You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves. \n\nNight life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Some parts of Canada even look tropical! We have hot springs here as well!\n\nFor the leisure & work life balance, I feel like that depends on the person. I used to work 2 jobs (not because I was bored or needed the money at the time), I just wanted to save more money & help my friend out with his business. I felt like I had good balance of work & leisure. I hanged out with my friends on Friday & Saturdays then I had my 'me' days on Sundays.\n\nIf you are going to move here, do your research, also I don't think people consider their countries dollar into the equation, what I mean is, if you want to convert your money to Canadian... you might have less money then you have. Example, at this moment, 1 Mexican Peso is 0.066 Canadian dollars, therefor people coming from Mexico might have a hard time afford things in Canada compared to a person who is moving from USA. (1 USA Dollar = 1.31 Canadian Dollar).\n\n\nO btw, I love both you hair!!~

One of the top issues is being black. Seen as black and identified as black when you leave a predominantly Black Country. \nWhen I watch the various Realestate shows of white people buying property abroad as second home or just packing up and moving. I always say it must be nice! Because the reality is they can see them self almost everywhere unless they choose to go into a remote area then that’s the only exception but even then as long they learn the language and respect the culture they are good they are liked welcomed and even seen as fascinating. Not saying they don’t have to struggle but the colour of their skin is the least! \nAmerica is great if your trying to be self made, be your own business owner, and other random ventures you want to dabble in. But to just go there and be a regular teacher, doctor, lawyer, engineer to the low and middle class you’ll end up with the same financial issues and struggles as a result. You gotta now cater to the rich and famous wealthy people but then it’s back to never being home and not enough time for family. \nThe reality is if we could make the money we make here in North America and Uk back home in in the Caribbean and specific countries in Africa it would be a dream come true and that goes for other communist countries too. You truly have to know what makes you happy. Make money but enjoy life it might mean living below your means even though you can can afford a bit better life style. People do it all the time back home (not because they want to I know) but for some reason when you move abroad a one bedroom for your single self is to small, the car under $24k isn’t good enough, you don’t want your kids to share a room so you need a bigger house and the list goes on and on. \nCanada is boring if your not in a major city with money to spend you know why? Because people forget the population of the entire country of Canada is only a 3rd, 4th, 10th of the population of certain countries that immigrants came from and in the case of the US population it’s 100x more than Canada. So of course there’s more opportunities there. \nAnd finally imagine if more countries didn’t need visas to travel? They really would just come to make money and go back home or live bicoastal. Even just the freedom of travel half of the immigrants would of settled elsewhere before the year was up or go back home.

My wife, my 3 kids and I used to like Vancouver but not anymore!!! The weather is why we plan to leave for good but also the expensive rents! I also heard about horror stories at many hospitals (and yes, I have worked in Africa and to be honest, Africans hospitals are way more functional than the ones in Canada in terms of human aspect… there they care, Canadians do not give a shit about anyone!!! And I am saying this as a Belgian!!! I have some African colleagues at work here and at least 80 percent of them either want to go back to Africa (one is actually going to start an Afro business there and build his own house) or move to Europe (one of them plans to live to my homeland Belgium and two others in France as apparent the pensions there are way better than the Canadian one) as soon as they get enough experience in canada! None of us at work , including me, want to retire or get old here in Canada! For me personally, it is the Canadian extreme loneliness and lack of willingness to open to others that really shuts me down… I am fed up and and tired of paying taxes in a country where some (not all) hospitals and some retirement homes treat patients like … objects, not human beings! I now understand (as before I did not) why even some of my African colleagues are looking forward to go back to Africa or to some of them, immigrate to Europe! .. none of us want to be left alone and depressed in this so highly individualistic and unfriendly, falsely “cool” country called Canada… a country that claims America and France are racist countries when not even one CEO in Canada is coloured! I am also fed up of Canadians being cool!!!! Cool???? Yes, their humour is crap and they are all too serious… not astonishing why so many end up being depressed or on meds to be able to function! \nLast: I am fed up with 1. The stupid credit score system which makes North Americans anxious and frustrated!!!! Stupidity does not even exist in France or Belgium where I am from! 2.food is Canada is … not good…lol… really close to being bad! 3.the country is boring… reason… people are so disciplined and nothing happens!!! I just miss Europe even if we are far from being perfect and I prefer our imperfections to the Canadian perfect society which end up making people boring and annoying!!! 4. Canadians are shallow compared to us Europeans 5. Their transit system sucks if compared to Europe 6. Health care system is nothing comptable to what we got in Europe!!!! \nResult: I leave Canada years before retirement as The last thing I want for me is to remain in a country and get “sunk” Into Canadian depression, Canadian loneliness and Canadian “coolness”. \nOhh just as an indicator, it is really rare to see someone who is happy in Vancouver BC these days… the city just looks like a factory to make people work, make Canadian banks richer and pay taxes! Apart from that, I do not give a damn about the beautiful scenery and lakes as long as everyone around gets scammed with unjustified and ridiculous high cost of living!!!

