Close Reading

As a Muslim living in Canada, I don't see the harm in a woman wanting to cover herself, I wear the head scarf myself, but in my opinions I don't feel the need to cover myself to prove I am more modest or a better Muslim.  I believe everyone has free will and has the right in this Country to dress the way that the law has allowed them to.  No one has the right to tell someone how to dress, not even the Prime Minister himself.  Telling a woman what she can and cannot wear is oppression.  I truly believe that if Muslims want to live in Western civilization, then they should refrain from covering their faces because the face is our identity and People have the right to know who you are and what your face looks like.  You cannot vote with a covered face, you cannot cover your face in a passport photo, you cannot cover your face for your driver's licence etc... I am a Muslim woman and I say this.  It truly is a shame how the media is portraying Islam and the Muslim people as a whole, and it truly is a shame that Canadians have become so ignorant.  I see more ignorance and racism in Canada than I do in America and 9/11 took place in America.  If you want to know about Islam, learn about Islam from a Muslim, a Library, google Islam, or offer to spend a few days with a Muslim family for research to get a better understanding of Islam and Muslims.  As a Muslim myself I can understand the hatred and the ignorance because we act according to how we were taught and raised, and yes we have many extremists claiming to follow the Islamic faith.  These extremists are not only hurting Western civilization, but they are also hurting the peaceful moderate Muslims that value their rights and freedoms as Canadians.  I do not appreciate ISIS hijacking my religion, I do not appreciate Hamas or Hezballah hijacking my Religion because I am a very accepting person and a very open minded Muslim and to be defined by media as a problem or a terrorist is very hurtful and a shame.

Don't end up like us in the UK. Be smart and tell em to do one canada

Speaking as a white man I have to admit I don't quite understand the need for anyone to organize as a race in Canada. First generation clubs from whatever country, sure, but as a race? Is it the elephant in the room... American slavery?  I can't help but think that most perceived problems blacks have in Canada are due to American issues we see in movies and media.\nWe in Canada bend over backwards to offer opportunity to succeed. Even touching on racism is widely and loudly crushed. I personally, as do most, give any individual the opportunities they deserve but it's up to them to screw it up or not. To me, if any minority can't make it in this society they aren't trying.\nIt's actually worse in my mind to be white male in public forums because our views and opinions are marginalized and shouted down. Youtube and the internet are the few forums where honest feelings and opinions can be spoken. No one with anything to lose would say this in public for fear of attacks from the thought police. Pretty sad we live in a free country that actually doesn't allow free speech from all. I guess some are more free than others.\nKeep telling me I'm unfair and bad, when I'm not and I might actually grow resentment and the very prejudice you're complaining about.

That is true certainly but you can not tell me that Christianity is as big a threat to the world as Islam or that the ideology is as violent\nChristians certainly did travel the globe spreading their culture by force but we have seen that does not work, is this Islam trying to do the same?\nHaven't we learnt that freedom of all is of paramount importance and free and secular societies work far better than theocratic ones - just look at the level of social & technological progress of the West vs ME

There is nowhere in the world that is actually backward enough to accept Shariah Law. Not one country in the whole world has exclusive shariah law. You would think that would tell them something wouldn't you?

SPOKE TO GABRIEL NO ONE EVER HEARD IN THE QURAN SO THERE IS NO PROOF AT ALL TO WHATEVER MOHD. SAID IS TRUE...I CANNOT BELIEVE HIM

THE QURAN CAME IN 640 AFTER JESUS CHRISTS RESURRECTION...NOW ONE PERSON SAYS SOMETHING WITHOUT ANY WITNESS AND TELLS GOD TOLD HIM SO .... WITHOUT ANY PROOF OR WITNESS HOW CAN ONE BELEIVE WHAT HE SAID IS CORRECT....HE ALSO THINKS GABRIEL IS A DEMON THE FIRST TIME HE MEETS HIM AND GABRIEL PRESSES HIS NECK 3 TIMES AND TELLS HIM TO READ.....YOU MEAN TO SAY THE ANGEL GABRIEL DID NOT KNOW THAT THIS MAN WAS NOT LITERATE ...AND THIS MAN THINKS GABRIEL IS A DEMON...THEN HE CHANGES HIS STANCE !!!!

A WOMAN IN THE QURAN HAS TO BRING 4 WITNESSES WITH HER TO PROVE THAT WHAT SHE IS TELLING IS TRUE, IF SHE FAILS TO DO SO EVEN IF SHE HAS 3 WITNESSES SUPPORTING HER IT IS NOT ACCEPTED IN ISLAM, THERE ARE STRICT ABOUT WITNESSES...BUT WHEN MOHD. SPOKE TO GOD/GABRIEL THERE ARE NO WITNESSES AT ALL,MOHD. MARRIED A 6 YEAR OLD AND TOLD GOD TOLD HIM TO DO SO MOHD MARRIED HIS DAUGHTER IN LAW AND SAID GOD TOLD HIM TO DO SO,BUT THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE WITNESS TO SAY THAT HE HEARD MOHAMMAD AND GODS CONVERSATION

Rather than criticize Muslims: Mohammad and Allah, let’s tell people the Truth and that Truth is Jesus. Jesus said He and Father are one. Jesus died for your sins so you can be in the presence of God in Heaven. Without Jesus you will never get to Heaven.
