Hey I’m Canadian and I feel bad new comers coming here looking to realize a better life when the reality of that matter the things they can access and freedoms they can have will be limited. There’s a serious medical access and to find a family doctor or wait 12 hours at the hospital. Also when people are professionals like engineers or doctors they have to start from scratch that’s amazing how many doctors or other high level professionals I met as a waiter, taxi driver, working min wage in a store…Oh boy the insane proportions of the housing is ridiculous to say the least. There’s people with 9-5 making 50k at the food banks, now low income people make less wayyy less. So I think they are even turning away international students. It’s quite unfortunate and not realistic. I live in Montreal. You know to know french here Quebec french. Well the increase in crime is because people are getting desperate and are in poverty and desperate. What n unfortunate situation.

It's the same thing in Ottawa. I moved here in 2019 from Montreal and the culture shock was immediate. I've already made up my mind to leave the country because it's absolutely finished. If all goes to plan, I'll be out of here by 2026. Canada will become an Indian majority country in less than 20 years and Canadians are asleep at the switch. They don't seem to understand or care what happens when you dump a million or more immigrants per year into a country of just 40M and while Indians aren't bad people per se, even they will tell you that the new stock of Indians coming into the country isn't the same as the old. They're far more tribal than they ever used to be. Trudeau opened the floodgates, but I don't think Poilievre will be able to close them. I live in his riding and there are a loooot of indians here. There's no way he'll want to risk stirring up the hornet's nest. The Canada we knew is on death's doorstep.

I'm all for immigration to help a country grow however, what Canada has done is first, bring in too many at once and not INTEGRATED the new comers. \n\nFact is, if you want to go to a country because of their freedom and job opportunity then don't come and try to change the country into what you just fled from!!\n\nAnd this is what has happened. Canada has allowed our laws and even speech change to cater to a foreign culture and political idea. Canada became great for what it was and ways it was not for socialism and other country politics. Our own country, a country that designates french or English has signs and communities designated in foreign languages. This is not acceptable and is a cause creating divide. You come, you learn the language and INTEGRATE! We loved our country, you wanted to come for what our country has so don't try to turn it into the country you fled! And stop alienating the people who were here before you. \n\nSo, these are the two BIG ISSUES Canadians complain about. Rightfully so. \n\nI myself don't live in Ontario but find Alberta has become a foreign country and I feel like I am in danger now in my own lands. Integration is so important, and Trudeau bringing in millions in a short time line did not integrate but now caused a great deal of violence and many new comers confused and hateful to Canadians when they simply don't understand that what they have done is not integrate but are overtaking and we feel at war with them.

Well if it’s true about the new quantum financial system. If we are going to get back all the taxes that were stolen from us because of the capture of us through our birth certificates in the corporation of Canada moving us from the law of the land to admiralty law of the water that means they have to go back to their own country in order to get the money that will be given to them! That one lady said it best if we immigrate to a foreign country we would have to adapt to their culture. People should do it here. I have no issues with immigration or immigrants. Have your church’s or mosques and practice your beliefs but don’t expect your new host country to bend to your wishes or beliefs, the former Australian Prime Minister said it best “you chose to come here we didn’t ask you come. the country is predominantly Christian if you don’t like it, go back to where you came from or find somewhere else to to live.”

This is pretty hard to describe as multiculturalism. I have no issue with Indian Canadians whatsoever. A lot of really good hard working poeple come here from there, and I respect their culture. My concern is how we maintain Canadian amid this type of immigration 15:21 seems like there is no real attempt to integrate new Canadians to our system and beliefs. We don't want to end up like Europe where foreign cultures have imposed themselves on the population. We shouldn't have to adapt or adjust to other cultures they came here to share and improve our way of life. Canada has a dignified history worthy of preservation despite our mistakes in the past. Our grandparents didn't lay their lives down for to capitulate in becoming a post national state.\nOur leaders are bringing shame to the sacrifice of previous generations.

Cultures congregate when coming to a new country. Re Brampton the affluent from India send their kids with much money backing them. Sadly, this offshore income is due to little or no taxation. I'm a 28 year old Canadian, I don't want this to come off sounding like a pity party, so I'll keep it brief for all and any of those thinking of moving here. I live with my parents because I could never afford the rent (and I don't even live in a major city like Toronto); my buddies moved in together and paid 1600 a month for a SMALL 2-bedroom apartment and they STRUGGLED to find an apartment. everyone I talk to is struggling and scared about their mortgage payments. My parents built a new home just a few years ago and got screwed over at every turn and on every level, their only saving grace was that their lumber package was locked in so they didn't have to worry about the lumber inflation. the job market is straight up trash and we're taxed through the teeth for every little thing. On the news we see stories about immigrants having to go back to their country because they can't afford to live here or find affordable housing. don't move here, it's shit.

