I am not against immigration but the fact of the matter is this in this country aren’t going well even for its own citizens. Homelessness is up, inflation is up, unemployment, gas and groceries are up. The average American has to make a choice every month wether they get to feed their family or catch up on bills. We need to improve our infrastructure some cities are literally falling to pieces. We need to fix our country just like these folks need to do to their home country, running from the problem won’t fix it.

The lady was crying,not because she can't get a benz or Gucci bag but she wants a better life. We should be allowing them in with 7 years no crime condition and to pay the processing fees instead of our taxes but after are American citizens. Don't worry more cone in means more hospitals schools stores so they won't steal our jobs.

And little things like higher speed limits, cheap gas. Imagine being lied to, to the point that you run to a country that will treat you like a 2nd class wage slave and put you in a concentration camp until they can figure out what to do with you. If you want freedom and liberty get on a boat and find an African country with no or little taxes. Meritocracy is dying in the west and it's because large American companies love cheap low skill labor that won't complain as they are being worked to death for pennies. The cost of living is so low for them that they could afford a future of prosperity or middle class lifestyle in their country of origin. Force their governments to change economically to sustain themselves for their interests. Imposing themselves upon a nation no longer prospering as it did during and after the Industrial Revolution is senseless. There is hardly any upward mobility in blue collar jobs, ever more so in the labor market. If they are not making $40K/year (assuming the majority has not a college degree in something marketable, advanced skills, a tradesman or artisan) then they’re struggling like everyone else in the service industry. Jobs for teenagers, entry level workers, part time jobseekers like for students, people needing extra income cause it’s so expensive in CA, NY, Austin, TX, Chicago or SF living off work entry-level service jobs. Technology has created a shortage or labor gap between unskilled jobs. Jobs that Americans need while pursuing training or technical degrees for the new skilled jobs. \n\nImmigrants do not need to fit the stereotypes of working in the service industry or as farm workers. American citizens can fill these labor positions quite easily. No, immigrants, work visa or not, do not work any harder, smarter, slower or faster than anyone else wanting to work. If someone is motivated to work an unskilled labor job then they will be just as effective as the next person. The HR for these companies definitely virtue signal and satisfy diversity quotas every time they hire someone due to their work status or ethnicity. Everyone and anyone can be replaced and so the question is, who do you, as an employer, want to replace the job vacancy with? Gonna hire cause they are a good fit or because your helping some politicians cause? Gonna grant asylum cause their lives are in danger from a government firing squad or because Biden/Harris will pat you on the back? \n\nThere is reason to illegally enter this country and it is disrespectful, disgraceful, dishonorable, dishonest and disheartening to the ones who are here legally by going through the process like everyone else paying time and money. Even Christopher Columbus paid to be here, no one handed him a free ticket to ‘paradise.’ The Mayflower patrons weren’t met with resistance by the indigenous community, they were harmonious. If there was a border in Maryland at Plymouth Rock, I am sure the Puritans would stop there first to get their passports stamped. I mean hell, these ‘asylum seekers’ don’t have the courtesy to get passports, why not? Passports are not that expensive considering what they pay coyotes. It makes no sense and is suspect. They won’t get stopped at the border if they have a passport!!!

My dad came here undocumented at 15 and he was working at a Cadillac dealership for a year. He saved up and got his first car a Datsun 240z. He ended up getting granted amnesty. He kept working hard and eventually married my mom and brought her over here as a permanent resident. My dad didn't over run the border and he wasn't asking for welfare. My fiances dad has been here 20 years and he hadn't been able to get his permanent residency despite his wife being a permanent resident. He pays his taxes with his itin and does the right thing besides being here undocumented. I think they won't legalize him because he pays his taxes. If he stopped they'll probably legalize him because to the government all they care about is your money.

What needs to happen is those Latin American Countries need to get their shit together and make it safe for their own citizens. No one should be angry with those who are fleeing those dangerous Countries, they should be mad at the leaders of those Countries that are so corrupt that they won't do a damn thing about crime.

It could be worse. We could be like Russia where everyone is trying to leave and NOBODY wants to enter. For as much as I complain about our problems here we are definitely doing some things right if people are stampeding to get in here.

You would be better to be a licensed electrician or tradesperson and work in more remote areas or central Canada. Canada admits many immigrants very year, and if you are not well qualified, you will be competiting with these workers for work, with lower pay and job security, in sectors like food service and day-care.

