Thank you for sharing! I had to leave Canada after a short stint due to personal reasons. I really enjoyed the work culture there and my salary was definitely way better than the one I used to make in Italy. Having an internationally recognised MSc, I felt valued for the first time ever and did not have any issues securing a job. However, the housing crisis was something I was not ready for. Never struggled so much to find a place to rent (and it was not even a big city). Grocery prices were also pretty scary. Canadian taxes were not a problem as Italy has a notoriously high taxation.

That's very interesting. I've lived in South Korea for the past 35 years and, in many ways, have enjoyed a privileged life here. After the COVID outbreak, II quit my job and traveled all around the world, including 1yr staying in Toronto. During that period, I experienced firsthand the inflation and social challenges Canada was facing. After much thought, I came to the same realization as you—I need to leave my home country. Ironically, I’m about to move to the very place you're leaving.???I admire your courage in embracing this new challenge and hope you find a place you'll truly love. I’d like to share a humble opinion I’ve thought during my travels and followed news from everywhere. The surging housing price, cost of living, homelessness, social unrest, and immigration concerns are global issues, particularly in so-called developed countries. I believe these aren't just problems unique to Canada but part of a wider systemic issue. Every society is attempting to tackle these problems in its own way. There's no perfect haven, so it’s crucial to consider whether a society's approach to solving these issues aligns with your own values. I visited Canada last week and I was surprised I saw more Indian people than anything I was trippen out if I was in the right place at first

When so many immigrants enter a country that its infrastructure can not handle the increased population, people start to be anti-immigration. People who are not the majority race and culture, are easy targets for people who are frightened by the rise of homelessness and crime, and loss of employment. In Canada, even in small rural towns, long established residents see that their children can not find work, or housing, while obvious immigrants are everywhere as waitresses, cashiers, and other unskilled jobs which their children used to do when starting out. On top of that, many Canadians can not find a family doctor, and our healthcare system is strained to the breaking point. People are frightened, and want the government to tighten immigration policies. I think that our government did not consider all the factors when it opened the door so wide for immigration. Now it has to take a step back, and ensure that the infrastructure is in place before immigrants arrive in Canada, not be forever trying to fix the problems after they have caused havoc!

I am not an 'immigrant', but I will be on the 1st boat out of canada along with my things for a country where I can actually afford a modest home for 1 person, and decent priced food would be great as well. But what would really seal the deal, is not having to trip over homeless and drug users all over the place. BRICs nations preferred, no 'zio-nato bloc #!@tholes for this would-be expat. I don’t understand what is the connection with white people going junkies and immigrants successfully settling there. In many places I've worked across Canada Blacks have it made! As someone who lived and came to Canada over a decade ago through LEGIT means and assimilated with the country and culture there, the problem isn’t the fact they are Indian- the problem comes from the blatant disregard for everything and everyone that isn’t one of them. Secondly, the food and hosting quality has gone to shit in restaurants or any food service place. Tim’s, dominos, you name it-it’s filled with Indians that will either be sloppy and not clean with the food prep or just give you the wrong shit consistently. Third,the disregard for rules and everything else. The crimes being committed by mainly Indians have skyrocketed, a while back there was an Indian gang in BC trying to extort other brown businesses and it was confirmed by the authorities. That as well as the fact Brampton stopped showing south Asian films due to drivebys caused by Indian folk and then the fireworks drama during Diwali was outrageous and dangerous to anyone that was passing by.

Extending permits to five years (as they've demanded) would DESTROY the Canadian economy and have a permanent effect on Canadian identity as well as no end to the housing crisis. Furthermore, many of these students who originate from India's two most poorest and crime ridden states: Punjab and Gujarat, will contribute to the growth of crime cartels, such as the thriving car theft ring targeting cars in the Toronto GTA and the Air Canada gold heist that took place at Toronto Pearson Airport in 2023 resulting in the largest theft in Canadian history ($22.5 million). Guess what country where all six suspect are from ? Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

The house next door to me is a small 1960 2 bedroom 1 bathroom . There is at least 20 punjabs living there. The place stinks garbage everywhere. Cars are coming and going. This is what happens when you dont have variety of foreign workers and you dont consider the culture. Ok sir I stopped the video when you said the rising cost of living is because the Russia/Ukraine has increased energy thereby impacting the cost of living here. I thought the whole concept of Canadian immigration is to seek new settlements in other provinces that are lacking population. I wonder if the government are doing that to put immigrants in those provinces and to build a strong Canadian society, with a strong-hold economically throughout the country. But that includes having the immigrants agreeing to setup bases in rural areas that needs a build-up. It's literally a settlers 2.0. But I see that as an escape from another place that has nothing. No is pressured to doing anything, it's just being transparent in what will happen. And in another way, the citizens of Canada will see it as giving into the country.

The only thing I would say cause you seem to be very young. Is that brampton actually in the 70's and to early 2000's used to be mostly a white and black community and then other cultures. I am born in Toronto I have a cousin born in Toronto who currently lives in brampton she owns a house in brampton for about 25 years. And is going through a lot mentally with the slamming. We got of people from India mostly in the last 2 years, but it's been going on slowly over 10 years and she's not doing well with the overwhelment of Indians and we're of black Jamaican heritage. My story is similar to yours Alina, moved to Canada at 15 y.o., lived there for 20 yrs and now moved away. It's been hard, Canada has been the place I'd call home and thinking that I may never come back to live there is a little heart wrenching. Looking forward to learning what place you picked for yourself. From my experience, it will not be easy whatever place you pick. The social connections, daily life, it will all take a long time to set up. One thing that helps is keeping in touch with the most important people in your life - whereever they may be.

Whilst agreeing with most of your comments, I would like to add few more observations that I feel should mention here. a) noise pollution by means of loud Bhangra music and rap songs. b) Urinating in bus stops c) spitting in public places.