I've been homeless before too. Absolutely sickening how foreigners get special treatment in housing simply because it looks better globally. THEY CHOSE TO COME HERE! They should have done their research before coming. In a world where information is so easy to come by, its beyond irresponsible to move to a new country without doing research first. OUR PEOPLE are dying, and by coming here to leech off our homeless supports, you aren't helping yourself, or any of the millions who were here before you. As a former homeless person, in my opinion every single one of my friends who died because they couldn't get housing, the blood is on these peoples hands for exploiting our country

Trudeau is a sneaky guy. Immigration is not the problem. There’s a lot of immigrants coming into this country but later to find out that there immigration status is rejected and they get sent back home to where they came from originally. So now the new loop hole is they come in this country not as an immigrant but as a refugee so they can get their Canadian citizenship a lot easier. Can’t kick out a refugee, that would be inhumane.

He's cut back foreign students and foreign temp workers. But will new housing come to fruition in time to house the current year's newcomers? If any housing delays or shortages, bringing in to Canada another new group of 500K immigrants plus students/temp workers will further strain the temporary housing, infrastructure. The problem will accumulate. So if we thought it was bad after year #1, it could get worse. The two (available finished housing, newcomers) must be in balance. Housing costs will NOT stabilize UNTIL the necessary new supply comes into being.

I'm so happy that within five short years, my once quiet middle-class-family neighbourhood has turned into high-density, international student rooming homes with a million cars, and 24/7 comings and goings. And no one is friendly. The new Canada thanks to Trudeau, coming soon to your street too.

To add to my last comment, for those opposes to immigrants purely for bigotry reason! Without those new blood, your country economy will go down the toilet even further! Of course you pefer higher quality immigrants come here, but are they willing to? North America is not what it used to be as in American dream advertised, only destitute pople will flock here as the rest of the world catch up economically! Really is a rock and a hard place!?

There is a habit or a custom or an unspoken and unarticulated practice in Canada to leave everyone alone. I think that the underlying idea is to show respect to others by giving others space. I think that it might be perceived by newcomers who come from other cultures as being rejected or not liked. Most Canadians keep to themselves and mind their own business and this means that it is difficult to make friends. It is not just newcomers to Canada that have a hard time making Canadian friends. Canadians who were born in Canada also have a hard time meeting new people and making new friends.

The immigrants who come to Canada are not here to start a new life. They want to continue living in their own country but in better conditions.

I m an immigrant who came here over 30 years ago. And I say stop immigration. We have been waiting for family doctor for 9 years now. When we came in we did not get any free housing or government money. We worked 2 jobs now we have to work 2 jobs to pay taxes and support new immigrants who can free housing. Come on now. My kids could not got to Toronto university because they could not pay for the housing there but yet you give money to immigrants to live in Toronto.

Why ask immigrants to come here and then blame them for stealing jobs? We never were 10 people staying in a basement back home and had better living conditions. I love how the security guards were all brand new immigrants too ? In brampton there was a line up at a restaurant 1000 people long for ONE job posting. \n\nIts impossible to live here. And the government thinks its OK because aggregate market prives for apartments are 'acceptable'at 2300/month for a single bedroom. The problem is that 60% or mortgage come due this year, we have 2 million immigrants who are underhoused, and all these people are looking for multi bedroom units which have tripled in price since 2019\n\nEdit: before anyone takes this the wrong way, this is not the fault of the people coming here for a better life, it's a federal/provincial government problem for scamming 100s or thousands of people out of a life here.

Until 2020 (pandemic), most lifelong Canadians would have proudly & quickly said Canada is a great place. For multiple generations (young & old). It still is in many ways. But like all countries, a bunch of things have made life more difficult lately. \n \nDuring the COVID lockdowns, many people went wild wanting to buy a house (urban & rural). Increasing demand and rising prices. Not long after, inflation caused mortgage rates especially to rise. Rent costs soared too. People interested in working in hospitals declined. Less doctors etc.. \n \nSimultaneously in Canada, the number of people coming by air, land and boat to claim asylum skyrocketed. For example, in 2023 alone, in just one region (Central Canada) around 400 people arrived per day (on average). Ditto for other populated provinces. Also the number of international students SKYROCKETED too. In 2023, averaging around 2,000 per day across Canada. Years 2021 and 2022 had high #s too. \n \nThe majority trying to migrate to Canada recently have been from South Asia. And it's become extremely obvious to Canadians. Even those that are very used to much diversity & many cultures. Plus neighborhoods now know that international students are using schooling as a 'back door' ticket to come to Canada for permanent residency. No one says it in public amongst strangers, but everyone knows because they've witnessed the extreme PR frenzy firsthand by now. To many Canadians it has felt like a tidal wave that has reached all cities and small towns, with a post secondary school. This extreme situation never existed prior to 4 years ago.\n \nHospitals have been hit with many wanting free healthcare. Less doctors/nurses etc., means greater waiting times. Plus a VERY SEVERE HOUSING CRISIS has occurred in many western countries including in Canada. In ways not seen in people's lifetimes. And if you do find a place to live its quite expensive. Including small basement rooms. \n \nNow westerners want the money greedy agents (pseudo smugglers) in other countries to stop marketing & LYING to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … being easy (to get). And for any greedy people living in western countries to be ashamed of themselves if they're hurting students. Anyone doing things to make $ off of people's PR desires. At best, there is a 25% chance of gaining PR (better odds if you are masters/medicine etc.). \n \nNot all players across the board have acted honestly over the years, i.e. contract marriages (IELTS spouse), anchor babies, fraud, false asylum claims. Canada has asked the India government to prevent “ghost consulting”. The new PRIVATE (non-public) colleges are being investigated (including looking for strong oversea ties). \n \nCanadians are meeting students who told Canada they have enough $, but it turns out they borrowed it (some borrowed it for the application process only). Canadian food banks and other CHARITY services have been recklessly advertised on YouTube (by India students in Indian language). Many transit services have launched stricter rules, i.e. lost monthly bus passes registered in your name are now never replaced (unlike before). \n \nThen this year throw in all the Palestinian vs Israeli angry protests happening regularly in cities. Plus the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortion mostly happening in Ontario and British Columbia. Plus the Canadian government also recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections. All stemming from Asia continent. Hate crimes have gone from rare to occasional (primarily South Asians against South Asians). \n \nCanadians are so so so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now VERY worried and fearful (due to all of the above). And all are praying it doesn't turn into great anger (like in the USA). \n \nCanadians want multi-culturism to succeed … and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with Canada Immigration's recent changes (reductions & investigations). Including multi-generational long-term Asian-Canadians where many have been the most upset (by all of this).

