This is all of Canada, cost of living going through the roof, basic needs, food, rent, Gas increasing by as much as 22% in just the past 2 years. Tent cities in the parks for the fist time ever in my 60 years. And now its winter and January and we have people dying in the street from a lack of shelter and the cold in 2024 ... my God.

Hey these are my last 15 days in Canada I have everything here good job but we are moving back for my son. Here zero social life for immigrants unless u have your relatives here already. Mg son goes to school for 4 hours and rest of the day we try to keep him busy in activities at home but we are humans too , not everyday we can keep him busy all the time away from I pad TV. I am frustrated seeing him like this. We are here since 2022 he was 2 years old now he is 3+. He has not a single interaction with other child in our apartment… just school time is interacting time for him with other kids .. as a mother I am depressed and taken decision to go back to my home … now I can see him playing outside and interacting with people…. No restriction nothing… We have prioritised his physical health so coming back.. and yes u are right car is must..

I am born in Canada and i lived in Montreal's suburb(South Shore like we say here) all my life and i love it but i would never live in big major cities because of increases of crimes, high prices of houses/condo, traffic jam, pollution. \nMy girlfriend from Beijing came here last september for 2 months and she really loved it. She enjoyed the freedom, the many different foods from other countries in restaurants, our culture , the people kindness, beautiful nature and easy living.\nYes we have too free medical health care here in Quebec's province(Sun card ) and i have an excellent medical plan with my employer so i can have acess to private clinics free of charges when it's too long in public hospitals.\nI hate snow and cold long winters since the age of 18 when i had to go out for work or school and i dont like our corrupt goverment but we can vote for a less worst one every 4 years. ?

Yeah, being a woke sh*tshow and a new dictatorship has probably nothing to do with it. I think how Mr. Turdeau behaved during the years of the pandemic and showed his true colors and what he thinks of the people and their opinions and rights is reaping its consequences. Pandering to maybe 2% of woke crazies and punishing the rest .. You had a nice run Canada. Once my favorite country, now a frozen hell hole of madness.

I rent a room in Ottawa for maybe 2 months and when I left. I heard the landlord was imply in something very bad that they said at the tv. a few years later, maybe 5 years later when I applied for my Canadian pardon, the ottawa police wrote something about me like was i was subject in that event! I went to the police of ottawa and they said sorry we cannot find out who mentionned that because after few years the info is deleted or not accesible to the public. That affected my pardon. and when I saw thos crazy behavior of Canadian government and the peoples in Ottawa, that give me more reason to not go back to canada. I never saw so many crazy peoples in a country

I would love to ask those 2 people how non-muslim people feel in Muslim countires?

The odacity of theses muslims is unbelievable. Imagine living in a country which is not your own culture and expecting the people there to change for you. look at theses 2 living and making money in our country, exploiting our ressources just to bash us after and complaining. Why do we let people like this living in our country ????

As a canadian i never thoughg of living anywhere else vanxouver is so beautiful. Growing up govrnmebt started cutting programs and services in schools ans public resources. And kept doing it. \n\nNow they are removinf beautiful homes to build ugly apartments no yards .\n\nThere is not enough public space. Everyone is moving to the city. We use to be able to go to the beach on a weekday in spring and there was no one. Now its packes. To get to the bathroom was almost a block long. The bathrooms are small. Goos for population we has in the early 90s. We need somethings 4x larger now. \n\nIm ok with new comers but if they create a new community in the rural areas. We have so many areas up north no one moves to.\n\nOr lots of space to build new communities up north, not deatroy the current communities that already exist. \n\nWith all the new apartments there is not enough space for cara, no parking and no room on public transportation.\n\nSimply, the city cannot support anymore people. Its unrealistic. \nI worked with a girk who shares a 1 bedroom apartment with 5 other people and she still paid 1500 a month for rent.\n\nThis will soon be like america - run down, extreme poverty & homelessness. The homelessness has gotten so extreme.\n\nWages havw increased maybe 3x since i was a kid, but pricea rose eveey year.\n\nAs a kid we paid $850 for 3 bedrooms. When i mo ed to my first apartment i paid $800 for 3 bdrms. My friend pays $3000 now for a 2 bedroom aptt.\n\nThere are more crimes more thefts now. My old houae was 600,000 that same house is now 1.5 mil. \n\nI make 2x what i made 3 yeara ago ans things are even more expensive than, i have less now vs when i was making less. Ill never affors a house i can barley affoes to save.\n\nIm certainly looking at gettinf out of here. This country is going to trash

