Canadian here too. Thank most of you americans for this outpouring of support, and seems many from both sides of the aisle. \n\nFor my part? I do believe you have a russian asset as president now. Even the freaking Russians just came out and said US policy is now aligning with Russias own. Hes abandoning an ally in Ukraine unless Ukraine gives an unconditional surrender to a guy who says he is not interested in any deals, and broke his OWN TRADE AGREEMENT stopping just short of actual war with Canada and Mexico. Trudeau said it - it’s all because of one guy. Throw Trump and all of his toadies out and let’s get back to business together. He is dismantling your country and these tariffs are simply one mechanism that he’s using to ruin the US. The US is no longer in the position of world leadership and respect and it took Trump less than two months to do that. Your government is failing you and hurting you. Throw them out now.

This video is horrible. I don't know what political angle is, but the real problems are very well known and have nothing to do with what you said. First, housing is incredibly difficult to build in Canada because of regulations and land title problems, I.e., you don't own that land, the indians do. On top of that, there is a constant influx of immigrant that require housing that doesn't exist. Children cry because they cannot leave their parents' houses because they can't move anywhere, so they can't find any jobs locally, and they're trapped. There is no will in the canadian government to change these immigration policies, to change the land rules so that people can own land and build houses, or do anything about their incredibly micro managed economy that makes it impossible to do anything. If so, yeah, they go to the US to have a future while Canada stagnants and dies.

I used to work the patch and quit. \n\nIts not worth it to be away getting ground to powder and still not afford anything or being able to justify said prices.\n\nSo many people I know have left and you cant force them back at the point of a gun.

You said there's no reason that people would pick Canada over the US but given the current political and sociological climate in the United States that's not true anymore.\n\nPeople want access to healthcare, paid parental leave, a social fabric that isn't toxic, access to women's healthcare, lack of gun violence, consumer protections etc.\n\nJust like many Europeans won't leave Europe for the US, many Canadians won't either, especially now.
