I am a Serbian and Canadian living in Canada for the last 24 years. I love \nthis country I respect this country but my God is so much different than it used to be or it is me. This summer I went with my kids and wife to 6 different countries in Europe Eastern Europe and Central and have seen 2 alcoholic then I come to Canada I see thousands of drug addicts on the street. everything is overpriced ppl do not enjoy in here. When I came in 2000 Serbian economy was low due to the war now it is better and Canadian economy is worse so the gap is very small. you need to make 6000$ to live just ok and I do live well but there is always but. I call it a pressure cooker, I wish all Canadian travel abroad a bit just to realize that they were lied too and that there's a lot of bs. I can give you an example: Condo in Belgrade same size property tax is 200$ per year condo in Qc Gatineau 2500$ plus condo fees 400$ per month basically 7000$ wasted for what? no dr wholes on the street broken system. It will be for sale. I agree paying taxes on my house where I live but for rental property when you deduct all the expenses you invested so much money without any profit. the one that works and the one that scams the system make the same amount of money and we live approx the same. something is wrong there. I will live for many years to come but definitely not spending my whole life here due to many circumstances and expenses. Family values are getting killed and I have issues with that. The more I was pushed to change the more I went to church and believed in old fashioned traditional values. As you said I will always be grateful for what I made but working hard for two jobs in the last 20 years I would make that somewhere else too. Canada has changed too much since I came that's for sure. What triggers me the most fake approach when ppl say I make 100k wow then you didn't get that, that is only on the pay stub. how much did you get 50k that is the real money then you need to add deductions house tax this tax, sewage, water it comes less and less and then you realize that in reality you make more but you spend so much more with less quality of life. who cares how much you make the question is how do you live with the amount that you make.?

Germany, Its wants to stay as an economic super power, at the same time it doesn’t want people, as mentioned by Afd leader. Let their politicians decide what they want first. Skilled people don’t want to be treated as pawns, they have place in every corner of the world. This German Society will only tolerate you , will not accept you. \n\nAnd the language? it takes 6months full time study to complete untill B2. They will be busy growing their own food, and will not have time for rioting in Haiti or digging tunnels and firing off rockets into Israel by Hamas. They can use their time productively growing food and taking care of animals for food. If you send them money and food, the heads of groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and PLO just siphon off the money, they are all millionaires. The same thing in Haiti the ruling class siphoned off the money so it did not go to the needs of the people. \n The Liberals have focused on increasing taxes , the so-called climate crisis and basically woke social issues. IE free hard drugs for drug addicts.A soft-on-crime policy that just emboldens thieves. IE car theft in Canada. The Liberals are poor money managers and poor project managers IE The Trans Mountain pipeline came in at $27 billion over budget? \n Canada works well with a centralist governing party . That will happen when the Liberals are replaced with a Conservative government.

Being born in Saskatchewan as well I agree that Canada has suffered immensely in the last decade. I spent the majority of my adult life in Vancouver back when you felt safe everywhere you ventured. Not now, I'm socked at the decline especially the violence and drugs. I've lived in a few other countries over the past 30 years none have surpassed what has happen in Canada. I currently live in the middle east and have never felt safer. The taxation is crazy, the health care system is substandard and getting worse. For those who want to retire, Canada is not very friendly and typically way overpriced. I'm seeing a trend over the last 10 years of people opting for a warmer more friendly climate to spend what should be your years to enjoy life. Something I fear impossible in Canada's current climate!

I see no potential anymore to stay in Canada. Canada is bigger than USA with a population less than California. They have as many natural resources as Russia. They are sitting next to the biggest market where you can export even stones if you attach a story. Canadians can all live well from anyone of the following: Export wood, Fish, Oil, gas, electricity, wheat, potatoes, etc... Just one item is enough. Yet Canada manages to have so many homeless and poor people \nBut to live in Canada is like spending half your life inside a freezer.

We have no one to blame but our current Prime Minister. How quickly our beautiful country changed. I lived in Ottawa all my life, but currently living and working in a small remote area in the Northwest Territories. But where will you go? The States? England? France? Mexico? I’m OK in Montreal. If I were to move I would go to Uruguay, Costa Rica or Spain. Things are expensive everywhere in the world. The good thing about Canada is that we don’t have to spend tons of money in Defence. What I don’t like is that our Government is using my money to fund a war in Ukraine.

Since my mother was German when I was born, I just recently found out that I'm also a German citizen from birth through descent through my mother. I've been living here in the US since high school when I moved from Victoria to Tucson, Arizona. I eventually got my US green card (permanent residency. I then moved to Madison, Wisconsin and became a US Citizen. At this point, I am a dual US and Canadian citizen in addition to being German citizen as well. I am applying for my confirmation of German citizenship through the German consulate in Chicago which would then allow me to obtain a German passport for access to live and work freely in EU and Schengen countries. I went to The Netherlands last January and I really feel in love with the Dutch culture and lifestyle. I am planning on spending at least a few years there as soon as I get my German passport. \nMy relatives in Canada keep telling me how lucky I am to be a US Citizen as they all say how terrible the situation has become in Canada. I am surprised since I've always considered Canada to be one of the top places to live in the world. I haven't lived in Canada for a long time and I've been doing relatively good here in the USA. I enjoy the US overall but we definitely have our share of issues here as well.\nAnyhow .... I wish you the best on your next location.

This is all a set up. The government wants more lower paid worker's so big corporations can make money. Then certain parties propogate their racist its the immigrants who are the problem. Riot against the govt not the immigrants. The govt should spend money to update infrastructure and housing. But that costs money and that money goes to big corp.