I've lived In the US all my life. I was fortunate to come across my amazing wife who lives In Vancouver, BC. I was able to travel to Vancouver a lot since 2007 and I love the city. It's very beautiful, the people are decent, the houses are nice (yet expensive) and overall I like it up there. And you can't beat the free healthcare up there. I'm going to be moving from Chicago to Vancouver, BC in about a year cause my wife has had some medical issues and coming to the states won't work financially since she has medical issues already. I'm nervous yet excited. It's not that diverse when It comes to black people but I can get along with anybody. It's cheaper to live in Dallas Texas than Montreal, which is one of the cheapest cities to live in Canada, so I don't know where you're getting lower cost of living (and yeah I heard you're trying to compare apples to apples, but this is impossible and honestly, wtf would someone want to live in a crime ridden city like NYC? To confirm as an American. Yes, it seems like everyone wants to put hot sauce and cheese on everything and it's annoying. The tap water here is bad unless you get it from the fridge or have a filter. Here in Arkansas, I think our spring water is great.\n\nRegarding the city and getting around to restaurants and other areas, pretty much. A good portion of our factories are on acres of land. However, some are still close enough that you can walk to. I'm certain this is hardly different from Canada but we are 97% rural. People think of America as big cities but usually its the local town and a pumpkin patch. When Aba said America is like 40 different countries, he ain't wrong. \n\nFirearms is ingrained in our culture. That's a given. I see a lot of people mention safety and this is what I can say; I felt my safety was compromised by a tornado warning. Trouble can happen but if you don't deal drugs or do some under the table stuff, usually you won't be a victim of a crime. \nI'm planning on owning some land myself so I can shoot on it, farm, and raise a family. Just be independent.

What you'll seldom if ever hear about Canada:\nIt can get hot as all huck in choice locations in the summer. Not for very long, mind you--It's still O Canada Eh and the usual climatic stereotype applies. Here in southern Ontario where many Canucks live, we're far away from the oceans and only get the temperature-swing damping effect from the Great Lakes, not the oceans. So, we get the continental climate that sometimes gets hotter than hell in the summer, and of course you also get to freeze the little hairs out of your ass cheeks in the winter in grand Canadian tradition.\nJust because it's Canuckland doesn't mean it won't cook your goose!\nPlenty of northern-most US states get the same raw deal.

It's all about perspective. First of all people come and leave every country on a yearly basis. 2nd You are right about the healthcare system it definitely could be much better but it beats living in the states where you could be wiped out with an expensive health challenge that insurance won't fully cover or just covers 75% and leave you on the hook for 25%. That still can be hundreds of thousands of dollars. 3rd you mentioned that it's cold, and you noticed that being black with an accent made you stand out and seem different. Well you have to realize you moved to a different country so you will be different to the people who live there. I don't mean to sound harsh but that's just common sense. As long as you have the equal opportunities and are being treated equal in regards human and civil rights then I don't understand your reason to point out the obvious of being observably different in a foreign land and experiencing different weather or activities. It doesn't make sense to move to a different country but expect the same things you experience in your previous country. I immigrated to Canada from the states and it was a bit different for me as well but I had to come to the realization that I wasn't in North Carolina anymore and I shouldn't expect the country to change for me. That's not how the world works. 4th and final point. Ontario is expensive, so yea you can't get ahead there. Move to Alberta where cost of living is cheaper, Calgary has the most sun out of all the cities and it's typically really cold only for a couple weeks in the winter with decent summers.

I have lived in Canada my whole life and I used to be proud of my country but the last 20 years I have lost that feeling no one should have to work the kind of hours we do here just to pay our Bill's and paying into our pension plan knowing we have to go to 70 to get our full pensions and still won't have enough to servive. It's truly wrong and our government is a waste of our time .its sad what the Canadian government has done failed canadians.

So quebec is the WORST province to live in and I live here. So with racist language laws, the worst health care it is the bottom of the list. And if you can't speak french don't come. You won't get a good job and you will be treated very bad.

@CitImmCanada -I came to Canada in 2018 , paid my Tutiom fees working day and night offf , completed my graduation in 2020.I worked as manager in gas station from 2020-2022 during pandemic putting my life on risk , you guys first messed your immigration system during pandemic,after pandemic you got this absurd system of TR2PR , messed up your own system , in which there are Still millions of files pending , then you guys stopped the immigration for 1 year, still I thought it would get better with the time. When the immigration started back in this July the scores were so high that only PHD and people outside Canada with 0 canadian skills can only get the PR. You guys then gave visas to Afghanis , Ukrainians (the fake humanitarian help your government provides )which I don’t mind but the government should have fixed the people who are and we’re here , who came as students , who has all the details of the individuals , has all the experience needed , has all the potential needed to start the career , has 0 criminal record but no you guys keeps getting new and messed up plans. like seriously this country and system is run by this type of people. I am gonna be going back to my country soon as I don’t wantt to stay now in Canada. The coming 10 years will be a disaster if your government and people won’t WAKE UP!!!!

You used Canada ?? to get a passport, nothing to brag about, Canada is a beautiful country the people are tough and friendly, the weather can get cold in winter, sometimes 20 and 30 below zero for weeks, the weather can cull out the weak and the lazy, Canada won’t miss you
