Hi! Great video and generally balanced in terms of the ideas expressed. Having lived in Canada for a very long time, I have to say that it's a good place to be but the two glaring problems are: 1- the healthcare system is broken. It's very hard to see a doctor and even harder to see a specialist. We pay a lot of taxes and at the end of the day we don't get the services that we paid for. I'd rather pay out of pocket but get to see a doctor when I need one. 2- Canada is a Nordic country so you'd better like winter when living here. By contrast in the US you have a variety of climates so easier to find something that works for you. The cost of living is, I agree, very high in Canada, but it all depends. If you compare it to living in California or New York City, I'd say that our cost of living is cheaper. But in the US you do have the choice to live in a more affordable mid-size city, while in Canada options are much more limited (big cities only include Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary).

I have mixed feelings about this. I feel like a total first letter of the alphabet-hole for not thinking of helping right away. When I lived in San Diego, it was a palpable daily reminder. Lots of people have cross-border lives. Family, work, home is on either side of the border. Now living up in Washington State, it's different. Here the border with Canada is all about preventing Canadians from stealing technology from us while allowing them to work for us. Some partners who come visit us often times get searched for technology. Like pen drives, samples, etc. It's a totally different story. Canada probably has less homeless than all of south America. It's an easy claim because literally, if you can't insulate your self in winter you go visit the great gardener Jesus and his weirdo multipersonality disorder. In south America, you just need to eat and not get eaten by things. So the result is that people survive way below the poverty line. Then, the big lie tells them that the US is better so they come over to eventually learn how the others found the three headed gardener the hard way. I feel like maybe if they got a tour of the country and learned how shitty it is to live here too, they might think twice about coming over. There are periods and ways when the US opens it's borders but it's looking like a real shit show right now. We don't have enough jobs and not enough houses to house everyone. At least in south America you can live in the family house and no one bats an eye. People help each other in poverty.

While it's hard to get a family doctor, medical care is not unattainable. There are walk in clinics, urgent care centers and emergency hospitals. \nHere you were treated according to the urgency of your situation. It's called triage. If you are fine your doctor will send you home rather than pay for unnecessary test. However if you have a legitimate medical issue or strong family history of serious medical issues your doctor will order will order testing. When that testing will be done depends on the urgency of the situation.\nFor example: It took 2 weeks to get a lump biopsy, results came back with cancer cells, surgery wait time was 3 days. If I needed a hip/knee replacement I'd be waiting 3 months. The emphasis is on preventive medicine.

Very true. I moved to Canada at the age of 20 going on 21 in 1990 and in a few months, I am turning 54. I've been to college twice and I could not get a job in the fields I studied for; instead I am working in a factory and I've worked hard. I'm on medical leave, but I'm now waiting to return to work and my employer has not been making it easy to return. I plan to return to my home country once I retire, because I hate winter weather and when it gets cold, my arthritis flares up and it will get worse as I age. It's very expensive here, car insurance, house insurance, phone bills, grocery bills, property taxes, and federal taxes. You work and work and you get 2 weeks vacation and sometimes, you don't even get to enjoy it. I remember getting sick when I took my holidays. You work long and crappy hours for just enough money to pay expenses and you don't really get to enjoy life. Canada is a beautiful country, but when do you get time to explore and enjoy it? Right now for me, it seems to be when I retire I'll be able to do that, if I can afford it (remember, taxes are high).