I want to leave australia for exact reasons. I have 2 little girls. One day walking at the beach we saw a man with big belly walking around in very revealing bikini. I take my kids far away so they dont see him. Sad thing is no one notice him. People in west have lost the plot. Lost their head in the clouds. If they think thats acceptable i dont have to accept it. If your kids are not at school yet dont over plan it. Let Allah guide you. We are currenly in bali. And will travel malaysia turkey and egypt. We wanto worldschool our kids work online and have multiple bases ❤❤❤

I am living in GTA since 1993. Initially I had been a factory first 11 years. Ever since i did not get job based on my skills, it was far big difference.\nLater in 2001 i started to work in IT Industry, after this10 years this industry started to decline.\nCurrently i do still find a job, but that is like a contingent worker and now i work 6 months in a year. My kids have grown up, and other than a miracle, there is nothing of a skill that can you depend upon.\nMoreover Canada has failed sense a difference between faithful citizenship and rogue communities. So rogue communities are have 2 jobs (cheat fully) and there are some people i know are working on 3 jobs absolutely have less real skills than me.

I want to share my experience , me my husband and my 14 month old daughter landed in Canada Calgary on 28 June 2023, we stay for 2 weeks with our friends and start searching for apartment. Once we moved to our apartment we started looking for jobs, in the month of aug we both got a job I am working as deployment engineer and my husband is working as product owner, and a daycare for my daughter. We worked hard in searching jobs all day all night, and with the grace of god we got it. The life is tough every where, it is just the way you think of it. We left our well settle jobs in India before moving here, but yes with full determination. I want to encourage people here not to loose hope prepare a plan for your self and stick to it, you will eventually get it. All the best to all the new comers and those are planning ?❤

9 years ago I stayed in Malaysia on two occasions as a workaway volunteer, each time for about two months. As I'm sure you know it's Muslim majority but with large Chinese and Indian minorities. I found it a wonderful place for people and still keep in contact with a Chinese and Indian friend.\nIf I were your age (I'm 79) I would definitely leave UK for your no's 1,2,3. Good luck.

While there might be wonderful places to see, and interesting people to meet and food to eat, I would never even visit there for more than a day or 2.\n\nSome times traveling by road, it is faster to drive through the states to get to other parts of Canada, and that level of visiting would be barely ok.\n\nYour government is actively making it unsafe to be alive there, for so many types of people. Unless you are part of the elite, making gallons of money, your government doesn't even want you to live. It's horrific.\n\nAmerica is bad y'all. Just so bad.

I saw this as early as 2017 when I attented St. Lawrence College in Cornwall. The year I started, a new program had been created and just happened to be nearly completely seated by Indian students. There were literally 2 or 3 white people in the program, no joke. I also heard at the time that SLC had aggressive recruitment efforts in India.

People think that's Toronto's problem, the fact is, the whole world became more expensive after COVID-19. You won't find any place on Earth reasonably priced. Turkish apartments went up 300% in price, and Top European countries - same picture. Only Asia is still somewhere cheap, but prices went up there as well. I visited Quebec City and Montreal in 2009 for 2 weeks. It was absolutely lovely. I visited the same cities last September, my romantic notion dissipated. Especially Montreal, so many homeless looking young people on skateboards. I don’t think it’s trendy to wear baggy all black that reeked of BO. Price tag for everything is high, higher than my Los Angeles suburb to be honest. Most ppl are just making ok income, not high earning top tier professionals. How do ppl keep a roof and food on table? Plus transportation and insurance.

