Yes and no, tons of unfilled jobs but severe shortage of places to live in major cities and a lesser shortage of family doctors

I have an idea of what this man at the beginning is talking about, not the homeless aspect but being turned down for nonprofit programs, I am on a government disability pension in b.c I was making some strides to better my life such as schooling etc, then my last living family member my father passed away in 2014 and more and became extremely depressed and had thoughts of suiside, I told my doctor what's happening to me, and he made letter after letter to mental health on my behalf, for some assistance, and I got nothing, because I did not fit the mental health criteria of sleeping in a tent smoking crack, meth or shooting up etc, I'm guessing because I was still paying rent and eating that I was not unstable enough to get any assistance, or go back to school etc but at the same time, literally tens of millions are spent annually on the coast for those on drugs and in tents and all it seems to do is enable the problem, while those who want to work and get on with thier lives get nothing.....

Canada is now like last night’s pizza, it looks good but after a bite you realize it’s stale and unappealing. It’s not just bc of the party in charge. Our country has some of the worst American solutions to issues that are common in say the UK. We don’t take internationally trained doctors - make them do nonsense tests, make them live in shithole towns, reduce their wages. We don’t let international grocers or cellphone companies in to protect our own non-competitive, shitty companies. We don’t let international dairy in. We can’t have Greek feta cheese but we can have shitty ‘Greek style’ cheese made by some farmer in Regina. We have always isolated ourselves and attached ourselves to Americans. No, medical care is not good in Canada. Diagnostics are not good. Doctors never knew what is going on and don't seem to care. Italy and Germany are way better and have integrated understanding of medicine. ~ And, no, Canadians are not friendly but quite hostile and rude actually. I came here 30 years ago and it has gotten really bad in the last 10 years.

The housing crisis is unbelievable. Last 5 years house prices went up dramatically. Cost of living; our grocery bills doubled in the last year! Health care system is crippled. We moved to another city and still waiting for 2/3 years to be assigned a family doctor! Safety is becoming more and more issue. People used to keep their doors unlocked. Now? No way josey. It is sad. I m looking for a change. Next election, definitely will vote for the opposition party.

Just because you had the privilege and the means to be developed does not give you the right to demean other nations. Yes people in India are general prone to having a shortcut process, at the same time, highly skilled people are abundantly present. In the information sector and other highly skilled areas, they are present earning loads of money which reverberates to more tax money for the government. \n\nI know that they have major issue with absorbing the host country culture and I believe that can probably or maybe alleviated by having some cultural programs so that they can fit into the society so that the Canadian culture is upheld. It's always difficult to see changes around you and your home being in your words being raided by foreign entities. Guess what? The world is filled with different ethnic groups. Hundreds of years ago all your native homes were part of the indigenous people here and they didn't even have time to complain or lament online when the Europeans butchered them and massacred their homelands, claiming the land and setting up as their own. Now you are in a position to call something your home and we all know what all your ancestors did regardless of how good you are right now. The least you can do is not comment such provocatively online against other ethnicities or is this atrocity still there in your blood. It's very simple. Try to think beyond frustration and be grateful for what you have. \n\nBy the way I can write more but I don' think it's worth my time but maybe positive things can happen if you put your mind into.

This country? No, our government for some reason wants an insane number of people. Not the kind of people we need either, we need doctors so badly, not 1 million more students with no real skills. Also “birth rate” is an issue cause no one can afford to have a family. Importing a bunch of people isn’t going to fix the main issue. I just became a Lithuanian citizen and plan on leaving. Why do immigrants expect it to be an easy life and a job right away in their field? My mom was a doctor and dad an engineer. They weren’t delusional and knew they had to start again. If that’s an issue, don’t come here

Every coffee shop, gas station, doctors office, dental clinic, banks, all you see is Indians! that's it. Its worst in Calgary! I was raised in Guelph ON, and I loved my childhood in Canada. My friends were white, Sikhs, Bosniaks and Vietnamese, I loved how diverse and welcoming Canada was. At 12 my mother had to stay in the hospital, quick admission, everything free, great doctors and free meds after. That is the Canada I remember.\nAt 16 we moved to NY, life was harder at first. I joined the US Navy to get ahead in education and move away from NY. As time went on I made a good life for myself, married and got a nice condo. My mother got married and made a good life for herself too. \nNow 22 years later, every single one of my friends from high school moved to the US 'cause they could, not one person said they wanted to live in Canada. I still consider myself a Canadian with the Canadian values *I* was raised with, but the Canada of my youth is gone it seems. Honestly make me sad.