Life in Canada is not easy nor happy life as you thought especially for those whom come with nothing it will be very hard and will be struggling to make the end needs . My friend, it depends on what you want out of your time in US. If you want outdoor life, there is plenty of it here, you just have to know what to do and where to go. If you have been indoors for 10 days and only gone out twice, then that tells a lot about your own self, not being an outdoor person. There are parks, lakes, amusements, beaches. There are facilities for hiking, walking, cycling, etc. I really think that you have not been exposed or you have not explored what is available here for outdoor fun. In the western world you can take your family out camping in the forest with the assurance that you will come back home safely. You can take your boat down to the lake for a day of fun with no problem. If you lived in most parts of Africa, and bought a boat, and started going to the river or lakes in the weekend, then the police commissioner, or military person who lives close to you will fabricate a reason to intimidate you and confiscate it. What I mean is in Africa, you run the risk of becoming a target once people see that you are an ordinary citizens who is doing well. Here, not like that.\n\nJust be happy that you are here and make the most of it. While you were in Africa, you dreamt about coming to America, now that you are here, all you want is to recreate Africa here. If Africa was good enough, no African will want to be here.

I live in London UK for the past 15 years and had the opportunity to move to Canada. I visited Toronto once and experienced enough to make the decision not to move. Climate was the top and lack of public transport compared to London was another big concern. Lack of fashion and laidback lifestyle was a concern too. I have lived in Toronto most of my life and have noticed a really drastic change in the last 3 years. Crime has gone way up so has homelessness and drug abuse. Rent and house prices are sky high making it impossible to survive for a lot of people. If your starting from nothing it’s a lot harder to make something of yourself without help . Our rights and freedoms are being taken away right in front of our eyes. I plan on working a few more years and hopefully making enough investments that I’ll be able to live somewhere cheaper and hot all year round.

Why do people not do their research before they leave their country? If someone is smart enough to be a doctor in their country of origin, you'd think they'd be smart enough to research what Canada's prerequisites are, and make sure they're taking those steps. Being a nurse in one country is equivalent to being a lab tech in Canada. So as a patient, I don't want a lab tech taking care of my loved ones in hospital.

Many leave their own country, and come to Canada BECAUSE of their dislikes; extremism, culture, religion, laws, identity and in some cases backwards thinking; attempt to turn what we in society would consider as sexist, and discriminatory in some examples….\n\n…however when those same individuals finally achieve citizenship, or in some cases this starts (attempt to change Canadian law(s)) before obtaining citizenship, making moves to force the above, everything they despised, hated or disliked about their own country, into this new country ? Can you imagine, if I were a guest in someone else’s home, being invited over for dinner, but they had rules…like taking off your shoes when entering their home…or demanded they change their menu that they worked hard making for me to eat..or that I do not put my feet up in the coffee table or furniture…but I said, screw that, I don’t agree with their rules..I’m just going to do what I want! What would be the outcome do you think if I were to disrespect their rules?\n\nWhen Canadians have the audacity to say NO, we’re not interested in adopting …the rules/laws of the country they just abandoned…we’re now somehow insulted, or angered the guest? …the same Canada that has welcomed, provided safety, roof over their heads, food on the table, an education for their children, and provided access to our medical (albeit far from perfect) infrastructure.\n\nTo stomp their feet, bang their fist on the table when discovered that it’s expected to take four years of your life to become a doctor (which btw if you’re smart enough to become a doctor, you should be smart enough to of researched the expectations, PRIOR to coming to Canada) in the Country that YOU have chosen to spend the rest of their lives in, to have to work in a job to help support you and your families transitions,…imho, is NOT an unreasonable ask….that 4-5 years of their next 40-50+ ? Well, if that is considered a hardship, then maybe they need to rethink their intent. I do love Canada , it was my first love moving from poor, war ravaged country in Vietnam. But it is no longer the country that I used to know. I've lived mostly in Vancouver and Toronto and I can tell you,If you got a family and you're not making 10-15k/month, feesl like you're just scraping by. Tdot was good when I moved there in 1984,TTC rides and cup of coffee used to be just a quarter and houses were just about 100k on average. Now its almost impossible to live near the core of the city to buy a house unless ure making high six figure or move out to smaller cities like Brantford or Windsor to buy one. Not only that but nothing is letting up here, food , insurance, gas ,taxes we gettin hosed to death here. After 40 years here, think Ive seen enough,Im cashing out my house in Vancouver, shipping out to Eastern Europe to retire.

