There was a study done for schools shootings among G8 countries.\nBetween 2008 to 2018, the 7 non american countries had 9 school shootings combined. US has 287.\nIt is a serious problem.

Tyler the point is not to move to a small town away from gun violence, the point is even one school shooting is horrific and you as citizens should all be changing the gun laws.

Oh Tyler. I've been watching your content for months now, and I do wish you would read and interact with your commenters because you would learn so much. I'll just comment on one fact. As a young, white, childless male, I doubt you would be affected by most of the reasons people who visit and know the US here in Canada would think of. Most of my friends are in the US and I livestream with them 5 nights a week, and every time a ma ss shooting is reported, we hear about it and suffer along with you too. \n\nFACT: The number ONE cause of death for children and teens in the US is Firearm related, so gun deaths. Yes it's true, and there isn't a single friend of mine who isn't scared to express an opinion, or send their kids and grandkids to school or Uni. wherever they live in the US. Statistically speaking, almost every citizen in the US is going to know someone who is un-alived by gun violence. We have strict gun laws here, and I wouldn't trade that for anything.

There have been 23 school shootings (K to 12) resulting in injury or death this year alone in the U.S.. There have been 167 school shootings resulting in injury or death since 2018. I think the reluctance of most Canadians to move to the U.S. in the face of such statistics is well founded. This feeling is reinforced by the knowledge that the US government and a large portion of American citizens prefer to do nothing about it. The price of being an American? No thanks. Too high for us.

Seriously we have a hard time understanding the American view point when it comes to guns. No offence but with the number of school shootings per year in the US and the deep seeded need to be able to own a gun , it appears that your country values gun ownership over child safety . Which is just mind blowing. Don’t get me wrong we have school shooting too, And other types of violence in schools, nowhere near what is happening south of our border . But , from our perspective the numbers speak for themselves. Just look how many have happened so far in 2023. ✌️? * just Google “ School shootings 2023 by country” . We worry for your children every day.

This might be cold, but when I hear of another mass shooting in the US, I roll my eyes, & think only in America.

School shootings and health care. Would you really take the chance that it wouldn't happen in your school, or that you only get coverable illnesses? Seems a bit of a gamble.

Just due to random mass shootings on a daily basis alone is enough not to move there plus so many more valid reasons that Tyler refused to talk about.

No can't even consider it, health care, politics, weather, shootings, policing and my list goes on. Yes it is a beautiful country with lots of really nice people and friends and i have visited quite a bit but the pluses are far less than the negatives. Health care has probably been a top reason for a long time.. also mass shootings.. but lately.. we have anti abortion transphobic regressive types here as well.. but it feels like the odds of them getting into power broadly is pretty slim.

Of course you do not have a discussion about children getting slaughtered in schools. Sadly you have all become Numb to it, and seems to sadly accepted it is part of your daily lives. How that happened is pathetic to us. Australia had one school shooting decades ago now, and in less then 2 weeks all assault rifles, etc were outlawed. Now that is leadership, which the average American now knows they never deserve.

Children ARE being shot on a daily basis all over the United States! You guys have multiple mass shootings every single day. There's so many of them that you don't even hear about most of them on the news because they aren't worth mentioning.

We'd thought about it. On balance, I think we're settled in Canada and late in life so that re-starting would not be practical but ... we'd thought and talked about it. The potential freedoms we feel like we're losing, here, now. (It's always complex ;-) )\n\nCanada's health care system/financing/administration is having problems too. We aren't subject, the same way, to individual medical bankruptcy but the system is VERY broken.\n\nWe've had shootings on the streets lately ... innocent bystanders being hit. \n\nCanada's a great (and imperfect) place. \n\nIt's not better or worse (IMO). It's different.

Hell might as well expand the borders to include South America since it's already the district of Columbia. At least then the money would still be going into America's economy.

After some weeks when i saw that you were not killed it was like one of the most happy moments for me. it was because i used to call you mamu. I user to tell my friends that you were my mamu. i grew up, got busy in life, watched no dramas. After 15 or 20 years i heard about your story. i was shocked to hear about the tragedy you faced in pak. For me, I live in Vancouver, but when I'm done college, I'm hoping to find a job in Seattle and immigrate there. They recently opened up a Pokemon HQ there, Nintendo's hiring, Seattle's the HQ of Bungie, the maker of the Destiny games and much more! I feel like it's easier to find a job in the US than in Canada. In fact, my college instructor said so. There's more jobs there than in this small town. I'm heading towards SFU and I'm hoping to land a few coops, including one in Seattle to see if I like it there. And no, I do not care about healthcare, mass shootings or politics. The chances of you randomly being shot is about the same as getting ran over by a car. For healthcare, it's usually provided by your employer. But otherwise, you can buy it yourself as there's many options to choose from. Some of them are really good, but people are just overgeneralizing everything. My hope is that employment will eventually lead to permanent residency. Then, I can go buy a house in Texas, Florida or Colorado where it's much cheaper than Vancouver

Why they don't shoot like they do Americans

So Sikhs can carry knife and call it KIRPAN. Recently in Gurudwara there is a shoot out and people were killed, so is there any explanation of defending others there. Don’t support someone and educational institutions is the place where you must leave the religious aspects especially with weapons. No one is complaining about his turban they are complaining about him carrying the knife openly. Police did the right job here and that stupid has to learn where to carry KIRPAN and where not to.

I like the US more but wish there could be better health care system and a sustainable solution for the crime and mass shootings problems
