If Muslims in Canada truly do not want non-Muslims to be afraid/distrust their beliefs, they should stop allowing the Muslim Extremists of the World to be the leading voice of their religion.

Muslims leave their homes and countries because their religion has destroyed them and now they want to bring those same ideologies here rather than fix them there. Religious brainwashing will be the end of us all. Religion is a disease that has to be stopped everywhere, that includes Christianity and it's insanity.

Muslims do not integrate and they don't want to. They push their religion on us. They sue catholic school boards for teaching Catholicism. They are liars. They find everything we do offensive. I find covering your face, killing women and female mutilation offensive. They need to be more open .

The best way to solve this problem is through education. Education is like a lighthouse that burns through the fog of religious rhetoric. As muslim people (and people of any religion, for that matter) become better educated, the grip of religion weakens and eventually disappears. It may take a few generations. I'm optimistic that Canada can beat this problem without violence.

The thing is you hear things about ISIS or hamas and you try to separate it and say that it only the extremists, when in fact the moderates still support it. when speaking to a muslim friends of mine i asked her if your book says killing is wrong then why is there so much of it in islam? to my dismay she said that as long as they're killing for her religion its ok and that she supports things like the charlie hebdo shootings. Where are the women's feminist groups? I remember cries of 'Male chauvinist pig' back in the '70s and the title was well deserved by most men back then. Muslim fundamentalist men today are poster boys for that title and I hear no outcry from the feminists who have been battling for full equality with men for the last 100 years. Here we have subjugation of women in the name of religion and the feminists are silent. Hijabs and burkas are relics of the Dark Ages and have no place in modern western society.

Tolerance is not a one way street. Well no time ever has been ok for a 50+ year old man to f*ck a 9 year old. \n3. In this religion that muslims consider perfect, apostasy is to be punished by death (quran 4:89). This combined with the fact that muslims consider their religious doctrines more important than man-made (western) law is something that makes them incompatible with civilised society. Of course they benefit from the civilised society, but not vice versa. \n4. Then there are the many verses in the quran that order muslims to fight non-muslims (and specifically jews), order death for adultery and homosexual behaviour, etc. Just search and you'll find as there are way too many to list here. Why do westerners care about muslims and their dogshit of a religion?

The niqab looks ridiculous.  It looks like what a bank robber or someone with a facial defect would wear.  The hijab should not be mandatory either.   Even the Quaran is not specific about the modest attire it prescribes (for both sexes).  There is too much pressure for Muslim women to put on this stupid attire.   It's pathetic that Muslims have to fear speaking out to even mildly criticize their religion and truly horrifying that most Muslims actually support killing people for leaving the religion.

Victimising others is what Islam does. Is life hard for a Muslim in Canada? NO. You have equal rights by the law, you don't have to pay a tax for being Muslim; you have freedom of religion, freedom of speech, you're life is not at risk for criticising the majority or the rule of law...All of the these are lacking for minorities in Muslim majority countries. Islam is not a religion - its an ideology! The basis is in the Quran, Hadiths and in Sharia. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. In Saudi Arabia, non-muslims have to wear the hijab. So if Muslims plan to stay in Western countries, they have to unveil just like every other Western woman. Besides, you don't know if it is a man or a woman in burquah and it's frightening. They talk about women in Islam wearing the hijab, but how many of them really pracitise true Islam. Why are not wanting to go to Saudi Arabia. Double standards - they want the Western lifestyle and money and not the Saudi Arabian lifestyle. At its worst, muslims cannot police their fellow muslims. There are factions from within, the threat is the extremist who feel entitled to spread, impose their culture instead of assimilating to an accomodating country. What about the feelings and sentiments of other immigrants from non muslim countries? I come from predominantly christian Philippines, and get along well with hindis, East Indians and Europeans of non muslim background. All to often it is hard to get along with muslims, they talk issues which you can only say they have that victim syndrome. No wonder it reminds me of college days that, no one jokes around these guys as they are quick to anger and they tend to band as a pack of wolves. And pretty much it was in the name of their religion that they come together. Its the victim syndrome I guess that keeps them from Fitting in the Normal.