Yeah is it like a private establishment where you can just deny to provide service and storm off? Is that responsible or mature? I know people are saying that they wont come to any conclusion by just seeing half of the story but in the same breadth they are also excusing and justifying the behaviour of the officer saying the couple must have done something to make him so angry, that there must be a valid justified reason for his anger.\nThats called coming to conclusions, from half side of the story nonetheless. \nGiven what we can see, officer is in the wrong to storm off and deny them service when the lady specially says her father died. I think people should be courteous and empathetic enough to offer kindness and patience in those situations. But then again, thats just my opinion, seeing the comments, many may not agree.

thanks for the honest observations. I appreciate it. I have noticed many comments that employment may not be the best in Canada. However, employment is not the only way to make money. Anyone can be self-employed/small-business owner, big business owner or an investor, according to Robert Kiyosaki. I guess, Canada may not be the best country for employment opportunity, but can be the best for retirement after you have gained enough passive income from investments in different businesses.

I would be honest with you most of people who leave Canada can have a good life in their home countries (mainly people who say this are from Europe or advanced country in Asia ), well if in your home country you can't make a life at all then what's the point of going back and what I'm taling about here is mainly African countries where everything is expensive and scarce, us living in third country we can even make enough money for a cost of flight alone in a one year of work, wages here can come to be 50$ USD a month that's if your lucky (and not even to say that you will spend most of them on food and health care)

Since the year 2000, the cost of owning a detached home has risen 10 folds. You could buy a corner lot house in a nice area and good location for an average of $160,000. Now that home would cost 10 times that cost in the last 20 years. Why? Foreign investors and immigration based on supply and demand as this also includes the increase in rent cost. People spend on average about $1000 to 1500 for a room to rent not their own suite in Vancouver. Twenty years ago, you could rent a whole house with a yard for that price on the waistcoats of BC. \n\nAnother issue, there are Canadians who do travel to USA due to people being in desperate need of care. USA has a wider spectrum of medical options in comparison to Canada. Canadians travel to USA because the waiting list is often way too long. Canada is nota complete free medical system as people hear and rehabilitation expenses are not free unless it is inside a hospital. It was from at one time as Medicare was founded on the grounds in the 1960's by Tommy Douglas, former premier of Saskatchewan, who initiated Medicare but it was no sustainable. \n\nJust because a person gets referred to a doctor, particularly a specialist when there are very few doctors in that area of care, it does not guarantee you will receive the treatment. I waited 2.5 years for a treatment in a hospital, only to be told that I was not a candidate for that treatment even though they did not screen me as a precursor before making a rational decision. DEVESTATING! Canadians if they have money often go to USA or Mexico when in desperate need. \n\nThere is a lack of doctors as many people do not have a family medical doctor who know their case personally. Complex diseases do not receive proper care as Canada does not have an integrated medical system of care amongst other doctors for patients. It has been on the news media where people have died being on the waiting list, returning back to hospitals where the hospital emergency because the concern of the disease was undermined with the overcrowded medical system.\n\nThere is a increased gentrification in the metropolitan cities that is an issue as the richer are now richer and the poorer are more poor. As there is an INCREASED immigration there is a huge stress in cost of living as there is not enough affordable housing and increased homelessness in Vancouver and Toronto. Vancouver is the worst place in North America as it is known as the drug hub called Skid Row. You can google this information as there are article written for 2021 and previously. Expo 86 and the 2010 Winter Olympics skyrocketed tourism and immigration that many people who are born and raised here before 1986 are very angry and resentful of how drastic the decline of how the quality of life has become.