I’m sure you’ll start to be reasonable regarding Canada. I had a good life good job & a nice home in Ukraine. Due to the barbarian russian invasion my family & I fled the horrific situation in Kharkiv city. I was driving a mini bus of 4 families! Most are children. We’ve arrived to Europe. Crossing many countries (Poland, Czechia & Austria) we’ve arrived to the country leading the EU. In Poland & Czechia, we’re treat very good by the people. In Austria we got hardly a payed hotel where children could get a rest!!! We still didn’t understand why they don’t want to give us rooms despite we’re paying for our staying!!! In Germany, I believe that the government did its best. But the number of comers is huge! Of course many they got disappointed as happened with me! But I still understand and believe that really the government & people did theirs best. So fast I got a job! The social connection helped to introduce me to the company! But i was not hired, I still to express myself & my qualifications. The manager was understanding, so he accepted to communicate in English and to offer me the job in case if I am successful doing the job during the first week at the site. I had to change the machines menu into English. So the manager was very satisfied with my job and I got that job. The rent! You’ll get it only if you receive the blessing of each member of the county and a very strong social connections! The doctors! To make just a blood work for my son it took 45 days of waiting! To get the doctor appointment, you need that a German guy call and get you the appointment! Because when my wife called, the secretary said: we don’t speak English! But when my wife went for her visit she figured out they’re speaking English better than her!!! My son has an issue of hyperactivity, so they refused to accept him at school more than 3 hours a day! And he was excluded from the birthday parties of his colleagues aswell other events! Other Ukrainian children, they were just attending classes! Just a show! No body cares how help their integration! About, the taxes! The half of my income was going to the government! The money back?! Only 200 euros/ month for my kid. And nothing else. Nothing! To get a neurologist appointment for my son it was necessary to wait 3 months! Prices?! Everything expensive! Technology?! Not better than Canada at all. Bureaucracy, Canada is much less. Banking system, Canada much better. Where in Germany?! The best province in Germany “Munich”. Where people stoped long ago dreaming to purchase a home. Guys, Canada doesn’t through broken people as we were in camps! Where nothing is human there! Canada doesn’t enter you in cercle of hell bureaucracy just to get your kid into school! And if he needs a support he get it right away without any background that he’s not our!!! I got a good job in Canada; so fast. Without any social connections because simply I do not have any. I rent an apartment for my family, without to proof to the landlord that I’m the best guy in the world with a witnessed county about that!!! I want you to be sure, that I am not the lonely case. Just ask Ukrainians stied in Europe for a while before they move recently. Just ask them. I am not saying it’s a paradise or cons don’t exist. Just paradise doesn’t exist! And cons are everywhere. Just I want you to be fair about Canada. Please, be reasonable! The cons in Canada are not catastrophic, and it’s not difficult to fix them. It may take some time, but not difficult. Ok racism definitely exists, and the doctors are hard to get, mostly we welcome immigrants, homelessness and drug use enabling is real, but most of the other problems aren’t that big compared to other places honestly. I always feel privileged to live here because I’d trade other things other countries have for free health care s thousand times over. I do feel bad for people that struggle and have to use their life savings for one surgery for example or spend $2000.00 to have a baby in the hospital. I lived in the states for awhile when I was young as well. I remember a white racist lady pointed a rifle at me and my black friend in Missouri when I was 6 years old, here I don’t have to worry about that happening to my kindergartener.

Canadians actually work 2 jobs a lot and even work on their vacation time to get paid. Americans hardly work 2 jobs. Your boss will not allow you to work on your vacation. I’ve never worked 50 hours a week. And I’ve never met an American who’s afraid they’ll lose their job and put up with anything. Not even for the health insurance. As someone from Belgium that now lives in Columbus OH because of marriage, you're spot on with everything. Safety? Limited. Sprawl? Terrible. Rent? Eh it's not that bad. I make a base salary of $82.5k and my wife makes $50k. Our 2br 1ba apartment's rent is about $1000. It's a nice place, but it has some flaws. Our next place will be around $1500. I've told my wife I don't like the sprawl and lack of public transport here and I want to move to a place where that is less of an issue: Chicago, NYC or Boston. However, the latter two have crazy high rent.\n\nI must add, the terribly unsupported public education system in Columbus is by far the worst reason. My wife is a teacher at a Columbus City School that's almost 100% black. White families put their kids through private schools. The rest of the kids have terrible home lives and are therefore incredibly ill-behaved and under-educated. So much so that the teachers just CANNOT keep up with Ohio's learning standards. By the time these kids graduate (and that's a big IF), they would have learned about 20% of what a regular 18-year old would have learned in most of the world. This is in part due to:\n1. Parents that do not involve themselves in what their children do, and therefore do not discipline appropriately.\n2. Terrible school admins that force teachers to lower their standards to have a high passing rate for the school (otherwise it gets shut down). Also, due to the No Child Left Behind Act, admins also force teachers to teach how to pass state tests (repetitive bullshit) instead of important learning materials and/or critical thinking skills.\n3. A lot of these students are pushed into the gang lifestyle and see no future in their education. They don't even try.\n4. Burned out teachers that grew tired of the negative ROI and start giving out poor and inadequate work packets. However, I don't like blaming teachers, especially because my wife is the hardest working person I know.\n\nIt's hard to see my wife come back every day, exhausted. It pains me both for her and her kids. America doesn't give a fuck about education. The big theory is that they're purposely not giving public schools attention so they can be phased out and private education becomes the norm. And if you can't afford it? That's great, we need factory workers.\n\n\nI might convince my wife to move to Europe eventually (luckily a European marriage visa isn't as stupidly hard to obtain as it was for me to get here). Having kids in America is not something I'd like to think about. For now, I'm taking advantage of this high salary to save as much as I can and focus on advancing in my career. Things have been getting very difficult in on the east coast lately. The great Ontario exodus has been really putting all our health/real estate/employment sectors to the grindstone, but I mean I guess that's always been our motto though (hard times in the Maritimes™). I live in Japan right now and I could totally relate to your sentiment when you brought up locking the doors. I've forgotten to lock my door countless times here in Japan, but I never feel worried because crime is just so low here. I never forgot to lock my doors back in the states and that was probably due to my sense of paranoia of what could happen if I forgot. I feel more at peace here than I do back in America. Also Japan has so much healthy (AND DELICIOUS) food everywhere you go. Fast food chains aren't all over the place here in Japan besides in Tokyo (and maybe some other big cities), but that isn't most of Japan, so living here has forced me to eat healthier and I am so grateful because I feel a lot better. I feel like moving back to America one day will be very hard when it comes to this.\n\nAlso I am surprised you all didn't mention the differences between health care! I know when it comes to Japan and America these two countries are night and day different.

