 years. The politics is very partisan, Evangelicals have expanded their influence resulting in less tolerance of others, gun violence is insane, the poor are very, very poor with no way out, the very, very rich don't want to share at all (contrary to Christian teachings), the US version of capitalism verges on slavery (certainly not what Adam Smith envisioned anyway), the race issues are becoming simply stupid, the MAGA supporters and the socialist far left and wokeness are simply beyond comprehension . . . overall, tolerance for differences is becoming lost. People on the left and the right are equally are to blame. \n\nOne of Canadians' favourite activities is to crap on America(ns). This is unfair. There are wonderful places in the US and wonderful people. Collectively though, I think the US is coming apart at the seams. Canada certainly has its warts and our politics and society is becoming polarized too. But overall I'd say, Canada is friendlier, less violent, not as bigoted, more open minded, fairer, much less hierarchical, and more educated with regard to what's happening in the world. I do like the entrepreneurial bent to the US but its version often comes at a huge cost to people.

if you are rich person, developing countries are better, since poor people are exploited and you cannot exploit poor in Canada for example you can have servants and drivers next to nothing, but they are also humans too,, IF not Canada is better since everyone have equal opportunity. but there are people who will also complain if they reach heaven too

Your healthcare system, your prison system, your pharma system is all for profit. Canada negotiated with pharmaceutical companies for lower prices and because of that Americans are coming to buy their drugs in Canada. We've actually had to restrict the purchases of medication if you don't have a Canadian address. AND poor people in Canada can still see a doctor or go to hospital without going bankrupt.

Reasons I would not move to the States:\n\n1.Education is better in Canada.\n2. Too many people on the sex registry and many around you but haven't been caught yet.\n3. Police are poorly trained\n4. The huge prices don't affect the many millionaires and billionaires of Toronto,in all Canada and in the U.S.\nThey can buy anything they want,but then they don't help much the middle and poor classes that need to be helped. It is not a good idea to turn those social economic classes into the poorest ones in their regions and in their countries. Why can't there be higher taxes on the super rich so they can help those struggling? The canadian and american gov might help more but the super rich should help out too. Toronto is a beautiful city but if you don't make a lot of money you can either live in studio apartments and hardly buy food to eat or end up homeless. Toronto is much more expensive than most american cities, it might be as expensive as New York City or a bit more. Canada is a truly gorgeous country but it is too expensive. The US is getting so expensive even in Texas,you feel like moving to another country too,in my case my country Panama. Makes you think when will the inflation stop and be controlled in Canada and in the US. We don't want all poor and middle class people to have no money and be left with nothing and end up homeless. I am from Punjab and I moved to Canada in 2020. I really appreciate that Nitin has tried putting forward all the major factors that are pushing today's youth to migrate to Foreign countries. Punjabis have not just migrated to Canada, Australia and England, there are so many people who have been going to Arab countries for their livelihood. The major push factors at this time I would say are unemployment, drugs and poor politics. Most of the people simply wants a good peaceful life for themselves being a part of India.

Sorry lady! U need more knowledge about living in Canada. Their school standard is quite poor. In India school standard is higher.

the biggest challenge with most people is comfort, threiving abroad requires more than just one job. If you have gone to hustle please forget about comfort. 2ndly if you are going to canada make sure you have someone who is gonna shelter you for a few months as you stablize, or help you figure out your next step and also have a few bucks on you, otherwise you will die on the streets. And then once you find a job, please subsidize the costs, you can share an apartment with someone, cook your own food.\nlastly people should know that much as canada is a rich country, it also has poor people living there.....inclusive of beggers. You are supposed to move to the worst provinces with no services so you can build these empty places in Canada. Lynn, this Canada thing is a common sense thing. Same reason a Tanzanian will not come to kenya to sell tomatoes on the streets due to high competition on the field. Any country you move to it depends on what you will go to do and who will help you get on your feet. Canada is extremely beautiful and one can prosper extremely well financially compared to kenya BY FAR! But you can’t come from the village and land in Toronto and wait for a job and opportunity to come get you from the airport! Am very honest. I live abroad, in one of the richest countries in the world and believe me, I have seen even their own citizens suffering economically. Why? What are their skills and plans and expectations? I read somewhere, with all the wealth in the world, if all was to be shared equally to every one the universe, the rich will become rich and the poor poor -again. So a kenyan should first plan who they will live with for atleast a year while they get on their feet, put their hustle mood on n be willing to take any jobs, plus get out of the mentality that one must be in a big city! Other places outside cities really have low costs of life and offer more opportunities. Just saying

Well....I think many new Canadians already had this figured out and have now chosen Calgary despite the housing issue here as well. Our country really is poorly run. Government officials were sufficiently dense that they failed to vet a Nazi war criminal in advance of bestowing honor to him in the House of Commons. The immigration policy failed to account for available housing stock. Indifference and malaise is offered toward the drug addicted. Canada used to be a country where we cared. Now those who don't have the capacity to care for themselves are left to pick bottles, beg, and squat.