Hi girls and thank you I thought about going to Canada but now no desire to struggle life is so precious been living in the state now in Paris France a country I hate so iam not happy here now that my American French daughter is 20, I don't think moving to America is good life over there is not of good quality and is based upon materialism and money only and physical appearance like if you are not pretty enough tall blond enough with cash you would feel like an outcast. I do not agree because education and health in this province are the worst in Canada! Montreal has streets patched and trust me you don't want to drive a new car when they are in so bad conditions... If you can include some pictures of a dirty metro where some stations have rusted plumbing without being changed for many years that you can see it right in front of your eyes! It is not enough to have some nice freshly painted yellow or white lanes on the roads when they are full of cracks. It's like painting a rusted car to make it look prettier!

The reason people leave Canada within first 20 years is they do not have sizable retirement fund to enjoy comfortable retirement life after retirement. The reason half of that leave within 1 year is they cannot afford to live decently here until they find a job in their field or it takes many years before they start making a professional career and seeing the plight of immigrants of their community struggling in menial low paying jobs living in dorm rooms. These two ladies seems from east european backgrounds, these people have comparatively better prospects in Canada than immigrants from Asia or Africa. The reason skin colors make lot of difference. The reality is Canadian government is trying to do everything it can to create opportunities for all immigrants but unable due to racist white people. Just giving a job to immigrant is not enough, they must be able to sustain those jobs for reasonable periods of time. This is where Canada ls lagging. This is clear proof, Racism is very high in Canada. Just the valid proof is these two ladies open an channel and got 180K views within 3 months, they probably make lot of money on this channel. This is Canada. If they really have much productive jobs they will not do this.

After nearly 13 years as of Jan 1st 2022, I'll be leaving Canada on a one-way ticket; not to my country of origin, but further into new ventures.\n\nIt's been a slog to become a citizen and try and make life work here. It's a good place to be successful financially if you make sound choices, and then to live a fairly quiet, isolated life. If all you want is to live within your own ethnic community and have a better quality of life, it's a good place.\n\nUnfortunately, it's never had enough culture or meaning for me. Life feels pretty empty no matter how much money you make. The national identity being based around home-ownership feels extremely depressing to me.\n\nAnd you're both on point about the reserved, passive-aggressive nature of Canadians. I've become like that too now. It's pretty obvious that it costs us dearly; people are unable to be genuinely warm, to take risks and form real friendships. Everything feels surface-level because no one risks taking the steps that might even be a bit of intrusion into each other's lives that is the signal of the start of a close friendship. I'm currently planning to immigrate to Canada. As for me, the very reason why I want to move there is to have better life. There are some great points mentioned to this video but for some cases, most especially if you talk about other underpriviledge countries, Canada is much more better. I'm from the Philippines and I would say that our country is suffering from everything. High price of goods, salary for CAD375 minimum (for a month even you're bachelor degree holder), no health benefits (unless you are working in a private company that offers benefits), no educational benefits (I would consider scholarship but that wouldn't enough to survive in every semester that you'll take). Senior Citizens / PWD that only gets benefit from their 20% discount in every purchase they make for medicine and food and seniors sometimes didn't get their pensions... so on and so forth.\n\nI think, it all boils down from what country you came from and differences of the gov't system that they have. And all of us needs to work hard to get a better life. It will always depends on our decision on what lifestyle do you choose or how do you live your life or what life do you want to live.\n\nBut to conclude this, this is a great video. He should break up the hourly wage and how much we pay taxes in canada and what's the take home. And whats the monthly bill apartment bill, grocery, cell phone, internet, car insurance and whats left behind.. living in good neighborhood means higher apartment monthly rents ... u wud have no option but to send ur wife to work. Which wid make other things complicated. Both of them come home tired and upset and life is too fast to just survive. For Canada small thing like broken arm or need information or certain medication i n that way Canada supior way, it's fairly quick treatment and tends to be effictive. Where Canada starts lagging behind is really in RnD and access to life saving procedures. Too many people die on waiting lists in Canada as there is not enough resources to go around, y'all have waited 4-8 H(normal is 2-4) just to be seen before don't fib to web now. \n\nAnd since we lack competition for newer/better medical procedure, 80-90% of our medical knowledge comes from the states or ww2 Germany.\n\nWhile on say the USA side, due to the competition they are constantly making advancements (which in the long run makes overall treatment cheaper and closer affordable). While with Canada you have fixed prices, which actually encourages stagnantion in development as anything that streamlines the hospital making it more efficient hurst the hospitals next year of available funding.. while being hurt in the USA can really set the individual back.\nIn Canada you get an overall lower quality of care as the talented doctors end up moving to the states where they can get paid what they are worth not stuck on a fixed income. And after all that rare illnesses in canada as stated don't have any coverage meaning that any one hit with hit rare illness finds out the hard way they can either pay for life saving medication or well pass on.. as most Canadian are taxed to high to have any substantial savings available for such an emergency as they fall into the trap that the government has me covered. \n\nSo each system has its positives and negatives and as far as I'm concerned it's not talked about enough honestly up hear.\n\nIf you have been to the dentist in canada thats basically the usa system, though the prices are fixed in some areas so some services won't be available.. as they don't update the payment schedule often enough so certain procedures pay well, other well can actually cost the dentist out of pocket. \nTherefore in some areas you can't get certain procedures done at all the dentist will refuse.

