With all do respect Ms. Mexican President, are your Corporations paying American taxes on your profits made here. I am not trying to be rude, but so many foreign investors and Corporations, are taking advantage of the American worker and taxpayer.

So many Americans in cheering against their own country. It’s sad but I guess when had times fall upon you all, you’ll understand.

That remain in Mexico will not last forever, Mexico knows that its a farce, the U.S dont care about those people. and by the way, there's thousands of migrants working and living in Mexico, remaining in Mexico, very few if any will be allowed in anyway, the border is all screw up and there is to much anti-migration racism and lies about migrant's, and few Mexicans are crossing the border illegally, not even migrating, in Mexico's case, migration is in reverse and American are invading Mexico to live a better economic life, many especially in Mexican border cities live in Mexico illegally, best hope they dont start massive deportation's (becouse the U.S. only thinks they have homeless now) Thank God for Mexico

Lower prices?! Of course that would be nice. Economically speaking, that means that a vast number of people want deflation. It could work in an economy not dependent on excess and consumerism, but the US economy is propped up on speculation and buying out of want rather than need. Deflation is considered an economic failure in this country. We target 2% inflation for fear that without it, people will buy less now and then there will be a downward correction on output and then jobs. \nIn any case, broad tariffs won’t be the answer to lower prices. A global economy is an efficient one, but often unfair or unkind in specific localities. The US has benefited from globalization and low cost labor elsewhere for decades. But the pendulum swung too far and now many Americans are feeling left behind. Tariffs could bring back jobs but on a 5 to 10 year timeline, not one 4-year presidential term, much less in a year.

Trump, despite his self acclaimed reputation as an “economic genius”, would likely never raise taxes on the ultra-wealthy and ensure corporations pay their fair share, as many currently pay nothing. Balancing the budget would also require curbing excessive military spendings, and if necessary, asking Americans to contribute slightly more, all to address our $36 trillion debt. It’s time to move beyond “art of the deal” Donald and focus on the real solution - CUT THE FRINGES AT THE BOTH END tough guy!

Trump knows the trade war will hurt America. Trump's plans are simple: forcing us companies to build products in America, and Trump's tax cuts will help the businesses so they can start building factories and warehouses in America. That's one reason why many Americans voted for Trump.

It seems to me better than punitive percentage tariffs is that each foreign country can buy American products first from tracked like product categories. The United States Counts how many units of that type of United States made product was bought first by a foreign  country. Then United States consumers, or companies are allowed to buy the same matching unit count of foreign products from like categories.  In this way no foreign company selling into the United States can fluid the United States Market with cheap foreign government subsidized goods. In this tracked unit count system of fair trade one American made unit sale for one foreign made like unit sale can take place.

The US is very narcissistic. Dear fellow American: our population accounts for 4% of the global population. We are one of the only ‘developed’ countries that does not have universal health insurance, nor affordable/free college. We were sold so many lies and ate them up. I’m ready to leave. \n\nRepubs offshored the jobs during the Reagan admin. Unions were busted up during Reagan. NAFTA was made under Reagan. Is this getting through to you all? Repubs, NOT Dems, created the offshoring of jobs 40 years ago so that corporations could line their pockets!

I apologize to all the Canadians ??!!! Canada has always been a strong ally of the U.S. and a great friend!! Many Americans and Canadians have family together, dual citizenship, and travel and live back and forth in both countries. I am so sorry Trump is being awful to you.\n\nDecreasing the flow of illegal drugs and reducing fentanyl deaths in both countries would benefit Canada and the U.S. Both countries are close partners and I’m sure are already working to address this. I’m sure all Trump had to do was ask nicely and Canada would have handedly agreed to work with the U.S. amid redoubled efforts.

Which will lead to every American being put in the Poor House during his time in Office. People will have to remember his comments demeaning every American as losers as he Raises Taxes and Product Inflation go through the roof, while the wealthiest live TaX Free again within his Second Administration! “Sometimes in Life, you can’t see the Forest for the Trees.” It’s harder to see the TRUTH, by the amount of the LIES!???

To everyone that voted for him, expect your grocery bills to rise even more now, the Us imports a lot of food from Mexico, and on top of that he says he will deport millions of immigrants, many of them work in our fields, so we will be paying much more for our food, buckle up Americans, idiots elected and idiot for leader.

Many of these Mexican suppliers are USA companies. The tariffs will be paid by Americans, to the American government on goods sold in America. It’s a tax increase, usually on lower income earners- as we know wealthy people won’t notice

There are about 2 million estimated Americans living in Mexico currently. They may be forced out too in response. President Sheinbaum just met with China's president last week as well. not to mention China's in-roads and developing relations with so many central and south American countries. Not to mention Brazil is the B in BRICS which is now roughly 1/2 the world's population and produce more GDP than the G7 for the first time ever. God help us is Saudi joins them. That is where most of oil prices are determined also since our refineries are not setup to refine domestically produced oil (it is the wrong type) and it would take decades and billions to convert. Not to mention costly and owned by multi-national corporations. And forcing them do so amounts to semi state-control and is a communist ideal. They are capitalist institutions and are only beholden to shareholders. And those shareholders are not voting to take a loss.

