There are now quite a few news stories in Canada of immigrants leaving the country - some back home and others to the USA and other places. Many just get a Canadian passport and then leave. There are public health care and pensions, so it can be an asset and also a convenient travel document to have. A lot of Canadian university graduates have a very hard time finding work in their fields and a lot of them look to the US for a better future. Both immigration and unemployment in Canada are much higher that in the US - so more people are chasing fewer jobs that often pay less and are taxed more than in the USA. Opportunities are generally a lot fewer in Canada than the US, and the business environment is not as favourable, and taxes significantly higher. You would be getting some of the entrepreneurs from Canada moving to the US for more favourable conditions as well to launch a business and also now a lot more rich investor types, so-called high net worth individuals wanting to relocate, because they just raised the capital gains tax in Canada. Capital gains is also triggered on inheritance in Canada with a deemed sale of property and assets, so rich people would prefer the American system and want to be residents there for tax purposes and have their assets grow in value in the US compared to Canada. There are very large numbers of foreign students and other categories of immigrants which may have as their goal going to the US after getting a temporary visa to Canada which is easy to get - maybe something like half a million to a million people in those categories depending on the year, plus around another half million regular immigrants and refugees now. The Trudeau administration has increased immigration to record numbers. It has been steadily going up over the years for several decades since 1990. Because of family re-unification it can have a snowball effect and could significantly exceed 1 million per year. A lot of the sending countries have much larger populations than Canada, so there are a lot more that can be potentially sent to Canada in the future. About 1/4 of the population of Canada has been added in the past few decades. Add to that visitors and temporary visas - that is a lot of people potentially moving to the US. Before the 1990s Canadians visiting the US were not required to have a passport and a drivers' license or birth certificate was adequate. Now a passport is required. It is impossible to effectively control the long Canada-US border, so there could be some unified policies in that area agreed on between Canada and the USA on immigration and refugees. Canada currently has a very open immigration policy with the government actively seeking out more immigration beyond its current processing capacity and trying to take rejected immigrants from other countries. The Canadian government, especially in recent years under Trudeau is immigration hungry. It might be the only country in the world doing that. What some news reports are now saying is that some immigrants are actually leaving, since they find it so difficult in Canada and some are worse off than they were in the countries they came from, which were considered to be less developed than Canada. \nWashington currently has more immigration controls and administrative competencies than Ottawa, so US pressure and influence is a faster way to get reforms into the system than waiting for local politicians to do anything, which is unlikely. Canada is seen by some as a backdoor into the US. Biden's immigration policies could be seen as very conservative in Canada compared to Trudeau's. It used to be in the news about how refugees were trying to get to Canada and walking across the border in Quebec and out west from the US earlier, but now there are more news stories of immigrants leaving Canada trying to go the other way, probably due to high costs and unemployment because the government took in more people than it could absorb into the economy. They have the idea that immigration drives GDP growth so that they can borrow and spend more, expand the civil service, etc. without making any cutbacks or efficiencies, supposedly without the Debt to GDP ratio getting worse, just by bringing in more people as if that would drive the economy. A lot depends on who you bring in as well. Are they going to go on welfare, are they going to increase crime, will they somehow contribute to society, are they a net tax benefit or cost in terms of government services, will they invest money, will they start a business and create jobs for others ? Those issues do not factor into government decision making in Canada for the most part. Ontario Premier Doug Ford did say there were too many foreign students. It is bad planning not to consider those factors since there are other costs that grow with those policies as well, and infrastructure has to be expanded. I think that the real immigration numbers to Canada are not transparent or made public, nor are the costs involved, if anyone even knows what they are. Nor is the impact on crime. You can guess from what the reports are in other countries. The Fraser Institute has made some estimates on the net costs of immigration to the government budget a few years ago, which were very high and which by now have increased - the cost equivalent of several new aircraft carriers each year. They are big numbers which are not publicized, but it amounts to the fact that immigration is subsidized by the taxpayers in Canada and it is not paying for our pensions as an ageing society as has been claimed. There is less money for education, health care and pensions per person, and those social benefits will probably have to be reduced over time. Social programs can only be delivered to the extent that the government has money. The bigger social system a county has, the more such immigration policies are going to cost. Trudeau has been expanding various social programs as well, so higher taxes and debt are likely with that approach. Then more productive people and companies will want to leave Canada and go to the US. Probably the government does not know what the actual numbers and costs are and doesn't actively keep track of that information beyond what is required. Probably nobody knows what the true immigration figures and their associated costs are in Canada, and hardly anyone has even studied those issues. If they can just walk across the US border and get papers so easily making an asylum claim, it is not surprising, since it would take them longer to get a regular visa and work permit if they did it legally. You could call that a loophole in the US immigration system which is being exploited. The US is better governed in general and has a better system in many ways, but I am not sure if it is the same on that. People have arrived on boats and have not been sent back. At least in the US you have more open information about those issues. In Canada it is hard to find out anything about it. Deportations from Canada are very few. \nOn other issues in Canada when voting in federal elections you have to show a government issued photo ID like a drivers' license or passport to vote and bring a card that was mailed out to eligible voters that gets updated addresses when a person files their taxes. I have never heard of mail-in ballots in Canada, but there are remote areas of the country in the far north who may have special system for voting. It is easier to get a Canadian citizenship than US and many more citizenships are handed out in Canada each year in proportion to the population than in the US. Canadian might be one of the easiest citizenships to get in the world. The official line now is that it is a country of immigrants. Based on current trends, will very little opposition to it in the parliament and most MPs supporting it, future immigration to Canada could increase to several million per year because of the rapid growth of population in the world, and the momentum already growing of immigration to Canada, so it may change significantly in the future. Historically around the world you can see many examples that country names, borders, flags and languages change over time with population changes, so it might not be called Canada anymore in 50-100 years. For example, Bulgaria used to be called Thrace which had been a powerful kingdom in antiquity and had a different language which is barely known about anymore. Over the past 2,000 years it has gone through a number of changes and had various regimes governing it, has been independent and also part of several different empires. Canada has only been a country for a short time in comparison and has been been going through significant changes. Trudeau has said that Canada is a post-national country. Canada is also going through a period of critical self-examination and deconstruction-revisionism. A lot of what had been viewed as positive from its history now is seen more critically, with re-naming and removing historical figures now seen as negative.\nDiscussing immigration policy critically is considered by many to be taboo in Canada, unless a person is saying good things about it in general. You can hear people say that the government isn't processing enough people, for example, but not often that there are too many or that it costs a lot of money. The trend of migration from Canada to the US would only increase much more in the future as it is going currently, and its role as a stepping stone to migration to the US could increase. The way this would be seen by many in Canada is that they are losing valuable people to the USA whom they consider assets, since a lot of officials have been trying to bring in more people into the country, but not everyone wants to stay in Canada nowadays because of a lack of jobs and opportunities. Canada is quite laissez-faire about migration, with Toronto being a sanctuary city as well.

