Thank you for your amazing service to our country, Cmdr Shilling. I am 100% on the side of our LGBTQ+ communities living their lives to the fullest as they see fit. As a veteran myself, I see no reason why any such lifestyle would hinder them or others from serving in the military if they so chose.

I may not understand people that transition but I respect them. Just because I’m not gay nor am I transgender I have respect for them as long as they’re good people but that goes for straight people too!\nI hate when people discriminate based on not understanding or respecting others. My wife's been in 14 years now. Nobody cares how this effects us every two years. Even had to use the Male/Man standards to PT testing during her entire transition until her medical plan was complete. In other words, she's above the standards without basically any testosterone compared to others who had testosterone - still did better or on average than CIS Men.

I think the trans issue has a lot of complications that really don't need to play out in the military. I accept the body God gave me and I can't imagine what people go through who can't. It's concerning though that while they're fighting their internal fights it may project on to others. Just because this one man didn't doesnt mean everyone is like him. Should be a case by case basis and not a blanket policy.

No one made the social net in Canada for us, we made it for each other. That's democracy. Having said, that, I use the healthcare system as little as possible while others are breaking its back with minor colds, especially since Covid. Fear of lack of healthcare was not the Canadian norm, but seems to have become that way resulting in people destroying a good thing and getting lazier about personal responsibility! So much talk about politics everywhere now and not much talk about responsibility for ourselves let alone our neighbours. Politicians are not gods!

As a New Zealander I worked with a lot of indian colleagues who actually TOLD ME that they studied AND copied each others assignments & tests in order to pass their engineering exams. Its evident because when they pass & they start working you can tell that SOME of them dont have a clue what theyre doing & they either end up getting fired or they leave the job. You ask any Indian person out here what they do & it is: IT/ENGINEERING/NURSE to name a few...Its sad because they told me that SOME are pushed heavily into it by their parents and their life is not their own.

I am just listening to this and as a Canadian I have hundreds of US friends who cannot afford health insurance at all, for others they paying $600 per month plus for insurance with huge copays and very often can’t pay for meds. I think you are truly uninformed on the US healthcare availability. I would think the chances are of walking into an er and being seen in less than 30 mins unless they were in critical condition. The US is one of the unhealthiest nations in the developed world, with a shorter lifeline than most others. Take a look at GoFundMe medical needs and you will be devastated. Don’t make guesses or assumptions do your homework!
