I know it is the second richest country in Africa in terms of GDP per capita simply because of their vast oil reserves. But the political instability and social unrest makes it a difficult situation for most Libyans themselves. Why do you think as an immigrant you will suddenly have it any easier?\n\nIf you are black, non Muslim, and only speak English, please stay away from Libya.

Earning say $ 3000 a month in the Ghana for instance is better than paid $ 5000 in the States.\n\nThis is because you spend and are taxed in dollars when in the States whereas Ghana even if you are taxed in Dollars, you spend in Cedis.\n\nSome professions however makes it a bit bearable and sometimes even advantageous to work outside a home country like in the health and tech industries. \n\nTravelling permanently to another country is a life altering decision and needs a careful consideration.

If you've got no immigration issues in the Uk it is a very lovely place and if you've got your Citizenship, it can be Eldorado. Patience is key and it depends on individual preference. For me weather, job opportunities, proximity to Africa, community, are big big factors.

Honestly, the cost of living is high everywhere.. There is no government of any nation that really cares for the people.. I live in Jamaica, and if you don't have links, survival in this country is almost impossible, and if you should get a job, if you don't discipline yourself to live within your means/ budget, you will only find yourself in debts.. Each nation's economy will get worse.. That's why our only hope is the Lord Jesus Christ.. I understand that they are people who don't know this name and there are some that are aware of it but hate it, but the truth is, eventually we will all figure out one by one that we can't trust man, only God Almighty.. And even with the Lord on our side, we will still face difficulties, but he will always come to our rescue, we just need to trust him.. It won't get any better in these last days people, even the great USA economy is going down, because the dollars is gradually losing power and influence.. We can only survive by faith in these days, for there will be no escape for anyone, rich or poor, white or black..\n\nEdit: The whole world will soon want to migrate to Africa..

most newcomers to any country struggle especially since most are not bringing in wads of cash to start a business but literally scraping in using life savings just to get here - however once here with residential status a national health care and level of income security for unemployment benefits is an added bonus which you won't get in every country regardless of residency status but refugees and others come in with no money at all as well as problems in some cases with language barriers, but as bad as everyone thinks it is the grass is not greener on the other side just because you're paying lower taxes but privatising infrastructure only makes things more expensive even when you're not taxed.... and Canada is a huge country with very limited number of tax payers such a small market would double costs for private business too - and just cos things may be cheaper you may find you don't fit as well as you thought..... and also the more you move the less time you have to settle and grow into the space you find yourself now....I've lived in 3 very different countries so I understand how difficult it is.... and how some places regardless of cost just fit better than others.... I love Toronto... but would not want to live in Vancouver or Texas for very different reasons... and don't judge a city by people who don't know how privileged they are to live in Toronto or anywhere in Canada really they should try living in India or Russia or even South Africa... places may be cheap but the lifestyle isn't worth much as a result of being failed states - even USA is falling apart road by road bridge by bridge.....of course there's hope for all of them eventually.... but if you don't like it it's probably best you leave.... if you don't want Canada why would Canada want you.... your just bringing the nation into disrepute

I am immigrant from East Africa and I love being Canada because culture. I came canada 18 yrs ago. Canada was different now and then. I love politeness and smile canadian has when they meet new person. \n That is reason I choose to Canada but now is different. Indians do not respect people and are not open to be part of Canada. To be honest this is not just a Canada problem, I work in recruitment in Canada across from Ontario to Vancouver remotely from South Africa. Its pretty much the same here. Most people live paycheck to paycheck. I manage to save despite also studying still and working, and life, but if i was working like my peers jobs here. I'd still live at 33 at my parents. That a lot of people do. \n\nI think its an international issue. But the reasons like safety, winter and cold, religion, definitely look at asian countries for sure. \n\nWent to Vietnam last year, the level of safety was amazing there, if you could keep Salary from Canada and move to a country like that you can live extremely comfortable.

It seems to me like most will have a hard time convincing immigration judges that they are actually refugees (economic refugees? if you will? ). \nMy take ? The way Federal Government deals with immigration should be changed. I believe that if immigrants already work here and are taxpayers... they should have working visas (at least temporarily). \nUndocumented criminal caught in the act of committing a crime? I work at a hotel and here we have people from africa living from months on our taxes , they get 2000$ a month and meals,groceries litrelly everything for free , plus work permits so they can snatch our jobs , and people just keep talking about students who bring millions of dollars into the country every year and pay by themselves for everything , makes no sense to me