Sounds to me like we need to build an international jail that houses international criminals. Can't send them back to the country they came from, cant send them to the country they are a citizen of and cant sent them back to the country they were birthed in... okay fine.. international jail and let the whole world share the cost.. this might make neighboring countries take action to stop from having to pay more to jail more people. Like don't you do that, you will get us in trouble too.. maybe then people will stop.

Do you think America will be able to get tens-of-millions of illegals out without a fight by them and their countries not taking them back? Why do they think they have rights in this country? Canadians owe them nothing. Some of them lie about studying here but they are job seekers. If they do get to stay then they start bringing family here. The whole business is not good for Canada and our young people and the country at large is being adversely affected housing wise and job wise. Canada is betraying its own people with its sitting back and allowing this farce to continue. Another Britain in the making by filling the country with people who do not embrace our culture and values. The worst is yet to come.

I, in my right mind, don’t care if these economic migrants end up sleeping on the streets. Many of our homeless population sleep under bridges and encampments. In other countries like Philippines or to a lesser degree Thailand, there are a lot of people roughing it on their streets. So don’t cry too much for them. Once, the word is out that the coddling and freebies are gone, then this situation goes away. The ones who are here, can go underground and take cash jobs, then they can take a flight back to their home countries as there is no chance for them to get legal citizenship status.

I am going to tell you all the truth. I moved away from Canada in 2006 and lived in China up until 2019 (moved back to Canada). I saw China develop into a superpower, hiccups and inflation galore. But taxes are relatively fair and the opportunity to build something was always present. I find Canada has become a terrible choice especially now (totally neutral standpoint). If you didn't get into the housing market pre-pandemic, it will be harsh and you will be either a mortgage or tenant slave. The taxes are outrageous, utilities, insurance... these items are MUCH higher than China (and most countries). Owning a vehicle comes with high costs and you basically need one if you don't live in a top tier city. And then you are overpaying in living costs. Income tax (25-60%), property tax (about a month's salary), HST (13%)... and what do you get in return? A broken healthcare system, more freedoms (debatable), your children learning about woke agendas? An inadequate pension? If you are not in the top 5-10% (and I am), this is a very bad deal. My advice is to try to earn online with a passion and live in a location where you can actually save. Coming to Canada for the experience is great. But trying to build up in Canada is not a great choice. I am on the winning side warning you, Canada is saturated... look elsewhere.