I agree in that this most likely won't solve the issue put more stress on the population and business enterprise. Climate issues will make these plans even more problematic. We currently have issues with some of the effected industries domestically. We are having to many food recalls to create import price spikes even in building materials. It's already been reported that the drugs are coming into the country in American cars...sounds like a job for man's best friend...drug canine units. Putting more efforts in less drug cou consumption could help because unfortunately druggies will be druggies and find a way to get their supplies. We would be better off in controlling the drugs in this country than leaving it in the hands of criminals!

My husband and I are engineers from the US and Mexico and have lived in Germany for 15 years. Both speak fluent German and have raised three kids here. Yes, many people are racist. But if you learn the language well it’s not that hard to integrate and then things get much better. Germans can be the best friends you’ve ever had, much better than superficial Americans, but it can be hard to break through the shell. We have always loved it here. But to be honest with the steadily declining economy, massive scarcity in housing, and no salary increases in years, we are considering leaving as well. The outlook isn’t good for the Automotive industry and we could make double or triple the salary elsewhere. It would be very difficult to pull up our roots now gs better get better quick or we won’t stay much longer.

Canada like many countries who came out fairly unscathed from COVID are facing the same dilemma, they didn't get the massive economical bounce back and the momentum that went with it like many countries who were devastated by COVID. If you look at the data between Canadian household income compared to the US, excluding the top ten percent since the US has much more income inequality than Canada, you will see that most Canadian are doing much better than their American neighbours. And on top of that, we have safer streets, healthcare, longer lifespan and better public education system. What we are missing is more leadership structuring our economy rather than completely being depended on the free market. They are managing the economy rather than facilitating more growth, none of the Canadian political parties seems to truly be engaged with that. We are not the US, we do not have the population to grow a service economy like they do, which has a compounding effect on their economy. We need a more focused approach to managing our resources, including human resource, which requires some planning on the economic side.

So sad. This woman is suffering from a type of Stockholm Syndrome. She's under the illusion that those white Christian nationalists think of her as a real American. There seems to be so many people who immigrated legally and illegally to the United States who have accepted the denigration and internalized it to a point of self-loathing. They have split from the reality of their roots and feel superior to other immigrants and entitled. So sad that chronic xenophobia has destroyed their empathy. They're in for a very rude awakening when they find out that a large percentage of white America hates them as much as they hate current immigrants.

I agree with all you said. I left Canada in 2018 after struggling there for 20 years. I am fortunate to also have American citizenship. Unsure why I held out in Canada as long as I did. So much easier to live in the USA. One thing you missed were the lockdowns. It caused massive disruption to people’s lives and many friendships and families were destroyed. My mother left in 2022 for exactly those reasons. Many others that she’s met now in her current country of residence left for the same reasons. Trudeau. What can I say…??

Gross! Since Donald Trump has become the president elect, I have seen so many Hispanic Americans that were once themselves “illegal immigrants” make the statement that they would have no issues with family members and friends who are currently illegal, be deported?! The hypocrisy and complete disregard for others that are literally in the same position that they once were, is almost unimaginable! I was born and raised in this country, as were my parents, their parents, and their parents parents however, I have compassion for those people that have been discarded by their own families and friends for reasons I don’t fully comprehend ??‍♀️

As an American, I can tell you the primary factor for many has been the cost of caring for the illegal aliens. I just see many illegal immigrants wanting to live in the US but not be part of it like learning the language and american customs. That makes me feel that my sympathy is being taken advantage of.

But if your asylum claim has been rejected or if you've overstayed your visa (which accounts for many), then deportation is fair. But we need a grand compromise. A path to citizenship for Dreamers and people who are under special arrangements (again, like the Haitians), deportations for most others, with a new visa regime for people who have been working in parts of the economy that - to be blunt - Americans won't.\n\nAlso, most of the people here without proper documents are Mexican. And most came through Mexico. AMLO let that happen. Sheinbaum is going to need to address that. Many Mexicans are also greatly unhappy with what's been going on for the last few years.

Many, many Americans make a distinction between legal immigration and illegal immigration. The center and right are supportive of LEGAL immigration, as it is part of the unique fabric of our country - but are against ILLEGAL immigration. The American left tends to purposefully muddy the waters on this issue, so they can make anyone opposing illegal immigration look like they oppose ALL immigration.\n\nThis is also a distinction that is often muddied or glossed over by Europeans when they try to understand American politics. In Europe, being opposed to immigration, generally means you’re opposed to all of it, legal or illegal. So many Europeans incorrectly view the America center-right as being anti-immigrant. That’s not the situation, at all, in the US.