I've been living in Toronto for 2 years, and I would say Toronto is one of the most overrated cities. I'm from Japan, Osaka and lived in Tokyo awhile as well. I lived in San Jose and Seattle for a while. I'm convinced that Toronto is the worst city TBH or probably Canada is perhaps not as cool as people expect. People say Canadian health insurance is pretty decent compared to American health insurance, but I think Canadian medical system's getting broken, and sooner or later it's gonna be like American medical system unless they pay extremely high taxes.

I used to live in toronto and i actually liked it there, people are ok not as friendly but ok, the lifestyle was good with so many different things available to do, u never get bored there, good nightlife, good sceneries, good malls, good parties, hot looking girls everywhere, the food is amazing with so many options to choose from all around the world, all good...... but the big problem was that life was so damn expensive, i had 2 jobs and was barely making enough money to survive, that's why i left.

The problem with healthcare in Canada is middle management.\n\nThere are like 3 managers for every doctor, 2 for every nurse.\n\nThen there is regular administration.\n\nCouple that with the public sector unions that represent ALL of them, and the system becomes geared to making itself bigger, and less efficient.\n\nWhether the public sector unions want to admit it or not, they have literally destroyed healthcare in this country.\n\nIt's all about the people that work in the industry now, and nothing to do with the patient, and THAT is the problem.\n\nIt's gotten even worse since Covid, now EVERYONE that works at a hospital is a ROCK STAR, so you can't say no to any of their demands anymore, or you're a monster that doesn't care about 'front line workers.'\n\nCanada has become a punchline.

However, the quality is rather inferior to HKG or even in Maindland China. The Dentistry is not free, by the way. and other specialist, such as Protates (Yes, for aged man like me ), the quality (cure results) are really 2 levels down. Canada used to be so affordable, and such an amazing place to live, it's sad that this is all changing... : (\n\nI do have to point out, though, that the tax rate in Canada is the same as in most of Western Europe (30 to 60%) and the ratio between salary and cost of living is similar. It's pretty normal, in France, Italy and Spain to spend half of your salary on your rent/mortgage, some people even spend more than that. (The average salary in France is about 2,000€ or sometimes even less and the average rent for a 1 bedroom in big cities is about 1000€. In Spain, the aberage salary is about 1,000€ but rents are 600€ per month or more...).

Many of your numbers are wrong sweetie. Here are the facts;\n2 years ago, you would go to IGA (where food is fresh but it is pricey), you would get out with 2 bags of groceries for about 120$. Today, it is 180$ for the same 2 bags. this is NOT a 10% increase... but almost the double in price!\n\nRent, in Quebec province, have gone from around 1,000$ to 2,400$ in less than 5 years, and each time a tennant leave his place, the landlord rise (against the law but nobody can do anything) the rent often by 25 to 40%!!! The Demand is so high, that he can refuse you for any reason (including racism, children, pet, smokers) he can think of. Again, this is against the common law but in truth, there is nothing anybody can do, unless you can bring him to court, which takes lots of money...\n\nSo in reality, from the last 5 years, almost everything has double in price and salaries have barely start to rise (mostly due to unions who revolted) but if you are not part of one, your salary basically stayed the same.\n\nA very good advice, don't come to Canada. Canada is suffering because of bad leadership. The government is unable to step in in housing, because that would mean lowering the global value of it. Unable to step in in services, because it is stuck with unions that support laziness instead of competences and performances. Unable to step in in anything because it is controled by a literal mafia that totally surrounded the government and pull the strings of every ministers who are no longer there for the people they represent, but afraid of being killed by those mafiosies. \n\n So the honest worker is mostly doing 32k a year with charges that are about 30k a year. That means most people are going paycheck to paycheck, unable to afford savings, nor think about retirement. Unable to afford to improved their housing situation, paying rent that is so high that it should be consider a crime. \n\nIn fact, i predict many landlord will be killed in the coming years, by people losing their mind, because of incredible amount of stress they are suffering from. You think i am joking? Just the last 2 days, 2 woman lost their life because of being beaten to death by their husband... \n\nThis country is failing and failing fast because it doesn't take care of its population anymore... it is a doom country and immigration was the nail in the coffin. You explained this so well!! My partner and I moved to Canada 3 years ago just as we got approved for H1B. We had to chose between moving to CA or staying there in an uncertain limbo for 2 decades waiting for a greencard. You did a good job talking about the downsides of moving such as a lower salary and higher home prices. We bought a small townhouse for the price we could have paid in the US for a detached house. Many people I know in similar situations leave CA and move back to the US once they get their Canadian citizenship. However, I do think that there are many reasons to stay such as the political climate. The US has become very regressive banning abortions, making gun laws more lenient and it’s not as accepting when it comes to diversity and inclusion (be it POC community or Lgbtqia+) unless you live in a big city which is expensive. These are the reasons we chose to stay, especially if we have kids as school shootings are getting more and more common there.