Politicians have got us in a deep hole where no return. I used to rent a 1bdrm for $500, now it's at 1800$ in shitty neighbourhood, had to wait over 20y to get a family doctor, problems keep rising without solution. All they care about is paying our taxes. It's a joke, honestly I won't encourage anyone to come here. Last couple years they brought millions of students who are now in sleeping on streets.

Canada can't continue with this amount of immigration. Honestly, IMO, Canada should only be considering skilled immigrants, and importantly, immigrants who can speak either English or French articulately. My daughter had a resident doctor who was Indian, who was going to perform a procedure which included using a scalpel on her tongue (she was tongue tied, minimally). I couldn't understand a word he was saying, neither could she. He got so mad he threw the scalpel at the wall. I went and got the supervising physician, and we got the procedure done. My point here is, yes we need skilled workers, but they need to be able to communicate with the general public.\nAlso, the family reunification program needs to be overhauled. No seniors unless the sponsors can pay for them out of pocket until death; and no extra money for children who are brought over that arent the sponsors biological children.

I’m 68-years-old and was born in Canada. I worked hard all my life. Now I can’t get a doctor. I’m told the problem is baby boomer doctors are retiring so not enough doctors. BS,the problem is the population is much greater than the resources needed to support it. Why are we bringing so many people into this country when resources such as heath care have been depleted?

I was in the emergency room a while back. The entire thing was full of Indians with their elderly parents and families. It took me 7 hours to get in to see a doctor. I was also on a wait list for 9 months for a heart scan.

Hey I’m Canadian and I feel bad new comers coming here looking to realize a better life when the reality of that matter the things they can access and freedoms they can have will be limited. There’s a serious medical access and to find a family doctor or wait 12 hours at the hospital. Also when people are professionals like engineers or doctors they have to start from scratch that’s amazing how many doctors or other high level professionals I met as a waiter, taxi driver, working min wage in a store…Oh boy the insane proportions of the housing is ridiculous to say the least. There’s people with 9-5 making 50k at the food banks, now low income people make less wayyy less. So I think they are even turning away international students. It’s quite unfortunate and not realistic. I live in Montreal. You know to know french here Quebec french. Well the increase in crime is because people are getting desperate and are in poverty and desperate. What n unfortunate situation.

How can any immigrant from any country be alowed into Canada with no officially certified trade, no profession, not a nurse, not a doctor, not an engineer, etc. and then work at minimum wage jobs in a convenience store, gas station, Walmart, Tim Horton’s, Canadian Tire, McDonald’s, or truck driver, janitor, etc.!! It is horrible that we are seeing an increase in homelessness, drugs, and declone of heslthcare system. The rich don’t pay their fair share in taxes just loop hole tax invasion with charities. People go in debt for an education. People on single parent Disabikity or Welfsre incomes besides minimum wage are closer to the poverty line since the Inflationery hike’s incline to decline. Doctors and teachers don’t make enough to keep up with inflstion. There are family doctor shortsges. We have a heslthcare crisis but not like the Ststes, we have long wsiting hours for nurses and doctors, rent is too high and enpensive, petro might go back to $2 per litre like 2022 following the initiation of the Russo-Ukrainian war, housing is $20000 more expensive in Canada than the USA, immigrsnts and permanent residences are leaving, we almost had a housing bubble like 2007(USA), we spend too much in taxes, our social net isn’t working, we have low production compared to to the USA, we have a population pocket, we have increase rent cities, we have an incompetent PM, we have carbon taxes that cost more on utilities and petro with rebates thst only gives us Pennies or jnickled to the kids these days, and we have over spending in foreign conflicts like Ukraine when fuck Ukraine and Israel/Palestone they can fight their own shitty battles than having Fold War II.