I’m an American. I live rather close to Canada and spent over 2 years in time living there over summers mostly . I love both. If you aren’t going to a grocery store you are probably getting fat in America. I find it hard to eat when I’m outside of my larger metro area. honestly I don’t worry about my security because thankfully I work hard to pay the bills to live in an area I don’t need to worry about. I am an American born in NY, raised in VA. I also lived in Van Nuys for a year, also lived in Texas before my job industry moved me to Canada. \ni have been in Canada for 7yrs, been to Vancouver, Toronto and MTL and to be honest i like a lot of things in Canada like the health care differences and of course the lower insulin cost for my husband but i still want to go back home. If anything i would stay in Toronto because it's the closest similarity to home but where Aba and Preach live, in Montreal, it's literally been my nightmare. I feel like the tap water at least in my area has gotten worse over time. \nOne thing i feel like they didn't mention that I have to tell people from America to watch out for is the credit card vs debit card thing. \nI grew up only having debit cards because i didn't want to get into debt. when i came to Canada i continued getting a debit card and realized the hard way that not everything accepts debit cards and you NEED to also have a credit card to access certain things.\nbut overall i do feel much safer in Canada even though the crazy trump lovers are showing up here and there it's significantly less than i see when I'm back home.

I don't get why people are so shocked we have homelessness in Canada, I guess people from other poorer countries overlook this part. Homelessness has been around for many decades now. Money doesn't grow on trees, you have to earn it my dear. I have lived in 2 cities and never had a hard time finding a doctor. My parent's immigrated here legally and they came from small mountain villages. They learned the language (not easy) they worked hard, and they never had to go on assistance. They bought their home paid it off had 3 kids and lived their life and never complained, maybe its because they came from a different generation. You have to look at the big picture.

Every single topic discussed on this video is not only accurate but they are things i deal with every day.\n\nI work at a hotel downtown and with all the Homelessness and mental illness my job often seems more about keeping people out of the hotel than letting people in.\n\nWe were one of the last hotels to take cash and debit and we found out the hard way it just doesnt work and now we need credit cards like the other hotels which isnt fool proof and is unfair to people who dont use credit cards (like me) but its better than nothing.\n\nA lot of people are free to move around but they do not function in a way that is compatible with modern society for which there is no escape. I live in Canada for 20 years, I volunteered in a shutter couple of times preparing and serving food, I haven't seen any black person that's homeless, Winnipeg to be a specific where I lived, where homeless is higher there, yet you showing black people in your video as homeless?! that's just tells me you are racist yourself. \nwhere I used to live, black people especially the immigrants are business owners, and they're hard working people. \nWe all know who are the homeless and why they are homeless not because they can't find job but because they have mental problems then they end up to drugs addictions. I've been thinking of leaving Canada as well. It's hard to find good jobs here, you'll work yourself to death trying to keep a roof over you head and yo pay your bills, and I can just go on and on. I was born and raised here, yet it no longer feels like home, things are getting worse here. All I keep thinking about is the time I went to visit ghana. I don't know how to describe it but to me they looked free, they had a sense of genuine warmth and community that you dont get here.