I'm feeling the same. This country is running by bad managers who cannot be fired no matter how horrible their performance is. My friend from China visited me in Toronto about two months ago and he said he had zero interest in immigrating to Canada now because the streets look so trashy which I can totally relate. I came back from Japan last year and it was a bit culture shock to see how dirty the streets are in Toronto compared to Tokyo (not even the cleanest in Japan). I have to constantly remind myself I'm lucky to have a comfortable bed and a not too bad salary but my monthly savings after all the expenses are actually decreasing from year to year even I get a pay raise every year (I track all my spendings and income every month). Now it's time to consider other options before it's too late.

I think all things are possible when you are young and healthy. As someone with an unexpected chronic disease that showed up in my 40s I'm on immunosuppressants that are very costly. Thank God the gov't here covers them. With treatments every 6 weeks I have no freedom to leave. While that's taken care of, access to a family doctor or emergency care is horrible. Waiting a month for a doctors appt or having to spend 10 hours in emergency is not okay in a developed country.\n As a citizen you have Canada as a safety net, so its no big deal if you move and don't like it. I'm not sure where is safe in the world right now. A lot of people moved to Equador, and then boom the violence got out of control. Just my thoughts on things.

We are in the process of leaving Canada as well. Possibly permanent. We have come to Canada 22 years ago. We can live a good life with even one minimum wage when we first arrived Canada. It was a dream land for everybody. Today, we are double income professionals in Saskatchewan and still feel living standard is poor. Grocery price is 5 or 10 times as when we first come to Canada. However, salary of average family barely increase. The spending of government is just out of control and make everybody poor. Canada is on a rapid downhill path since Justin Trudeau become Premier Minister, I can't see this trend can be turned back in a short time.

Hello Alina, I have been to Toronto in 2007, and I can honestly say, I did not like it. I have my cousin in Vancouver, and after staying there for so long. Has decided to come back to Perth. If I was a young guy, Thailand would be my choice to live. I have just come back from Koh Samui, After spending 8 nights on that beautiful Island. I have met a lot of people from all walks of life. There are lots of people setling in Thailand today. Americans, English, Swedish, people from Switzerland, Holland, Austria, Norway and so on. I had the pleasure of seeing Lilly, her husband Wat, and her gorgeous 3 kids, her nanny, and her son. The food is so cheap, everybody smiles. Not like here in Perth. The weather was exceptionally beautiful. It rained mainly at night, and once during the day. Alina, whatever you decide to do. Do it wisely. I wish you all the best. Your main aim is to be happy. The country needs to spend 92.5 billion dollars to solve the housing crisis in Toronto. That would build 250,000 homes. Spread the cost over 5 years, build around Barrie, Georgina, Beaverton, and Uxbridge. Spend another 90 billion on railways to those areas. Hire 50/50 local to immigrant worker.

The real problem is the dishonest people and frudulent rate sky rocketed.\n\nInternational student program was announced by conservative party in 2008 for international students to obtain a work visa that could potentially lead to pr.\nDuring 2008~2015 there was virtually 0 problems in immagrations with an EASY requirements with just 1 year work experience and finished college/university.\n\nThe student came here just to work problem we have at the moment doesn't make any sense math wise.\n\nAn actual college will charge 22k$ per year as a cheap cheap cheap option, university starts from 40k$ and goes up from there, on top of that the student need to purchase an GIC program at a Canadian bank with 10~15k$ and maybe also a meal plan in school BEFORE they even arrives.\nby adding up the cost, the person will spend 100~300k$ withing the first 2~4 years WITHOUT having any properties in the end, doing cash jobs will NOT even cover up the cost.

They started a classic Ponzi Scheme. An immigrant brings in Cash which they have to spend here which gives a boost to the economy ( when you have hundreds of thousands of newcomers coming in). \nBut the fools didn't realize at the beginning that it is a pyramid scheme where you need new people to keep joining and with time you need more and more people to keep that pyramid from falling flat. Now they can't suddenly stop adding more people but the more join (new immigrants), the worse it becomes for everyone in the scheme (Canadian Residents).

I am a Filipino nurse and i am single. I've been working here since 2017. It's like i am not having that much or should i say enough. I am spending almost half of my salary just for monthly rent and common necessities. The living cost here are high and the wages are low and not mentioning the number of taxes that will drain you. But what i don't undertsand most is Germany currently rank as 3rd largest economy but it's not even included in Top 10 nations with highest salary for nurses. Now i recently passed the NCLEX exam for the US, and i know it's not just me there's a lot of us who's in the same boat and YES,..maybe it is time to leave Germany soon..

I visited Germany from the UK a year ago. Germany is expensive compared to other European nations... so, you will spend all the money you make to live - so, basically you will work to feed yourself... so you can work next day.

They're streaming into the US from Canada to NYC by the (literally busloads) because NYC has a free housing policy for illegal immigrants. They are being housed while veterans are left on the streets - literally no room at the inn. Everybody is crying about illegal immigration at the SOUTHERN border, but don't complain about the illegal immigration at the NORTHER border. Didn't Trump build his 'big beautiful wall'? Did we not spend millions of taxpayer dollars on it? I know Mexico didn't pay a penny on it. If Canadians are unhappy about immigration, that literally means it’s an indisputable scientific fact that there are immense issues with our system. The dark and disgusting side of this that doesn’t get talked about is how many newcomers leave shortly after spending everything they have to boost our GDP before they realize they’ll never get the opportunity or life they were promised here. I don’t think it’s just Canadians that see immense issues with our immigration system.\n\nImmigration also implies diversity. Not just flooding the country with millions of people from one section of the world.\n\nWe are indeed in a catch 22 though, because with the lack of replacement birth rate we’ve had, we can’t simply haunt immigration. But the asinine quota needs to go down. This all boils down to basic math and basic economics. There are no excuses for how badly this has been botched.