I have found that a majority of people coming to Toronto looking for drugs, streetlife, and complain, are from New Brunswick; a very large number of white ppl in ONPH, TCHC, are also from New Brunswick; the new growth in immigrants in encampment are not being supported by their own communities, like the recent women who died in a Mississauga, was not a drug addict, and 3 pregnant women sleeping in front of the immigration office on Peter St, received no assistance from the women who run soup kitchens or shelter system or churches until the public discovered that many of them were put on buses at Pearson, or from border crossings and delivered straight to that site on Peter Street; have you ever heard of a group of refugees coming to Toronto and not being supported by their own? No, because, what this really is, is a disgusting ploy by the NDP, Olivia Chow, Gord Perks, Andrea Horwath, Jagmeet Singh and many other groups, nonprofits and TCHC, ONPH, TDSB, TTC, who used the whole situation to force more funding and shelters and housing where their union members work; people really have no idea how bad these ghettos of TCHC/ONPH/NDP are; just look up Sunshine List and count the number of public and nonprofit agencies are on it; Kwame Addo, Susan Opler, John Kraljevic, Barry Thomas. Nothing new, Canada was always like that people come and people go

As a new citizen of Canada who came here as a refugee, I feel for Canadians who have been here for generations. No other country would tolerate this. I have nothing against people who come here to make it from less opportunistic places, as I was one of those people, but if you're gonna come to another country, respect its cultures and norms - don't act like you're still back home.

This is on the local government and the provincial government as they new it was coming and have done nothing to help. I'm in NB and Higgs our premier has done nothing for the people in years and has a surplus of over a billion year after year. Our provinces have not keep up on our health care or housing or mental health care as the Conservatives want to privatize all of it. Higgs will not get back in and I will never vote Conservatives again.

Immigrants used to come into this country with hard works and immigrant mentality, while Canada still had big corporates to offer good opportunities. However, new immigrants these days are not as qualified, self-entitled, and no opportunity offered at all. I mean, what kind of visa students would go on protest for failing their exams?

Why you are always attacking the international students? We pay rent, taxes, CPP, tuition. We are the best students and most brilliant people of our own countries. We didnt come here for food, most of us come from wonderful countries with better weather beaches etc. We are here to contribute to this country as a new adventure while our intention remains returning home one day. Rest assured that many other countries offer better living conditions such as cheap university kitchen where you can eat and not worry about the meals, dorms just a few meters from classes etc. I tried one week applying in indeed and I got 6-7 job offers so there are plenty of jobs around. Look at the photos you are posting, most are from africans who came to canada illegally from mexico-us route or ocean-Quebec ships. Why dont you count millions of Ukrainian who are here taking your taxes and most of them doing nothing not even knowing English! They should bring skilled Inmigrants with a career path to ensure they not ended up taking advantage of EI and welfare as many do . Fed up of lazy people coming to Canada to abuse the system . As an immigrant myself who came 12 years ago I had to work 2 jobs and study at night French to be able to adapt. When I came I already had a university degree and then did my masters degree here in Canada . At the end it pay off I had a good job now. The main requirement for people coming to Canada should be an university degree at least as in the past . That shows you are able to learn and adapt to new things plus you have knowledge about a specific field .

I'm all for bringing in the 'skills & talent' with new immigrants. But these new Canadians must fit the criteria that Canada needs and they must come in through the legal system, be properly vetted and willing to abide by the laws of the land. Instead, what Trudeau is bringing in through open borders are freeloaders, people who take advantage of the welfare system and refuse to work. And many of them have long criminal histories. Some even insist on bringing their quarrels with them along with the hatred they harbour for other groups of people. Then they proceed to protest in the streets about what is going on in the countries they left and worse, they harass others on college campuses and elsewhere because they don't like their race, culture or ethnicity. We see it everywhere. And if we Canadians complain about it, we're called every name in the book. Not fair to Canadians. Not fair to those who are waiting in line to come in legally.