To all those supporting the cracking down on these ‘illegals’ there’s something I need to know. Tell me, if they folks had an option to immigrate legally, would they? Do you think it’s some kind of malicious effort to come here against the law, or are they coming here out of desperation? Many of these people come from places like Haiti, Colombia, or Guatemala. Places that the CIA and American tax dollars destroyed. Illegal immigration wouldn’t be a problem if we didn’t make the situations of many of our southern neighbors unlivable.\n\nI’m a Floridian white dude who was comparatively born with the silver spoon in my mouth, I understand America is at a point economically where the last thing we need is to be spending money on non citizens, sending billions in foreign aid abroad or on undocumented immigrants. Canadians should not be surprised if Americans under President Trump decide to force Canadians to get visas for future travels. \n\nCanadian generous refugee policy has allowed millions of criminals/terrorists into the country and most of them once they obtain the Canadian passport aim to move to US and Americans are aware of this scam. The reason the SDP(Socialist Democrat Party) is freaking out is because of the census. Illegal immigrants are counted in the census and if they are removed, a state could lose a congressional seat. During the second term of Obama, so many people left California that they lost a seat in Congress, down from 53 House districts to 52. So these illegal immigrants are replacing the Americans citizens that have left those Democrat run states.

Ohhh if it was her own child I’m sure she wouldn’t be saying that’s ok.., there are many like her out there. They get those papers and they think they work for the White House. If she would’ve visited Mexico and had a kid while visiting and didn’t have the money for a green card it would have been a completely different situation. For those just because you got your papers do you not think that there are people that came here as infants or kids to immigrant parents that came to work to provide for their kids it’s not that easy to get your green card it cost thousands of dollars. Many immigrants that I know and worked with including myself, I came here as a refugee. Immigrants are the hardest working people I know. Unfortunately a lot of the ones that came here as kids grew up in some neighborhoods that are not so great and mainly are kids that were born here that are in gangs or doing drugs or violent so don’t blame immigrants saying they bring all this with them it was already here … drugs gangs violence was already here. Gangs started in the White House with their red and blues. Then they say they are taking all the jobs.. the jobs have always been here but people that are citizens are too lazy to go get jobs or keep jobs ( not all citizens) but the ones that are complaining immigrants usually come from villages without any media or drugs or gangs ect. They simply come here for better opportunities or for jobs. They come to work not to freakin take your jobs… this country everyone is a damn immigrant this country was taken from the natives taken with violence by killing them , rapi!’ Them. See, that's the problem with this immigration saga. While i believe that things should be done in good order, many of whom are pressuring migrants are themselves run-aways from harsh conditions of other countries. Including white people. The Natives are the only true Americans.

This will cost American economy in so many ways. This mass Deportation will cost upwards of hundred of Billions of dollars and it will take 10 of billions of dollars out of the economy with no plans from Trump to replace that lost revenue. Yet again Trump short sideness will cost America

Are we talking about a mass deportation of people who came into this country illegally? The funding and the resources are the problems. Trump is not going to be able to deport as many as he proposes. If some of them have been here and started an American-born family, then they should get special consideration, but if it's decided they get deported it's really not the fault of the government, it solely rests on the shoulders of those who come in our country and break our laws. If the idea is to become an American Citizen breaking the law is not the first thing to do to swear allegiance. It's confusing. My hope is that we get this issue behind us with fairness and compassion, without sending the message that you can just come here without due process.

Many Muslim-American Trump voters are going have buyers remorse over the naming of Mike Huckabee a millennial Christian has just made a statement that he will not refer to the West Bank and Golan as anything other than Judea and Samaria not as occupied territory but as historical Israel. This applies to Gaza as well. The Israelis in the West Bank are residentsnot illegal squatters. Wonder what the residents of Dearborn are going to think of that development?

How sad is this? The cruelty is beyond belief and she isn’t even ashamed of herself. And to pretend that these people could just apply legally is ludicrous. When this lady came immigrants were still being welcomed. All you had to do was apply and wait. It’s not so easy now. Trump has spread so many lies and so much hatred that immigrants are hated. Regulations are draconian and will just get worse. Trump has said he will split up families and jail or execute immigrants if they try to get back to their families. That Americans accept this cruelty, has completely destroyed my respect for them. I used to think Americans had some bad people but the majority were good.even with the evidence that they refuse healthcare for all and decent gun control to protect children. I thought they just hadn’t realized how effective these policies are. But now it’s blatantly obvious that they don’t care about poor people or disabled or sick people. They don’t care about the elderly or the health and safety of pregnant women. They just want more for themselves and are too dumb to realize that the way to get more is to work together and help each other.

Many people came to the US illegally. They got themselves sorted and now they hate immigrants. I'm an American they say. As they should. Though many can't even speak the queen's English properly like flotus-elect but their status is legal. Some of them will get the boot even with their legal status. The Latinos who voted for Trump are not being deported: They are citizens ? … they are from many diferente Latín American countries and they don’t support their own.

Is the goal to deport every undocumented person or to destroy our economy? Seems they will achieve both at the same time.