The cost of living is so high that both parents need to work to live. It's hard to have kids when mom and dad are both working full time jobs, barely getting by and day care is also expensive. We need to incentivize kids to pursue trade jobs instead of dancing on tik tok. We also need to protect traditional Canadian identity. Immigration at that rate will rapidly change our demographics with people from cultures very different from Canada's. We will no longer have common holidays that all Canadians celebrate. Unity will be over. Will any mainstream politicians actually speak up about this?

There will be a huge influx of Ukrainian refugees, One could not get a better immigrant in Canada they are well educated, hard working, industrious and use to the Canadian winters, They build the prairies in the last Russia war migration in 1914 and will be major contribution to Canada. Many will settle in the prairies were Ukrainian language is more common, and Saskatchewan population will significantly increase which for some time has been a downward spiral.

I am an immigrant myself and came here through Express Entry, before that I studied in the U.S. I am all for Immigration but with recent events, I think the government should spend more time on the cost of living crisis and housing crisis. What I am proposing is we make room and keep cost low if we are to bring in more immigrants. The hard to find workers argument is basically people not working low paying jobs, most of these immigrants will be educated, have degrees and mostly in Finance or Tech fields, the talent in these fields are saturated and it's very hard to have job mobility in these sectors. I am not for kicking the ladder down once I made it, I am just saying we should focus on cost of living and housing so that these immigrants can succeed and better contribute when they come here, instead of living in the living room because they can't afford rent in the cities and not finding work since most are in saturated fields.

This does include how much money generated by New immigrants spending money. New immigrants are what drives the economy with whatever money they bring here and spend buying cars, furniture, basic necessities and if possible houses or condos. Canada has a declining birth rate. What jobs is this guy talking about? Do a job search. There is no manufacturing in Canada. If any are kept in North America will go to Mexico. White people blame China where people are willing to work hard for less and no union formation or complaints. He does not mention the fees visa students pay which is 5 times Canadian Students pay at university or college is used to offset Canadian students so they pay low tuition fees. Knowing the real reason Canada needs visa and immigrants and how much money it generates just by the application fee, immigrants and visa students don't owe Canada nothing and other countries should adopt the same strategy to attract immigrants. Unfortunately the majority of Canadians are English, Scottish, and Irish which are racist blaming Canada's economic and job problems on immigrants. The majority think they are entitled and ignorant and arrogant. That's why they are called mange cake and Malakas and other names by immigrant groups. That is why you have China towns, Greek towns, Italian, Portuguese, INDIA , Jewish and other ethnic towns and ethnic communities don't visit small white towns or move to other provinces. Canada clean up your problem.

I knew it all the time. My son wanted to go to Canada. I steadfastly refused. I told him not to sell his 'jameer' for 'phoren' and that it would be ok with me even he earns Rs 5-10K/month. I am vindicated. Education is a scam worldwide. I am smart enough to know it because I am not 'educated' ? I barely passed Std 12 with 43% yet I am earning well. My advice to all the aspiring students is don't waste your parents' hard earned money on false pursuits.

The problem with Indian people is that despite their hard work and dreams for good, their energies are misdirected without concerns that there are laws, rules and expectations in other countries that are different then theirs. For Canada, what is hesitation to talk straight about approving student visa, where applicant don’t afford to pay for travel, full time education and living expenses at all without simultaneously working, where no appropriate jobs are possible or available at all.

The situation seems a bit hard. Don't know what the real reason for the same education of why foreign student are charged 5 times of a domestic student?

Canada has beautiful nature so if you are travelling it must have. Politically. It’s a fuckin shithole where drug addicts wackos have more rights than you hard working guy paying taxes. Freaking police speed trapping like crazy. You might have an impression that police patrol is on every corner but at the same time 11pm in East Village (Calgary) girl who is working at the pizza place has to locked a door because homeless zombies on drugs are causing problems. But I guess there is no police there because there is no quick bucks to make from useless drug addicts. Fuckin tired of this woke society where logic is replaced by emotions. And these rainbow flags everywhere. Virtue signalling in its finest.
