Hello Anna and Anastasia your channel is truly a hidden gem full of useful information and insight. I am an international student myself and I agree with all your points in the video, Canada used immigration to fix a deeper problem and that is its difficulty to incentivize the economy by having a heavily regulated environment, high taxes and low productivity. It will definitely alleviate some of the pressure on the system but, the real cause is still there. The first sector that is going to be affected will be the education as colleges and universities became over reliant with the revenue coming from Int. Students (which is not particularly small) and institution will need to adapt. When I first came here I fell in love with the country and I really feel fortunate to enjoy this beautiful place and doing everything to assimilate and integrate myself into the culture. I think here you can have a sense of hope of things improving in the future (something that is not the case in my home country) but if they do not fix the underlying problem it does not matter how much immigration they reduce, Canadians will not see a significant improvement. Keep the awesome work!!!

If you were to migrate to the country this immigrants came from no western person would be considered from that country. \nBut when so many immigrants migrate to western countries and claim asylum and get citizenships they call themselves Canadians.

I find people leaving Canada came, got a passport and moved home but keep that passport close. Or you have the money to leave. How many want to leave their country but don’t have the money. India is dirt cheap as a foreigner but as an Indian wow it’s expensive.

Ms Mexican-American, if your family members are deported because they came into the country illegally they will never be able to apply for citizenship! I think they would not even be able to apply for at least 10 years... Could change you will be dead before they can even start the process that may take an additional 6 years after waiting at least 10 years to apply which totals almost 20 years.

People who came to Canada before covid and easily got PR are acting axactly like u right now. This video of PM is criticized by many with rationality. Migrants are facing negative sentiments from citizens and its sad u being an immigrant originally not understanding them.

We went there in 2023 March as temporary residents, came back last month, i.e. October 2024. Me and my husband both had jobs there, not white collar jobs though. Every point mentioned in the video is so true and valid. We saw/faced/experienced all of these and decided to come back. I saw comments about the Caribbean, our countries are not the same, there is one Caribbean country that is always in turmoil and their people are fleeing for refuge . Barbados don’t have no turmoil our people do not seek refugee status in no country. On top of that we have people from the UK, Canada and USA fleeing their country to migrate to ours, they don’t cause any issues at all. Canada like many countries who came out fairly unscathed from COVID are facing the same dilemma, they didn't get the massive economical bounce back and the momentum that went with it like many countries who were devastated by COVID. If you look at the data between Canadian household income compared to the US, excluding the top ten percent since the US has much more income inequality than Canada, you will see that most Canadian are doing much better than their American neighbours. And on top of that, we have safer streets, healthcare, longer lifespan and better public education system. What we are missing is more leadership structuring our economy rather than completely being depended on the free market. They are managing the economy rather than facilitating more growth, none of the Canadian political parties seems to truly be engaged with that. We are not the US, we do not have the population to grow a service economy like they do, which has a compounding effect on their economy. We need a more focused approach to managing our resources, including human resource, which requires some planning on the economic side.

Not enough people are being sent back. Also, I don’t feel sorry for them because when my parents came to Canada, they went through the proper channels and filled out all the paperwork they needed to. As soon as they got here they found jobs which was in abundance at the time. So trying fake anything just to come here is unfair to the others who do it the legal way.