I think a difference that is not often enough scrutinized is how radically different the population distribution is. Most canadians live in large cities like the greater areas of Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary that make much over 50% of the population, Whereas the vast majority of Americans live in medium cities, Canada is all about very large cities and small ones; and its culture is also driven by that. There is no equivalent of christian small town culture here on the scale that it exists in the US.

Truth = Hate speach so watch out. The real story may end up being that Canada has spent 100’s of millions of dollars for unqualified illegals beacause of Trudeau’s self protion campaign but Canada’s Dr’s have adamantly stated the healthcare system is always operating at 100% capacity. When people start dying because there are not enough resources to save them it will get ugly. The money spent on unqualified illegals not facing death or oppression and a governments obsession on self promotion instead of healthcare infrastructure will not make for a great legacy with an avoidable death count.

Discrimination happens because of everything that’s not part of the married couple with three perfect kids who play the make believe Disneyland couples dream...if you’re a single mom...if u receive an income that’s not from an office job as the secretary or whatever...if ur low income...if you’re a mom of a teenager...I’ve had my rent raised monthly while everyone else got to keep their original lower rent...I had to pay $720 for deposit on my apartment while others paid $300 for theirs that were exactly the same as mine.. I’ve been followed and asked to leave even though o hadn’t had a chance to stop and shoplift...I actually called and filed a complaint for the employees behavior on that one..the store manager tried making excuses for her behavior but I asked him...should I be made to feel like I’m not good enough to go into his establishment? Why should I have to come home and look at myself in the mirror to question my clothing or the way I style my hair and makeup...and ask myself what am I doing that makes me look so unworthy..? He zipped it quickly and said he would take care of it.

I came to Canada to travel but on an immigration visa in 1965, I got a job from Canada employment centre for 1.50 where nobody spoke english , I quit after 1 day. A week later I found a job in the machineshop for 3.00 Dollars. Good thing the foreman found a portugiese employee who translated from spanish to english, I myself spoke german, ever since then I did I was on the upswing. The government gave me nothing, had enough money to go back. Always a dictionary in my pocket. In six weeks i know enough english to make the driverlicence and bought a car.

Stupid laws help criminals to make lots of money. And, people see no good reason to comply with irrational laws like this, so they find ways around them. \nIf you're granted permanent residency, why do you have to keep proving residency?\nWhat next? Fining citzens for going on holiday for too long and hence not paying enough into the Canadian Economy? If so, the CEO's of many major Canadian businesses will be hung out to dry. So, I suppose that's a stupid law which won't be brought in, as it would hurt the wrong people.
