It's tough after a pandemic and a fews wars happenings and still going on these days.\nIs it Just Canada that has this problems? \nIf a rich country like Canada has such a problem, i don't know how others Country stands.\nMy relatives in Cambodia told me chicken over there cost more than where i am now. This is before the pandemics ,What a surprise..

In that case, why not open the border and see if Palestinians come in. I came here 20 years ago from south asia. got my master's degree from Mcgill, started a business with my husband. We are doing well, working hard and having a good life in general. We did tighten our budget, planned our finances to a T. We live in Toronto, contrary to most, people are super friendly and social. It's disappointing that Saudi Arabia is going to not extend a welcome to all the Gazans that have lost their houses because rockets were launched from their area and Israel returned fire to defend itself from more launches from that point. WHERE are municipal politicians supposedly limiting the construction of homes? I don’t see it. \n\nWe are aware that there are regulations in place to protect buyers and that self-serving industries lobby to do away with, as those protective regulations can reduce profits. Some provincial governments (like Alberta) are highly sympathetic to lobbies and industries, to the detriment of citizens. \nWhy are you not pointing to the fact that successive federal governments of the past stopped funding the construction of lower cost housing (thereby creating more demand AND our number one problem of unmitigated greed throughout the real estate and home building industries? We have some people in government attempting to get more low cost homes built while industries know that they can make more money building houses that are far, far bigger than people NEED. Dumbasses and keep-up-the-Jones folks unwisely buy these homes and then many of them have difficulty affording a lifestyle that they think they are entitled to. Meanwhile, lower income earners have been priced right out the market. Of course, capitalists and real estate investors like Pierre Poilievre will never admit that these are our actual problems. Regulating the construction and real estate industries could have gotten a lot more homes built in higher density for young and lower income Canadians, as well as for our newcomers. \n\nToo much blind and poorly informed anger, selfishness, and foolishness going around. Canadians of the past who pulled together during world wars would call us weak and entitled.

Why not take refugees to make them safe? If you cared as much as you say, that way Israel could destroy Hamas and then you could allow them to go back. It sounds to me that the arab world doesnt want to stop Hamas, only Israel ?? if this is the case then you are allowing Allah to decide who lives and who dies, why not reduce the deaths by making people safe. This war has taken to many innocent lives on both sides

In essence, you don't want to take them in. A war is going on because Hamas started it and threatened the total destruction and death of all Israel after what it did to innocent civilians and babies. Israel is protecting itself against that threat. The war is putting the innocent Palestinians in grave danger. Until the war is over, the rest of the Islamic world should absorb the innocent Palestinians caught in the cross fire who are suffering harshly. Hamas started the war.

The Arab guy speaking doesn’t understand the reality that Israel isn’t going to stop. The immediate concern would be to keep as many civilians safe out of war torn area right now.

Arab countries will never unite, if only because Shiites from Iran are bombing the borders of Saudi Arabia, and Shiites hate Sunnis from Saudi Arabia more than Jews from Israel! To be honest. That land has been conquered by so many different armies over the eons. Whomever conquers the land,and defends it, owns it, until another army comes along and takes it by force. If you want it bad enough, go take it, but it will always come at a high price. As in all wars, many lives will be lost. It is always better to find peace, but no Muslim country will ever make peace with Israel.

Why must Palestinians leave their land and let Israel win easily ? No . Yes some choose to flee and be refugees in other countries when Israel should be stopped from what they doing . How about sanctioning Israel ? How about declaring israel a terrorist organisation and bring Netanyahu and the other prime minister infront of the human rights court for war crimes ? The root cause of frequent wars, killings, murders, arrests, harassment is that Palestinians have been removed from their land, homes and farmlands. If they can receive what was taken from them by force by the Israelis then the area shall return to peace. Simple: the occupation has to brought to an end. Period.\n\nIf the Palestinians are to be removed from Gaza and West Bank into other Arab nations that would be giving victory to the Israelis who have two main objectives: (1) to remove all Palestinians from Palestinian lands(ethnic cleansing mission) (2) to claim ownership of the entire Palestinian territory (complete occupation of all of Palestine).\n\nFor me, if it comes to the worst senerio, the Palestinians can be given an option, either to seek safety elsewhere in other nations as refugees, if they want to, or to remain on their own land at all costs. \n\nI know most Palestinians shall choose to stay back. Remember, Jerusalem is a blessed holy land for Muslims. There are so many religious benefits for staying there. Every Muslim dreams of being a frequent visitor or native of the holy land in Palestine. Infact, they await both the messiah(Jesus peace be upon him) and the mahdi who shall come to lead them in to posperity in that land. So, they are not going anywhere. The Palestinian Muslims shall continue to live there until the end of time.

Isn't a little suspicious that every time there is a war the global elite talk about where should the refugees go instead talking about how to end the need for them to leave? It's like they insist in keeping the supply of refugees unchecked.

Every where the Palestinians go they have cause war. That is why no Arab country will take refugees.

War creates refugees. Refugees have to be save during wars by leaving conflict zones. They can always go back afterwards. The question is why are Arab countries not helping Palestinian displaced people?

It is very painful to us Canadians to recognize that this nation has gone to hell.\nUnless immigrants come from war zones or natural disaster stricken countries, we are going to end up with a very empty second largest country in the world, and even though a lot of disenchanted new immigrants are leaving Canada after a couple of years.\n\nThe key word here is greed, that is destroying this nation. The pursue of the American Dream is contagious, not only by geography but because a lot of people, around the world, still believe in such a naive concept.\nOne has to observe what is happening in the USA to realize, that following its trends, inevitably will take us to the same dangerous reality : a country and a system hated and increasingly becoming isolated.\n\nCanada still has the resources and the human presence to do much better, before it is too late, mind you.\nGreetings from Toronto.