I've been bringing this up for years and only get labeled as racist and bigoted. I get told straight up by indians that they don't care about this country, that they just want to take education and money back home. Canada is in crisis due to immigrants so I don’t understand why you keep coming. Of course Canadian people will not welcome you, our kids can’t get jobs because all jobs are filled with Indian students who agree to work for less ruing our work system. We have Indian people crapping on our beaches because they don’t know how to use a bathroom. Complete different mindset and culture. We are a clean country and welcoming but millions of people at once is too much. I’m pretty sure India would feel the same way if Canadians would do that to you. Not sure why everyone in the world is allowed to be proud of their culture and heritage except for EU or western world. As a Macedonian/Greek Canadian, whose family moved here from Greece in 1968, I am now preparing to move back to Macedonia or Greece. I am also considering moving to Thailand, Vietnam, or South Korea. I'm 36 years old and I can no longer make a decent wage with my college diploma. So I have gone back to university, and I'm 2 years through my 5 year degree. Once I get my degree I'll decide where I'll live for the rest of my life, but it will not be Canada, that's 100% for sure. I plan on liquidating my condo and house to buy much more land and nicer property, with money left over, rather than just surviving in Canada and living on scraps. This was once a great country for immigrants and native citizens, it's now become some kind of cruel joke. The only thing I'm thankful for is my Canadian education, as Canadian education is highly valued around the world. Other than that, Canada can kiss my Greek ass.

As an Indian who was born and raised in Canada (immigrant parents from 1994), one of my favourite things about being a Canadian has been finding my own path as a citizen. I still love my culture but if I wanted to be in India, I would have just chose to move back. My parents came here to give me a better life and opportunity. I have fully embraced that. It frustrates me to no end when I see other Indians come here and disrespect the country that is giving them freedom. Canada isn’t your personal frat party to act like a public disturbance. I have proudly adjusted to Canadian culture and I associate with it more than I do India, and I always will. My parents didn’t give everything up and move here just for me to pretend I’m in India. \nI hate that I get lumped in with this mess sometimes.

Went to Canada in 2005 first. Things were so different. Was there just for a year before moving to California for about 9 years. Now back in India and love it here. Glad I enjoyed the good days in Canada and USA when it was really good times there. Even Many parts of Uaa are like this now. UK too is bad choice. I worked for a Canadian school/institute as their admissions advisor for India. But when things were not looking good for their job prospects I honestly told them not to go or wait to get in a better US university. Ofcourse this ethical mindset was causing trouble with my work profile and targets, so I quit. Atleast I won't feel guilty of misguiding hopeful students who were ready to take education loan by keeping their homes or ancestral lands as mortgage. I will advise the new generation to choose any country for education after doing all research, not just by the glossy picture they portray.. or best to stay in India and help our economy grow.. create jobs here. Better to live a life king size here than doing labour work in other countries. Better to be a part of growing India than being a secondary citizen somewhere else. Apna desh apna hota hai.???

I would like to bring your attention to the unjust practices going on in Australia. They have recently made an amendment to the Temporary visa laws that bars students above 35 years of age from getting a TR if they are pursuing masters by coursework degree. It was not so earlier and just like that changed the law and students like me are left in limbo. I have completed 1 year of my MBA and now I have no where to go. I have lakhs of education loan on my head. One of my friend is moving back to India after 1 semester and she has spent till date around 30 lakh rupees. So please make a video on this topic and highlight to the world how these countries play with international students.

They come here and want to run our country. But we say anything then we are in the wrong. As Canadians were getting pushed out and forgotten. Not enough affordable housing, not enough jobs and not enough hospitals to support healthcare of people. Developed countries term are scam. Rubbish video and info i earn 50k a year and got approved loan of 4 lakh . You can buy a condo in 3 to 4 lakh , and treatment waiting list according to priority if its really urgent the no needs to wait . What ever problems you showed in the video is only related to International Students. But at the same time when International students come to Canada to study not to settle. When CBSA always asked them how long is your study and what would you do after your studies are completed. Every student would tell them that they will go back to their country once their student work permit is finished. Then CBSA will allow you to enter Canada. Go tell them when you come to airport that you wanna stay here for ever they will kick you out right away. I don't know why students are protesting when they knew the rules for students are different from other categories. And it is changing every year. The problem is international students not the Canadian Govt. Indians know this is the easy way to get into Canada. Canada is a free country to everyone there is no discrimination . I have seen 50 year people from India coming to Canada for study but actually they want to settle here. Drugs problem is everywhere in the world. India also has druggists and mafias. Everything that's being said in this video is so true....my elder sister lived in canada from 2012 to 2022 and she has witnessed declining of that country....health-care is big issue....housing has become expensive.....too much of inflation....she had to travel to india in order to get her knee surgery done as waiting time was 120 weeks something....finally she moved back despite having PR and living happily in Mumbai eversince

