I think this is exactly what Trump is aiming for. To send a clear message out to anyone who plan to enter the US illegally should be afraid. Why would anyone want to go to a country where they have to continue to hide and live in fear? Its a great deterrent for those who still plan to come to the US illegally. The reporter misdirected the whole story. The story was about tariffs and their effects on both the U.S. consumers and the public as well as the country of Colombia. The story is not about how people planning to come to to the U.S. feel, even though that is of interest. This is an example of how the media and reporters miss the point. Bad journalism.

Not only tit-for-tat tariffs etc, but also plans pulling national funds and other investments out of US banks and corporations and numerous other less obvious retaliations.