Just look at Muslim attire, and how the women are forced to dress in all black. It is demonic and oppressive. Why be a victim of organized religion when we can be liberated and be disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ!

The women said they are not enforced to wear the niqab or burka, if it so, is not mandatory and there is anything to do with their religion why to wear it ? why do not they embrace our culture, they can keep their faith in their heart and their home , no one cares. Do they use it to be distinguished as muslim women from non-muslim women, so then muslim men can just harm the non muslim, as it says it is been done in other countries as in Sweden when they raped non muslims women? Then why are they forced to use it in their countries and punished even killed for not using it? The niqab , I did not care they use it unless it does not harm anyone but now that as been said they using it to distinguish women it borrows me, the full burka is too extreme if it is not mandatory so do not use it cause it just makes you apart from others Canadian women and it do not bring peace and no safety. If Islam is a peaceful religion , they should do everything they can to maintain the peace.

Being a Muslim woman must be very sad, in countries where Islam is the main religion they can't choose how to dress, they can't choose to have a career, they can chose who to marry, they can't choose their religion, and Islam also endorse husband to beat his wife if necessary. To the women who wear the niqab: do you really think that God is so stupid to judge you by what you wear??? God looks at your heart.\nThen, we can discuss about how much the US destabilised the middle east, but in general Islam doesn't fit well in a globalised world and created no social and economic development in the last 100 years. There are small exceptions (Qatar, UAE) who found oil under their ass, but in general a society who wants to live and do things like 1.600 years ago can only bring inequality and no progress whatsoever.

As a Muslim living in Canada, I don't see the harm in a woman wanting to cover herself, I wear the head scarf myself, but in my opinions I don't feel the need to cover myself to prove I am more modest or a better Muslim.  I believe everyone has free will and has the right in this Country to dress the way that the law has allowed them to.  No one has the right to tell someone how to dress, not even the Prime Minister himself.  Telling a woman what she can and cannot wear is oppression.  I truly believe that if Muslims want to live in Western civilization, then they should refrain from covering their faces because the face is our identity and People have the right to know who you are and what your face looks like.  You cannot vote with a covered face, you cannot cover your face in a passport photo, you cannot cover your face for your driver's licence etc... I am a Muslim woman and I say this.  It truly is a shame how the media is portraying Islam and the Muslim people as a whole, and it truly is a shame that Canadians have become so ignorant.  I see more ignorance and racism in Canada than I do in America and 9/11 took place in America.  If you want to know about Islam, learn about Islam from a Muslim, a Library, google Islam, or offer to spend a few days with a Muslim family for research to get a better understanding of Islam and Muslims.  As a Muslim myself I can understand the hatred and the ignorance because we act according to how we were taught and raised, and yes we have many extremists claiming to follow the Islamic faith.  These extremists are not only hurting Western civilization, but they are also hurting the peaceful moderate Muslims that value their rights and freedoms as Canadians.  I do not appreciate ISIS hijacking my religion, I do not appreciate Hamas or Hezballah hijacking my Religion because I am a very accepting person and a very open minded Muslim and to be defined by media as a problem or a terrorist is very hurtful and a shame.

How Muslims treat Muslims of a slightly different faith is evidence enough of what they truly represent. help for Syrian refuges is not coming from the middle east.\nshove you excuses pc people.\ncould you imagine Canada saying no to Britain in the last 2 world wars cause your religion is slightly different.\nCountries in the middle east who have the same language and culture as Syria but a different form of Muslim will not allow 1 refuge in, the Religion of Peace at work.

It's interesting to see a Muslim woman give her opinion when in many Muslim dominated countries she wouldn't be given the same opportunity. I've also noticed many Muslims being interviewed are obviously not from overseas meaning they most likely haven't lived in a country that is governed by the law of the religion they follow. I wonder how they would enjoy living in any of the Muslim countries where Sharia law is practiced.

When someone decides to hide themselves while out in public... they are effectively insulting the public. They are saying, 'I can see you but you can't see me... I am superior to you'. Awful. We should all be able to see each other out of respect for each other. Muslims complain about a lack of respect for their religion and culture but they don't respect other religions and cultures e.g. face covering. This is simply not compatible with the freedoms, liberties and openness that I grew up with and stand for.