I was living in Windsor Ontario, by 2020 with my wife to work as skilled SMT engineer, came and housing wasn’t that bad at that time, but made my calculations and saw that I wouldn’t be able to afford buying a house unless i’m paying debt my entire life, doctors availability was a joke, me and my wife had a baby loss due lack of gynaecologists, and struggling everyday because of not having a car, came back to Mexico 1.5 years after, now i see I wasn’t wrong at all about coming back.

I moved to Canada as a child with my parents 41 years ago. It isn't just inflation and cost of living that is the problem. It's the dramatically increasing racism and discrimination, even against people who have been living in this country longer than the racists discriminating against them. Seriously? This is not the Canada that I came to as a child, grew up in, or have lived and worked in for many decades. I made the mistake of working around the world for a short time and picking up an accent that wasn't even mine originally. I had a Canadian accent before finishing elementary school. To come back to be asked to go home or 'we don't want your sort here' is not just simple racism, but hatred that makes me regret ever having agreed to taking on Canadian citizenship. My kids and grandchildren have Canadian accents and were Canadians from birth. But should they leave and return to the same crap??? What disgusts me more is that the PM dares to include immigrants with refugees, under the banner that 30% of the population are immigrants. Under the law, refugees are temporary migrants and usually nothing more. To bundle immigrants who came to Canada through legal means of applications, brought hundreds of millions dollars into Canada with them of their own hard-earned money from their own countries, to have it taxed out of them, and their families deliberately put into poverty so Canada can fulfil its 19th century-PM Macdonald immigration policy of, and I quote from a Canadian federal government website, quoting PM Macdonald directly, about breeding out the Indigeneous people, is beyond sick! Canada used to be a good country, but when a person has to keep explaining where they got their job experience from and if they have any Canadian experience for every time that they look for a job in their lifetime in Canada, something is very wrong with Canada. Most jobs in Canada are blue collar and very few are white collar, yet Canada still continues to deceive the world into believing otherwise. Canada is a great vast and beautiful land, but only a small percentage of it has any infrastructure, roads, or homes sufficient to house what is a decreasing fraction of society. Refugees take preference over immigrants and citizens alike. The lie about the homeless is getting bigger. Most homeless Canadians today are veterans, elderly, disabled, mentally ill, poor, and professionals and trades people, yet Canada brings in countless professionals, claiming that their education and experience will get them into the professions that they are coming from. It's all a scam! Canadian education is not the best and yet people with better educations and job experience are being forced to spend all their money to go back to university or college to get jobs that they rarely will be hired for. Canada is not short of doctors, just short of professionals who hire professionals without using discrimination, hatred and racism for their HR kit! Many taxi drivers are doctors, engineers, and so on. So, please stop lying to the world and tell the truth. And no doubt this entry will be taken down because it offends a Canadian who doesn't want the world to know the truth.

I was misdiagnosed for year and could have died when I went to the emergency room. I needed surgery and was told my wait would be two years. Then, when I went to Serbia to have life-saving surgery, the government would not refund the cost, because they decided it was not an emergency—I “could have survived with a catheter”. The doctors in Canada are kind and lovely people, but they are just overworked. The system is completely broken. I’ve been telling all my European friends who are thinking of immigrating to Canada to stay far away. Is there a single government service in Canada that is functioning well?

Canada brings in many educated professionals to the country but when they arrive, they're unable to get a job. I've heard horror stories of doctors from Latin America who have been told that in order for them to practice medicine in the country, they're required to do further study at a university for between 2-4 years (regardless of English proficiency). Canada clearly doesn't value foreign experience or qualifications.

This video failed to cover the root of most issues that lead to these problems. The recent surge in foreign students is caused by lack of regulations on private schools who brought in excess amount of students because of the higher fees they can charge. This in combination of the booming short-term rental lead to shortage in housing. In regards to the healhcare in Quebec, the doctors association is very powerful and influential, yet the system is outdated and the shift to the private sector has increased the issues.