How does bringing more people here help housing? More people means more homes needed driving up the cost. We dont need diversity! This is my home and Im sick of othrr cultures that are not compatible. Things like common courtesy is not common in other cultures. Dont need honor killings or cuvil wars brought here nor do we need war criminals. I dont want to wake up one day and find my home is taken over like the Turks took over Byzantium. I also do not want to deal with foreigners who expect us to change our ways to not offend them. A refugee should only be welcomed until its safe to go home, not stay here.

Send them back. This is very wrong to do. You can not force your entry in a foreign country! And Venezuelans are not fleeing a war, they are not persecuted, plus they are not welcome in all South America because they are lazy, very disrespectful and sadly a lot of crime wherever they go.

This has gotten out of control. The US is not the solution to everyone's problems. They think the grass is greener on the other side. So, we already had homeless people on the streets - even the veterans - . Americans are having a hard time, I think that there should be planes/buses taking these people back to the country they lived in. They need to be on the what list. Our country is failing Americans, and a fair amount of those crossing do have criminal records. Seeing a crowd this large, is this going to turn into a civil war? It's sad.

We are more alike than most people think. We as Canadains are more American than we will admit. Just ask a Canadain about going to war. That's why every war, thousands of Canadain people will fight in American uniforms.

When the Syrian refugee crisis was at its peak, the refugees were lied to and told they could acquire free housing in NB. Alot of them ended up going back home within a couple of years, because housing and employement was literally more stable in their war-torn hometowns. I had a housemate once that was shocked to learn that we were all paying the same price for rent, she thought she was the only one being charged money because she was foreign, but we had to explain to her that the Canadian government literally steered her into the ground. She was on the phone all day cancelling plans to move her family over after that, and she went back home within the year.

I teach ESL so I talk with a lot of newcomers and immigrants as part of my job. The case of one of my students sticks out in my mind. She originally came here from Ukraine because of the war. She wants to get PR status because she wants to settle here and make a life for herself and her family. She was explaining the process to me and she seemed really caught in a Catch 22. She held advanced degrees in mathematics and economics already, but in order to qualify here she would need to go back to school, which would require a different visa than the one she was here on. She was working, but at a low paying job where she was just making ends meet. So she has to decide whether to go back or stay, basically because of bureaucracy and no other reason. She was strongly considering going back home because of how expensive the cost of living is here. And I can't say I blame her. I was born here and if I had the resources, I would move. I would love to move abroad because the standard of living in most European countries is so much better.

I am 10th generation Canadian and plan on leaving one day too just not sure when and where to go. Affordability is not good, no special things for the long term generations that their whole family grew up here, nothing with banks, nothing with education, nothing to advance careers for myself or my children, non allied people getting in. I remember when there was stricter immigration laws. I remember when one man could support a whole family. I remember when citizens would walk on one side of the street and allow others to pass on the opposite side walking from the other direction on the streets as well as in the stores, when people had more courtesy. I remember when people could joke and not get offended, when people would stand up for one another. When a community was a community. When you could be Christian and not considered offensive. When it was safe to say bless you and not be told to shove it etc... when you did not have to witness riots on the streets and a people divided and it was not believers and non believers either as the non believers would still be peaceful in the past. It is much more than that now. Now it is you are white and racist, which I am far from but have been accused and am very baffled at that statement because never in my life would I in the past ever be accused of that. I am now like, wow what am I witnessing? I just feel something much greater is going to come, but not knowing when. ONe thing I fear is there will be an all out war and it will be whites or Christians being the target one day.

I have never in all my life been treated like trash for being white then I have in the last 2years you know what my Grand father did not go to war become a pow for his grand daughter to be treated no better then scum for a Country he fought for so she could live free,I think every single one of them who went off to war not because they hated what was in front of them but loved what was behind them,my husband lost his job because of covid and lost out to job after job because he didnt speak the right lan my grandfathers Canada is gone and Im hating my own country more and more and yes Im part of the so called white people race

If tax payers money is going to be used to fund wars rather than helping people of your own country that’s what’s going to happen

They will tell you any reasons to prove to you what they say it's right. \nLet's hope Canada wakes up, unite, stand up, and say NO.

They get dual citizenship so they can go back home until there is a pandemic or war and then they will come back to Canada.

My immigration process took 14 years in total until I could get here, it was a blessing and I had a lot of gratitude to be here after living in a warzone. Ive lived in Winnipeg for 10 years, a part of me was always happy and okay to deal with the cold because at least nobody would be killing you or attempting to on a daily basis, with rockets and bombs. 10 years later, I was wondering that the only reason we came here was to escape war, and not find a better quality of life. You can tell me “you don’t like it then leave” but i find it disturbing that many Canadians here don’t recognize how bad the situation gets, when governments don’t do anything to enhance quality of life and corporates take control everywhere and raise the costs to unbelievable numbers. Housing crisis, most can’t afford houses or even rent a nice apartment. Healthcare system is a complete dogshit mess, people here don’t recognize the importance of how much this industry needs to be supported by governments and citizens because EVERYONE benefits from it and stay alive longer. I don’t know man, I only see it collapsing going forward, especially when everyone is divided and the aboriginal issues are a constant trend.