As a westerner (Australian) I have lived in 4 different Islamic countries in one of those countries although they were devout muslims they were welcoming and friendly. That country was Oman the other countries I wont name but I will say that at no time did I ever feel completely welcome or safe. There were definately people in all them who were tolerant of westerners but there were plenty more who were not. Oman is a wonderful country its full of history including the Arab wotlds oldest Souk located in Muscat and as a bonus its only a 2 hour drive over to Dubai and the Emirates it does get quite hot in summer but for us it was a nice place to live.

I left Canada 2 years ago and moved to California. I lived for 13 years in Mississauga. About Canada: terrible weather, worst drivers, fewer cops to ticket drivers, worst community and University teaching experience. I taught for 13 years in Ontario, and it's all business. Housing is more expensive in Mississauga than a beach house in Orange County. Excellent medical system in Southern California (at least what I have experienced so far with two younger daughters). With year-round great weather and access to high-quality fruits and vegetables, school systems are among the finest in the US. I have not heard a single gunshot in the last 2 years. People are not allowed to take weapons unless concealed with a license.\n\nI would not recommend anyone to settle in Canada. I heard that most immigrants who move to Canada are not well-educated and end up doing blue-collar jobs. Those who are educated are doing under-qualified jobs. A super expensive country with super high vehicle insurance, expensive cell phone and cable plans, and so on. I took a dermatologist appointment for my kid, and it took 6 months in Ontario versus two days in the US. I know it is just my case, but overall, I am very happy that I left Canada.

I left canada after 4 months realising that India is way ahead and will soon surpass canada in all terms. Also, the growth opportunity in terms of your financial is massive in india. I live in NYC, and have been to Canada at least four times, but the last time I was there was quite some time ago. I always had a good thought about Canada, because it seems like some of the problems we have in this city, Canada also has in some way. Right now the city is a complete mess; at post pandemic and with a bit of a recession and a noticeable increase in groceries to basic things like cat food and tissues. That's not the biggest problem, it really is the legislation or lack of for people who not care for themselves. Those homeless people are almost not helpable and I don't feel threatened by them, but other people definitely do. The way the government has handled these undocumented migrants is a complete disaster and couldn't have come at a worse time. We have a serious housing crisis as well, and people can end up paying for high rent, for not the best places, but they want to live in a certain location. The migrants are coming in at about 60k in the last two weeks. You see mothers with little kids or babies selling candy all over the trains and it's becoming too much. Many see it as a form of child abuse or exploitation and we do not respect it at all. I think they feel we are weak and will just pay double for something we don't need. At one station today I must have be approached 3 times and interrupted 2 times while using my phone. It's just too much and we already have a lot of immigrants here, so I'm not sure where these people believe they will find any meaningful employment and the cold is coming. I wasn't born here, but came legally as an infant. I think the border situation is a disaster and it's obvious to a lot of people that the government lets things happen that will definitely effect citizens in the next couple of decades. The city is crowded enough and I do not know where this is all going, people do not want undocumented migrants house a few hundred feet from a childrens school. I just don't understand how they let this happen....I guess this is how Biden does things and all the groups that cheered buses pulling in when it first started are dwindling down....they just want them passed on to someone elses responsibility, but wouldn't want them as neighborhors necessarily.