i myself came back from Canada. There is nothing wrong with the country as such but people need to get out of this thought that it’s a wonderland where all of their problems will magically cease to exist. There’s nothing special there. The western culture in itself is ruining people’s mental health. To go thousands of miles away, leaving your parents behind, in a country with terrible weather is just stupidity in my opinion, especially for those who are well settled here. It’s a different story for poor and lower middle class people.

Canada has always been a peaceful, prosperous, progressive and a good governance oriented nation. In the recent decade, too much of woke, radical left wing ideology has penetrated into policy and public institutions that have led to Canada’s current day crisis. \n\n2. This country has always welcomed talented immigrants who are willing to integrate with the Canadian society, embrace its values, traditions and culture. However, in the last 10 years, too many refugees and reckless mass immigration has put an incredible pressure on the economy, infrastructure and social cohesion. \n\n3. The political leadership has allowed reckless mass immigration without caring to boost the economy/infrastructure to handle the volume and hence the sorry state of affairs. \n\n4. Too many immigration consultants of Indian origin engage in outright VISA frauds (yes, this is unfortunately true) leading to ppl coming in as a tourist and then seeking asylum or converting their visa into a student visa (55 year olds from Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat coming here as students).\n\n5. A significant chunk of people coming from India (esp. Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat) seeking a permanent residency in Canada are using student visas as a back door to claim eligibility for PR/citizenship. This is downright abusive and was never intended to be used like this. This has fueled a fake college diploma industry into Canada where “2-room” colleges have sprung up along the highways giving out fake diplomas and certifications for easy cash. Thus, the students, the immigration consultants and the fake diploma issuing colleges are all getting benefited from this scam. Unlike the past, the recent batch of immigrants in the last 3 years or so, make no effort at all to integrate into Canadian society and abuse the system, create law and order problem, drive recklessly, talk loudly in public spaces, litter everywhere, cross railway tracks like they do in India, steal liquor from stores, shamelessly collect food from food banks (as a way to save on groceries) that are meant for the elderly, disabled or those that are in utter poverty. It wasn’t like this ever before. In cities like Mississauga, Brampton and Surrey, the Khalistan movement + gangs involved in theft, drugs and human trafficking are from Punjab/Haryana and they have mushroomed here like crazy. Excellent vedio. Whatever information you have gives is absolutely true. I totally agree with you. Health care is not exactly free because people have to pay 40 to 50% tax. Jobs are not there. There are many other draw backs in Canada. \n\nUSA is more difficult than Canada. Nothing is free in USA.\n\nWe can go on and on with this discussion. \n\n\nWhat I will say is that in my personal opinion India is the best country to live in. There are many government hospitals which give free treatment. Government is providing free rations and houses.\n\nPlus in Dental college one can get free treatment to some extent. \n\nOverall one cannot compare the facilities available in India with any other country.

Not comparing apples to apples. Amazon returns, education, drugs, labour issues continue in not just Canada, but also US. Uk and most 1st world countries. \n\nAapne end mai best bola, but I can tell you, you can always earn the most for your education outside, save and come back to live a better life here. To get the same growth all in India is extremely difficult\n\nIndia is service based, to generate employment we have all door to door services. And its cheaper here but everything is so expensive when you compare your income. Work life balance in service sector is awful too, but we hopefully will come out of it someday, when Indians start respecting other Indians.\n\nI think its easier to defame a country based on its bad, but then when we discuss our issues here, you can say you want to leave India as well. I moved to canada to finish highschool and university, and honeslty, I cant wait to go back home. Im under a lot of stress to finish my school before things get even worse. My parents work as building managers for a company, and even though the price of our apartment is lowered because of that, we still have to fight every day just to not go homeless, even though we live on 2 paychecks. We are 1 minor inconvenience away from going completely bankrupt and homeless, canada is honestly one of the worst countries to be right now. I'd rather be at home, in my politically corrupt and underdeveloped country than be in canada, because at least in my home country, i can get good pay and live without fear of going homeless.
